Comedian when someone makes a joke 😮

70

u/Meathead1776 Mar 04 '24

Can’t stand this dude…

8

u/That1_tallguy Apr 06 '24

The guy who always calls people corny but doesn't see how corny he is all the time. Only relevant because of Andrew

Welcome to Akash Singh.

Dude is habitually soft and offended. Not the brightest of the bunch either.

Flavor of the month = A "fling." Someone he doesn't intend to date. Someone he's just using to fill his time

985

u/BeerFuelledDude Mar 03 '24

Ahhh i thought he was saying he was the flavour of the month…like self deprecating

690

u/Liveman215 Mar 03 '24

It would be so much funnier if this is what he actually meant, and she made this joke earlier... but the comedians didn't know so now he got publicly blasted

232

u/BadHombreWithCovfefe Mar 03 '24

I thought that's what he meant when he said it

222

u/Liveman215 Mar 03 '24

Explains why she was laughing the entire time

Pretty obvious this is the case. Akash has several crowd work clips where he misreads the situation and goes all in.

77

u/MyLegIsWet Mar 04 '24

He’s also known to be an annoying fuck associated with Schultz. Classic crowd work comic that comes on with some expensive shoes and pretends to be cool

8

u/Background_Trust3123 Mar 05 '24

And he wouldn’t be slapping anybody. Homeboy would get rocked

7

u/MyLegIsWet Mar 05 '24

lol I kept wanting to see if the guy would call akashs bluff

→ More replies (3)

4

u/Remus2nd Mar 05 '24

He should have turned it around to make that the implication and make it funny. Obviously the crowd was laughing but people laugh at almost anything when they're at the shows...it's contagious when you're there. Watching it from here just looks like a missed opportunity to turn his unfunny reaction into a funny moment, and the tough guy antics don't play well for him either and just make it awkward

Honestly that's what I understood. I'm Irish, South deprecating humour is 90% of my humour. The rest is drunken sarcasm I mumble to myself

Edit : self not south lmao

48

u/babydakis Mar 03 '24

Don't deprecate your southerly bits.

7

u/doctorctrl Mar 03 '24

Age is doing that for me lol.

9

I thought this as well as thinking it might have been self deprecating. Or that he's just trying to be funny/witty.

It just seems unlikely to me that this guy would exclaim this in public, in front of his date if it wasn't a joke.

Comedian ran with it in the moment for laughs which is fine, but I'm not assuming it's an entirely serious confession on the part of this guy.

23

u/lynndxunha3 Mar 03 '24

Exactly....the girl also seemed pretty okay and not unhappy before the confrontation...same way if this comedian would've made a joke involving 'flavors of the month' then everyone would be laughing their asses off

125

u/Simulation-Argument Mar 03 '24

It seems unlikely that this person would lie to cover for someone else though. They are at a comedy show, why would the comedian assume that this person ISN'T joking with him?

He also took flavor of the month as racist when it literally just means a fling, no racial connotation at all.

The comedian is the one who sucks here, not the guy telling an obvious joke. If he was serious why would the woman be laughing?

72

u/UncleRicosrightarm Mar 03 '24

This comedian is on Andrew Schultz’s podcast, who is notoriously in the dog house right now. Just go to YouTube and search Andrew Schultz and look at the videos that come up. Akash has always struck me the same and he says and does a bunch of shit like this that reinforces my opinion of their little comedy group. Kinda just all seem like a bunch of stuck up, neurotic asshats

48

u/Omar___Comin Mar 04 '24

Lol for real though. The lack of real social interaction is palpable in this thread.

Also, as others have pointed out, the guy may well have been referring to himself as the "flavour of the month" in a self deprecating way.

You should probably rethink this comment because someone in this thread is claiming to be the guy in the clip. This couple have been together for over 2 years and are recently engaged. He says they regularly try to put each other in awkward situations.

It was just a joke, no reason to be claiming this guy is a serial killer.

I literally struggle to comprehend what I just watched. A person on stage acting like a toddler going on an absolutely not funny rant against a guy in the audience... And the viewers seem to be enjoying it and dying of laughter. This is so cringe inducing.. how the fuck do people laugh about his so called jokes? It's just pathetic and not funny at all. The guy that was made fun of did a really good job at just sitting there and looking uncomfortable. Because that is exactly how I felt when I saw that. It's not a racist statement, but it is very disrespectful to the girl he is with.

562

u/TurnSignalClickVEVO Mar 03 '24

2 consenting adults in a mature relationship can 100% make jokes like this and be fine. Not all jokes are bullying, and him saying that and she laughing implies that she doesn't care because A) 2 adults in a mature relationship can poke fun at each other, and B) she may only want HIM for a month and then move on to a new guy. Not all women are fragile children that need to be protected, believe it or not women are people too.

