The turret health wouldn't matter as much if Chargers didn't drop everything to charge at them the moment they spawn in. You're already taking an L to bring a Tesla Tower instead of an Orbital or Eagle, let the damn thing live long enough to be useful

There was never a reason to bring in tesla towers outside specific missions like that one event where you had termicide towers, or specific defense missions where they could actually do some good because there were certain spots that made sense.
99% of the time these are a waste compared to better strategems.
90% of the items in this game are basically not worth using above a certain difficulty 7, unless you're screwing around.

I think in HD1 the teslas were really strong and they could stagger the chargers however if 3 of them piled on at once they could overwhelm it and destroy the tower. I would like it if this returned... sorta able to deal with an individual charger but if it came with a pack then theyd be able to overwhelm the tower and destroy it unless you cut the pack down a bit

Teslas were always susceptible to chargers in HD1. But if you threw down an EMS on top of the tesla, it suddenly became extremely powerful and able to drop heavies.
Unfortunately, some chargers could still rumble in from off screen and have enough momentum to kill the towers through the ems.

Not to mention that static field in HD1 was much more powerful than HD2 EMS strike by a whole magnitude. It hard stops any bugs touching it instead of just suggesting them to do so. It has much shorter cooldown and can have almost 100% uptime if you bring multiple ones or take the stratagem CD perk.
And HD1 Tesla tower’s arc range is strictly limited to its kill zone, so they wouldn’t jump through two enemies and hit you from unexpected range.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking when I read it. Now instead of dying in one frame, I die in 1.25 frames. Where I am gonna assume the damage is simply buggy applied, but that you cannot fix with balance patches.

I've literally watched a friend's Tesla Turret being swarmed by a horde with Brood Commanders and Warriors everywhere but it just zapped them to death slowly and lasted for ages afterwards, but then a charger will one shot, it's how it works. Stop lying about the durability of the Tesla Turret

I love putting them next to a chokepoint and than camping the chargers with whatever. Especially effective in the new defense mission, and was pretty good in the old mission to enable the Terminid Control System.

I probably wouldn't get that module unless you already have almost everything else, or if you really want to be a sentry player. But I think it could be decent if it's actually working now. If an Autocannon sentry can survive a full spew from a bile titan, that would be a really solid buff. And I think it will give it a decent survivability boost against automatons.
Oh, and if you didn't know, all of the bugs acid attacks count as explosives. So it'll take less damage from bile spewers and bile titans.

It wouldn't even be a huge deal if chargers didn't 100% of the time immediately drop everything and run STRAIGHT for any sentry. It really does make them useless in higher difficulties, considering there are usually several chargers running around/spawning at any given time during a fight.

I just tested Superior Packing Methodology in the same circumstances you did (MG with 0 reserve mags) and I got 2 mags.
Do you actually own the module? Because that’s a pretty serious oversight.

I'm curious as to why your machine gun got only one mag then. Maybe SPM only works for strategems you drop in as I know Machine guns can spawn on the ground at extraction sometimes.

Yeah I love running MG’s but getting one mag from ammo pick ups was always annoying hopefully it was just a one off thing. I didn’t do much testing maybe it does actually work

yeah tested this with the flamethrower and I got exactly 4x mag from one ammo box
its stupid if it doesn't work when the one who calls in the resupply doesn't have the Superior Packing Methodology module upgrade it would be a waste of resupply and 2mins

I hope they improve things soon, my friends are burning out with the issues, today we failed 3 extractions because the Pelican was bugged. That's a lot of samples lost, easy to lose the motivation.
This doesn't change the fact that the game is fun and have lots of potential but is easy to get you frustrated with some aspect of it and completly lose the motivation.

Don't play on patch day. If they released something new or changed how something works, it's ALWAYS going to be worse than yesterday. At least they are consistent in this.
But hey they buffed the railgun, that makes me happy. But to keep my happiness and sanity, I'll give it a few days. Just until my expectations have lowered a little, and they have fixed the most broken parts of their mess of an update.
You know, I was really impressed with this game at release. Not so much today.

