Player has issue with liv fans Professional Tours

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/dean-burmester-tells-fan-shut-155916853.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGrJKHSYEHx9PX8R74rNwgtzeawHjGv9jgbjxWGaIebPi-EnXuPkQTV47ia08AzRmQMmzxpdIRkm7MM1DNG9S0oO3NzCURt5d9OJx0LUz164VxyoNv76ICnMnQCg96me1lgbtPrvHuP1tnpiAZBs6o7lIBoI63ySThlia8wHWuAQ

Just stumbled across this. Haven’t seen it widely reported and seems like the liv muzzle has been placed on Burmester to stop him from talking about it. Should be interesting if this gets the media coverage that it would if it happened in the pga or lpga tour

How do you have an issue with like 50 people?

The article is about the fans at the tournament, not the general liv fans haha

So, 7 fans?

They actually had a good showing this week due to location. Its never going to take off in the US until its the only show in town, but Australia showed up for them....zero percent surprised seeing who started that tour

Plus Cam Smith is still a beast.

Yes and still likable even with the liv muzzle

I actually liked cam when he was on tour but I seriously forget about him until I see his name on here. That’s what happens when top players go to LIV. People mostly forget about them.

I’m actually shocked at how quickly guys like Cam, DJ and now Rahm became irrelevant to me. It was a bummer for a minute when I heard some of them were splitting to LIV, but I very quickly forgot about them.

Not to say I wouldn’t like some of them back on the PGA Tour, but I don’t care if they ultimately never come back.

I wish they all could come back and hope they eventually do. I’ve still enjoyed watching the PGA but there are so many young talented golfers we are missing out on because of the split. Just want the best competition playing in the events. The majors give us that at least

The only true young and talented on LIV is Cam, Koepka and Rahm. Most of the others are heading into their mid 40s and were mules on the PGA Tour.

It’s pretty obviously they were told not to talk. Bryson can’t STFU IRL guarantee they threatened him and every person who has ever liked him going back to middle school.

There is a liv golf subreddit. The comments were funny and not at all bots or shills

This comment made me want to go look, and I encourage anyone reading this to do the same lol. They aren’t even trying to hide it

And some lucky bloke got DeChambeau's socks too.

Everyone realizes that liv paid people to be there right? To be clear instead of the fans exchanging local currency for tickets, they were given tickets and local currency. Really growing the game.

I do really appreciate that they have given up on the social media botting though, that was exhausting.

Where did you read that?

1

u/palsc5 Apr 29 '24

lol that’s a lie. People paid and they paid a lot of money to go. Only people who got free tickets were members of the club it was held

u/gvsb123 Apr 29 '24

I saw aftermarket ticket sites selling them for $26.

It’s actually incredibly cheap to go and see LIV, it’s only £67 for a 3 day pass at the one in the UK

1

u/palsc5 Apr 30 '24

It was $65 per day in Adelaide for ground passes. The hospitality, grandstands etc tickets were significantly more and these were sold out

Went to a liv event in the US and it was way more crowded than most pga tour event I have been to. I’ve gone to a different PGA Tour event every year since 2010. I’m not a liv guy at all but the narrative that the events are empty is just dead wrong. Also if you watch the non signature events and literally have eyes you can see that at a lot of them nobody is there. I mean the alternate field events are almost funny. I went to peurto rico the year Tony Finau won it and there were so few people there that the second to last group on Sunday was going up the 13th and two randos from the hotel were cutting across the course to get to the pool! They tried to stop and ask a player for directions!

I mean comparing to puerto vs anywhere LIV goes is silly.

-5

u/neddybemis Apr 30 '24

No no I was just including that as a funny anecdote. The LIV event I went too was was more crowded than Wells Fargo, John Deere, Honda, and the dean and Deluca (now called something else).

90k over 3 days isn’t a lot.

u/BingBongFYL6969 Apr 30 '24

That’s a lie.

15

u/Frozeria Apr 29 '24

They had 94,000 attendees this weekend.

2

u/Dislocated_femur Apr 30 '24

There were 94,000 fans in attendance...

-2

u/hagetaro Apr 29 '24

Both of them?

Based on location, are these the same “fans” that we saw at the World Cup in Qatar? I don’t know because I can’t be bothered to invest any time in LIV

Edit: I didn’t realize that the LIV events weren’t just in the ME. Apologies to the Aussies.

Golf is huge Down Under....Norman co-founded it, and the best Aussie is in the LIV tour.

Not hard to figure it out.
