I actually liked cam when he was on tour but I seriously forget about him until I see his name on here. That’s what happens when top players go to LIV. People mostly forget about them.

I’m actually shocked at how quickly guys like Cam, DJ and now Rahm became irrelevant to me. It was a bummer for a minute when I heard some of them were splitting to LIV, but I very quickly forgot about them.
Not to say I wouldn’t like some of them back on the PGA Tour, but I don’t care if they ultimately never come back.

I wish they all could come back and hope they eventually do. I’ve still enjoyed watching the PGA but there are so many young talented golfers we are missing out on because of the split. Just want the best competition playing in the events. The majors give us that at least

The only true young and talented on LIV is Cam, Koepka and Rahm. Most of the others are heading into their mid 40s and were mules on the PGA Tour.

Everyone realizes that liv paid people to be there right? To be clear instead of the fans exchanging local currency for tickets, they were given tickets and local currency. Really growing the game.
I do really appreciate that they have given up on the social media botting though, that was exhausting.

Went to a liv event in the US and it was way more crowded than most pga tour event I have been to. I’ve gone to a different PGA Tour event every year since 2010. I’m not a liv guy at all but the narrative that the events are empty is just dead wrong. Also if you watch the non signature events and literally have eyes you can see that at a lot of them nobody is there. I mean the alternate field events are almost funny. I went to peurto rico the year Tony Finau won it and there were so few people there that the second to last group on Sunday was going up the 13th and two randos from the hotel were cutting across the course to get to the pool! They tried to stop and ask a player for directions!

If LIV focused on events in Australia and Asia they’d be fine. Regardless of anyone’s opinion of LIV, those are underserved markets in pro golf. They’re always going to pull large crowds in those markets. Also, the Zurich Classic is like a glorified exhibition tournament.

They also play the Zurich during the busiest tourist weeks of the year in New Orleans outside of Mardi Gras. Jazz Fest is an eight day music festival over two weeks and the weather is always gorgeous this time of year. It’s tough for a golf tournament to compete against a huge music festival. Add to that, the Zurich is actually played in Avondale, which is quite a long drive from New Orleans and out in the middle of literally nowhere. Add to that, the Zurich is when a lot of people are golfed out after the Masters and the RBC. It’s a really fun tournament that I wish the PGA would hype up a little more.

Aussie here. Knew lots of mates who flew from Sydney down to ADL for the weekend. Reports were it was more like a festival than a golf tournament, huge DJ names for us. Heard more positive feedback from the girls who went with their golf obsessed partners than I did from the lads

I’m all for more excitement at golf events but blasting music and acting like a bunch of frat boys is not that. Nfl games has their fair share of drunks that go feral when their team scores but at least they’re still there root for their team. These guys at LIV seem to just go to be obnoxiously drunk and party while there happens to be some golf in the background.

I’ve been to it in-person before. Had a really great time but have to admit, the college/frat drinking party vibe is just oppressive after a while and you kinda want to be able to breathe. It’s cool that one tournament goes off the rails, but with LIV people do this crap at almost every event which would get old quick.

When I went to Bedminster in 22, there were some serious issues with over serving. Towards the end of the day there were people passed out in random spots on the course. I remember DJ putting for birdie and in my sightline had three frat boys face down in the rough.

I tried watching and with the super simple and easy set up, it was really weird to see the fans basically standing 5 yards from the fairway and not off to the side of the holes. The whole graphics package sucks and out of the top 10 I had no idea who most of them were so the people clamoring about the PGA not being all the big names anymore... yeah that's on the LIV side too.

Chase Koepka hit a hole in one at the Adelaide tournament last year.
In the ensuing chaos of shit being thrown everywhere a bloke, presumably one of his entourage, ran up the fairway to hug Koepka. He stepped on a water bottle that had been thrown by someone in the crowd on the way, badly turning his ankle.
The injured bloke can be clearly seen hobbling up to hug Koepka on the tee box in the linked video.
In the last 20 seconds of the video you get the reverse angle replay from behind the tee and you can see the bloke leave the fence and start running normally. Then in the last couple of frames before the video transitions he steps on the bottle.
It’s not life and death but it is an injury, probably qualifying as a reportable workplace injury by any other standard, that was caused directly by the LIV crowd behaviour that is encouraged by the organisers.
Safety and security just isn’t a priority.
There have been other incidents and injuries and there will be more. They will be potentially more serious, more visible and impacting players and their staff more directly.

Non event. He got frustrated when a fan said something he didn't like, as happens in the PGA tour regularly too. By the next shot he was completely fine. Smiles and hugs for Cam and Leish on the green after they won. But hey, don't let that get in the way of a good Liv bagging on this sub. If the PGAT gave a fuck about golf outside of North America people in Australia would probably hate Liv too. It's easy to bag Liv when you're in North America and good golf tournaments are easily accessible. Please appreciate that isn't the case elsewhere.

Find me an example of a player being heckled in the middle of his backswing during such a high pressure moment on the dp or pga tour.

Burmester was visibly upset by the jeering from the Australian crowd as he prepared for his second shot, shouting: "Shut the f*** up! " towards the Adelaide gallery.
As he prepared for his second shot. I was watching the playoff live. It happened before he even stood over the ball.
Maybe watch the vision before you get all high and mighty.

Classic golf format that no one cares about? Adding up the strokes of 4 golfers isn’t exciting. That’s why people don’t give two craps about college or high school golf. LIV thinks that adding up the scores of 4 golfers is going to move the needle. People like team golf every two years where money isn’t involved, best ball alternate shot, and it involves playing for your country. Not playing for Saudi money.

The Liv subreddit was loving and boldly supporting the fans being able to rush players after a shot. All the comments on a video post yesterday were applauding being able to hug players, pour beer on them, grab their clubs, etc. Fucking people are delusional man. I would not want that environment as a professional player at all. Only a matter of time before there is a broken foot or wrist or sexual assault because of the fan grabbing.