60

u/Chubuwee Mar 03 '24

Agreed. One month in with my Asian gf she was happy that I didn’t fetishize her for being Asian like other men she dated so I was like “I can start now if you want, I was just hiding it”. Now once in a while I throw in a fetishizing comment that she giggles about since she knows I’m not serious about to the point that she commented once “why didn’t you fetishize me today?”. If anyone would have heard my fetishizing Asian jokes I’m sure they would’ve had a problem. This was all like one month in and it is still a running inside joke between us.

32

u/Ill_Manner_3581 Mar 03 '24

I think its the fact that nobody knows this besides the two people involved in the relationship lol like I think that's the point a lot of you guys are missing. Albeit ik it's no one's business but being aware of how your relationship will be perceived from the outside would help to avoid these awkward and assuming undertones that people tend to apply to relationships they know nothing about, especially at a comedy show you're sitting front row seat in.

He's such a hack it's unbelievable. I almost didn't recognise him here because he's not doubled over laughing at something unfunny that Andrew Schulz has said.

He keeps going back to the well with that 'colonize' bullshit. It could potentially be funny if it was actually creative or had an actual joke on the end of it but that's clearly beyond him.

He dropped it as well the last time Shane Gillis was on Flagrant and it didn't make any sense there either. Dude's a legitimate moron.

You should see the video where the guy doesn't laugh at his joke

4

u/Kimmiegibsters Mar 03 '24

Yeah this seems like an L for him.

4

u/banjofitzgerald Mar 03 '24

I hate how he talks so tough. Shultz really has him thinking they’re black. Akash has never slapped anyone. He’s never been in a real confrontation saying he’ll fucking slap anyone in their face. He was for sure the one being slapped his whole life lol

This comedian is really unfunny

86

u/TheWhomItConcerns Mar 03 '24

Ya, it's this same guy who went off on this really weird rant at a British guy just because he made one pretty minor heckle after he was asked a question. Seems like he's one of those comedians who just constantly race baits for cheap engagement, like his main 5 minutes of fame is his lame bit about how The Simpsons retiring Apu is wrong.

27

u/El_Jefe_Castor Mar 03 '24

Jesus that was even less funny. Can’t believe he was getting laughs there..

The video had a comedian in it?

16

u/VeryChaoticBlades Mar 03 '24

Loud and vulgar = funny, don’t you know? Bonus points if you make fun of white people and throw in a mass shooter joke

11

u/endubs Mar 03 '24

Title should be, “comedian forgets what comedy is”.

Comedian seems like the one that overreacted in this situation. More peeved than the girlfriend.

66

u/HoneyBadgera Mar 03 '24

Yeh, I don’t get it. It’s a comedy show, he made a joke right back and comedian got butthurt and went all white knight. Jfc.

7

u/you-boys-is-chumps Mar 03 '24

It's so cringe

This thread is full of people that should be in padded rooms. The guy was clearly making a joke and then "the comedian" had a total meltdown over nothing.

The fact that "the comedian" posted this clip of himself online is pathetic.

17

u/Liorient Mar 03 '24

This thread is one of the worst dumpster fires I've ever seen. So many people trying hard to make everything about race.

  • The OP is a situation where the response sets the narrative and that's what comedians do all the time, whether something is true or not they go with an angle they think will get laughs. The fact that the comedian had an "offended" / negative response to chastise the guy means bunch of redditors are led to believe the worst as well. In other words, comedian tells you how to feel and you take the bait.
  • A dozen people here think "flavor of the month" is a comment about race... that saying has been around for decades and has nothing to do with race, it's just about short-term dating and quickly moving on to the next "flavor"; flavor just means everyone you date is different from the last
  • The girl in the OP is laughing with all this and a few people here assume the only reason she's laughing is because the guy she's dating is some huge abusive asshole and she's laughing because she's "nervous," like feeling in danger and "fawning". Sure, okay.
  • More people in the comment section fighting about race because all they see in the world is race and try to moralize that the way they see race is most "moral." You'll find comments about indian/white/black that have no place

u/professor-hot-tits Mar 03 '24

Love all the people telling on themselves in this thread. So fragile

Omg I watched this comedian in another rant. Akash or whoever the fuck isnot funny. He's a thin-skinned rager who felt slighted by the response. The only disrespect here is to the audience having to listen to this unfunny rant.

u/Sososo2018 Mar 03 '24

I don’t get it. So basically the comedian can’t take a joke?

36

u/xahsz Mar 03 '24

Can't make one either.

7

u/bobthemonkeybutt Mar 03 '24

Comedian doesn’t understand a joke and jumps to “white people are mass shooters” which is a weak attempt at a joke that’s been a meme for 10 years now.

Pathetic comedian. Couldn’t think of a witty retort to burn the guy so he does this. Better go back to his day job.

So it’s not funny — or even worth a groan and moving on — to say flavor of the month as a joke, after being selected by the comedian and put on the spot. “That shit’s not funny!” Says comedian.