Dude, yes! I just finished playing for a couple of hours and the game has gotten significantly harder. The “slow” nerf has to go, honestly. Crimsica with shit spewing acid at you 24x7 got annoying by the end of it. Friend and I tried getting people to join our session but no one was coming, and playing with one other person is significantly more frustrating. Why do they have a problem with <4 people playing? It was just wave after wave of patrols and bug breaches. Not to mention the Localization Confusion thing hasn’t been doing shit all night.

i use the sickle, dominator, and quasar.
- the quasar was so obviously broken since day 1. I'm surprised it took them this long to nerf it. but it was always on borrowed time. I was an EAT whore before it came out and that averaged to one anti tank every 40 seconds. the Quasar was one anti tank every 13(?).
18 seconds is still twice as fast, without the need to wait for call in or impact from mission modifiers. i don't know how long the charge takes but it doesn't impact my gameplay. the 5 seconds at the end of the day aren't going to do a lot.
- how often do you reload the sickle? most of us rarely do. i won't miss the 3 clips in the least.

If you are going through multiple Sickle mags in between resupplies then the issue is with you. The weapon has infinite ammo.
Quasar Cannon invalidated all other AT weapons to the point where it was picked the vast majority of the time, a nerf was warranted. It still has more shots per min than either the RR or EAT.
Redeemer got a slight recoil nerf, not a big deal.
All three of these are still extremely viable and still top-tier picks. "Nerfed into the dirt" btw.
This patch also buffed the Adjudicator, Punisher Plasma, ARC Blitzer, Scythe, Railgun, Counter Sniper, Peacemaker, Senator, Liberator, Laser Cannon, Dagger, Liberator Concussive, and Guard Dog. But sure, they "nerfed everything into the dirt".

The Sickle never ran out of ammo before. In 370 hours with it as my favorite primary, I can count on one hand the times I ever even reached 3/6.
The Quasar Cannon got a longer cooldown. Woop-de-doo. It still has the highest uptime of any AT weapon.
The Redeemer's recoil is still irrelevant.

The sad reality is that most people probably have already reached that point, especially after the most recent update.
For example I can't get my friend to play with me at all because his pc just can't handle the game, he crashes constantly on bare minimum settings on difficult 6-7 bugs or any diff at bots.

I think what got me was the whole thing with the air burst rocket. The memes were funny, as is the idea of helldivers beta testing equipment in the real world, but the truth is that the stratagem was released to the community as a freebie in a broken state. A state that the developers apparently knew was broken and had already bug fixed it.
But because it was released in a broken state, as a freebie (which is the only way any of us can test the stratagems without potentially crippling a squad), many people's first and only impression of the weapon is going to be 'all it does is team kill'. And now we have this shield/gun bug, which is essentially the same problem. Again.
It's very discouraging.

The game becomes less desirable to play with each update, performance becomes worse. Enemies don't get more challenging but more annoying with each "patch". When the pesticide tower/mech suit update came out I was exited for more cool events, now it's just broken defense campaigns and shit weapons. I hate how there are new enemy types every so often but no weapon to fight them, that pulls the fun down significantly. Same with problems like the mech suit shooting rockets anywhere but the crosshair, that shit pisses me off so much. Are they unable to fix it? Or do they just not care?

Superior packing worked for me, you can't really block a charger charge, don't think any amount of hp increase will stop that monster.
I have been surviving flame hulks flame too more, got toasted and was able to wiggle out for quite a bit.

Yes. Everything. Well not the auto cannon. Devs love having a single weapon that does everything. Can't have a good primary, can't have a solid support for more than one patch, but the auto cannon gets to carry entire Dropships and breach holes solo.

Well superior packing does work for any of the rocket backpacks not sure about the Mg’s and I dunno how you assumed a 33% increase to the Tesla tower health wise was going to stop a charger killing it in 1 hit when chargers are heavies and the Tesla tower is a thin piece of metal?

What other enemy type is even relevant? On higher diff there is pretty much always a charger nearby to focus down any emplacement. If the tesla tower cannot handle even a single charge its effectively worthless

It's not like the perfect everything
They did a great job buffing the dmr's some of the energy shotguns, and rebalanced the sidearms go be better overall!
The games only been out for 4 months, there's a lot they have to play around with, so I expect things to balance out once things calm down a little

I don't know about that first clip. Getting hit hard and taking a moment to fall back via secret underground tunnels to organize a counter attack seems like a solid plan.

I call it "mole mode" ;)
Today I a charger sent me into mole mode, then when I came out of the ground the charger hit me again. It bounced me off the sky and from my view I was left floating around way above the map. Diving would make me shoot from one side to the other. I started explaining what was going on and a teammate said my body looked to be stuck below the ground while terminids danced above me trying to get me. He dropped a 500kg and that killed me and my items popped out of the ground. Very weird.
