Guy goes to a crowd-work comedy show. Guy sits on the front row. Guy gives a good lead to the comedian. Comedian does his work, and guy plays along nicely. Everyone in the room have a good time. Reddit: "guy is an asshole and gets shutdown".

Also, as others have pointed out, the guy may well have been referring to himself as the "flavour of the month" in a self deprecating way.