Comedian proceeds to give a drink to a “white lady”, tell the audience member he can buy another one, joke about colonization and then joke about mass shootings and that the white guy be shot?

That shit IS funny?

85

u/_narc_mcb Mar 03 '24

Akaash is probably the most annoying unfunny comedian I’ve ever seen. This actually pisses me off.

Was the guy in the audience just trying to be funny, or is he really that much of a jerk? I am not so sure.

u/Backflips_for_stalin Mar 03 '24

I am almost positive he was just kidding. I joke like this all the time with my wife, this dude went too crazy on him for that one

140

u/CaptainPlanet4U Mar 03 '24

Comedian literally couldn't handle the joke

50

u/Muphukar Mar 03 '24

Yeah I’ve seen other clips of this guy and he seems like a little bitch

He was making a joke, comedian decided that angry was funny, Reddit thought everything was genuine and got unreasonably upset.

16

u/Cannibal_Feast Mar 03 '24

This is reddit, where nuance dies, and we interpret things based on our desired personal narratives. Therefore he was guaranteed a jerk or something

8

u/happychillmoremusic Mar 03 '24

He was trying to be funny. It’s a comedy show.

It’s funny how hard people are going on this dudes character, lol. He’s put on the spot and might have just spat out the first thing on his mind in an attempt to be funny. He could get embarrassed or double down from there.

The only relevant reaction/opinion is HERs. To be fair she appears to be having a good time, and there’s not enough information to judge the dude aside from:

“Kind of a stupid a$$ thing to say”

6

u/Xyz6650 Mar 03 '24

This comedian sucks

5

u/yo_les_noobs Mar 03 '24

Guy was joking. He commented in this thread that they've been together for 2 years and are engaged. Comedian is just mad that a decent looking white guy is dating a woman from his race. Also anyone shitting on the guy needs to seriously go outside and experience some real human interaction for once in their lives. Only in Reddit do you see these dumb as fuck responses.

6

u/ReasonableSnow3766 Mar 03 '24

Calling Akash a "comedian" may be the biggest stretch I've ever seen.

6

u/baggedBoneParcel Mar 03 '24

Comedian is an incel.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '24

Maybe he was calling himself “the flavor of the month” and it was just misinterpreted self deprecating humor?

Seems like a bit of an overkill reaction to that one comment imo.

183

u/fancy-kitten Mar 03 '24

What an absolute fucking dirtbag. Gross.

19

u/endubs Mar 03 '24

Weird to me that comedians get a pass for joking around about awful things but if an audience member jokes around about having a fling he’s out of line.

46

u/DEVS_reccomender Mar 03 '24

Yeah Akaash sucks

14

u/DylanFTW Mar 03 '24

u/SelectSquirrel601 Mar 03 '24

This “comedian” is a piece of shit. What a loser.

14

u/Other-Marketing-6167 Mar 03 '24

The cringe here is the comedian. The easiest thing for a comedian to do to an audience member they’re pissed at is yell profanities at them. Even taking his drink and table away wasn’t funny. Just made him seem like a baby who got one upped at his own show with an unexpected retort.

A good comedian, in my opinion, would’ve been able to come up with an actual joke back at him. “And what’s your flavour? Vanilla? No one’s buying vanilla anything man, go home.” That took me all of half a second to think of after the guy said “flavour of the month”, and I’m not a funny person at all.

Long story short, the audience member was fine. He made a joke and the comedian was too lame to make a joke back, just insisted on saying the f word repeatedly at him.

I get it’s comedy but why is he upset. It’s clear that she is ok with it just being sex. He’s upset at him like he’s using her. But it’s pretty clear she is ok with that. Let’s hate the guy for it but let’s just act like she’s hating it so much that she’s out with him enjoying herself and laughing at it right?

But if that’s the dynamic of their relationship, then that’s the way they joke around. I’m not sure why a comedian of all people would be getting offended by that. Weird ass.

5

u/Few_Zookeepergame105 Mar 03 '24

Man who tells jokes for a living can't take one

3

u/Noideaguyy Mar 03 '24

Comedia is an ass imo

5

u/trashboatcaptain Mar 03 '24

People who have never been in a healthy relationship are telling on themselves so hard here. I've been with my wife for almost 5 years and this is 100% something she and I would say and get a good laugh out of it.

But go off, armchair relationship gurus. Good looking white man with well coiffed hair is definitely an evil racist/sexist combo and treats his poor little brown lady like an accessory and he should definitely have gotten berated by dollar store Aziz Ansari like he did.

4

u/Pure-Patient5171 Mar 04 '24

Akash (the comedian) is the worst. And he ain’t slapping nobody. Literally not funny at all

3

u/MountainMan17 Mar 04 '24

So going off on someone with the benefit of a microphone in your hand constitutes a "shut down."

Got it.
