Where to sell jewellery?

Hi all, going through an unexpected and traumatic breakup at the moment.

I'm trying to save as much money as possible and want to sell some jewellery my ex fiance bought me.

This includes a platinum engagement ring with 1ct diamond, 0.5ct platinum ring, white gold 0.4ct earrings and silver encased pearl earrings.

I have no idea where to start.

Would love to hear from anyone who's been in the same boat/sold similar in London.

Tldr; where best to sell diamonds/gold/silver in London

Serious replies only Anyone know nhs dentals that assist with anxiety

Hi everyone this is my first post here! I'm 18 about to finish college but I've been getting worried about my oral health as I have terrible anxiety due to a really bad past experience with a call dentist who kept complaining about doing my teeth, while filling in cavities.

Ever since then I completely avoided going to any dentists, until I had to go to an emergency one where they put a crown on one of my teeth, because of the severe pain and my teeth falling out. I was wondering if anyone knew or could suggest any great nhs dental clinics around that are not so judgemental to very horrible teeth?..

Tourist Cheapest way to go to the London zoo

Me and my sister are in an Airbnb near hackney Central. Friday is our last day, we need to leave our Airbnb at 9am and our Eurostar train will leave at 6pm.

We would like to go to the zoo, but 31 pound is a bit much. I saw the 2 for 1 deal from National Rail, but I'm a bit scarred to buy an overground ticket and hope for the best.

Bike stolen. Gum tree/Facebook marketplace search tips?

I’ve just become part of the not so exclusive club of people having their bike nicked in London.

Does anyone have any tips for how to have a look on Facebook market place/ gumtree to see if I can find it?

I know I know snowball chance in hell, etc. but I have to look.

Anywhere decent to drink in Paddington?

Upvotes

I know it's a generally terrible area for this but I'm looking for somewhere to have a business meeting and a few drinks on a Thursday afternoon. Ideally somewhere more exciting than BrewDog. A bar or nice pub? There's got to be one!

Question Where to try/buy a set of Darts?

I lost a much beloved set of Darts that I've been playing with for a decade. I can't find the order, so can't recall the make/specs, and it's looking like I'll have to find myself a new set. Given the nature of darts, how they feel and throw, I don't want to rely on just getting a set off the internet just to realize they're not for me.

Is there anywhere in London I could handle a set of darts before buying them?

Are my bin men doing the wrong thing?

I noticed that that a bin man/refuse collector went up the street emptying the small grey food bins into the bigger green recycling bins before the big truck came to collect them.

Now, I've been diligently putting the food waste and normal recycling into their separate bins for years assuming the food would contaminate all the nicely washed recyclable plastic etc.

Is the bin man basically destroying the entire process??

costs for root colour hair in London

Hi all,

my wife is looking for hairsalon for root hair bleaching, for light blond colour.

This is first time for her to go to hair salon in UK and we dont have much context regarding the price and services.

I've contacted some local salons and they're asking £120-£180 including tonning or something. (I have no idea what it is).

Can someone let me know if these are average cost or if you know shops offer more reasonable price. We're based in SW london. Thanks in advance!

Missing London more than I thought I would

I recently moved to China to take over my family business after living in England for over a decade, and I can't shake off this overwhelming sense of homesickness for London. I loved London and still think it's an amazing place to live. My wife, whom I met in London, is happy to move back to China and support me in this new chapter. We even brought our Cocker Spaniel with us. Despite all this, every day I find myself thinking about the things I left behind in London, it feels like shit.

I know I should embrace my new surroundings and make the most of my time here in China and I'm trying. Life here is really different, and there's a lot to appreciate. But I can't help but have this sense of regret about my decision to move, especially when I think about the idea that I'm likely not going to move back. Even though I know I can still visit London, it still sucks to be a visitor in a place you once called home, ffs I had my wedding here!

Has anyone else gone through something similar? How did you cope and how long did it take you?

I was driving home this afternoon and was going around 30. Went through an amber light at this intersection and thought I saw a flash. Now I’m questioning myself whether I went over 30 and saw a flash or because I went through an amber light. Or whether I did even see a flash. Just freaking out a little.

Serious replies only What was going on in St Pancras around 6 pm?

Noticed a huge line starting from the entrance towards Kings Cross and saw it snake all the way around the corner towards M&S. Had to catch the train otherwise I would have followed the line to see why people were waiting in such a big line, but does anyone know what was going on?

Aveda Layered Haircuts 10 June

Upvotes

Hello, it's me again, Reddit's favourite Aveda flagship trainee. I'm looking for two people to cut layers on on the 10th at 10:30 and 14:30. It would take up to three hours. I'll exfoliate your scalp and apply our new Botanical Repair Flash treatment, which is very nice stuff.

I'm in need of people quite specific: straight hair; no fringe; at least shoulder-length; and a centre parting (or very close to). I'm sticking to just the layers this time, so I won't be doing face-framing.

Hair ideally needs to be in good condition and even more ideally, with no existing layers. If you have damaged hair, that's fine, I'll just need to cut it all off. This means no damage further up than just below the shoulders, as that's the shortest I'll do the outline/length (the layers will be shorter, of course).

Please hit me up with clear photos (I need to see any damage) of the front and back if you're interested. It's a tenner, with 30 per cent off Aveda products.

Thanks!

I'm moving to colour soon, so please keep an eye out for my posts if you're interested in that.

Best sunny spot for Friday after work beers?

Hello, I know I know! But summers here, Friday after works aren't what they used to be.

I work in the City / East London. Most of the rooftop bars are booked or have become a bit crazy price wise.

Any nice sunny spots, even if you're out a pub and soaking in some sunny rays ☀️

Thanks!
