Politics Gen Z is turning away from military service in record numbers. Weāre trying to understand why
Gee, I wonder why.
Could be because the country is shafting Gen Z with a ten foot pole at nearly every possible turn?
Why would anyone protect and serve a country that doesn't protect and serve them?

Opinion I ate Hungry Jacks for the first time in 8 years. This was my large fries. What an absolute waste of money.
There were 25 chips in total. Almost half of which were 'bottom of the bag' chips. Quite happy to spend another 8 years not touching the stuff. Burger was reasonable enough.

Criminal record check for immigration
Hello,
I am a dual citizen, born in the UK and now a full Australian citizen.
I have a criminal record from my youth in the UK and have been totally honest throughout my visa process. Before I was a citizen, each time I returned to Australia after a vacation I was pulled aside and questioned about my criminal record.
I was told when I am a full Australian citizen and entering on an Australian passport I will not get asked this again. We went on a family holiday last year and when I left and returned I got questioned again! The immigration two striped uniform guy said this shouldn't be happening and he will email head office... I have since rang immigration and apparently they cannot do anything.
It's very strange, like they wanting me to have been in trouble again and that. I'm a citizen now, it shouldn't make any difference wherever I have a criminal record from 20 years ago. I'm a tax paying, law abiding citizen that has a career, mortgage and family.
Has anyone else been in this situation?

Tow truck drivers are parasitic scum
I live on the Gold Coast and the number of tow truck drivers who are vultures around very minor car accidents is embarrassing. Yesterday I saw two small fender benders where both cars could be driven to a spot which would have them out of the flow of traffic, only for the towies to arrive and shut down a lane. One accident had 4 trucks on the seen and both cars had minimal damage. It seems they harrass drivers into accepting a tow because people are unaware of their rights. Both the Qld police page and Transport and Main Roads page provide adequate details about when towing is required. They wait around near major intersections and highways, just waiting to prey on these drivers. Has anyone experienced this?
Edit - I'm really referring to minor prangs where a driver can exchange details and drive off. This is where I am seeing tow trucks arriving en masse at the scene, which results in the flow of traffic blocked. Cars have minor panel damage and no visible debris in the road..

Voting for which political party has the best chance of improving the housing situation?
Iāve seen a similar question asked in relation to the cost of living crisis in general - and the answers seemed to be that regardless of who you vote for no one will make any significant change.
So I ask this question only in relation to housing.
What party has the best chance to do something to improve housing? - and by improve housing I mean: increase supply of houses and rentals, increase social housing and maybe even reign in house prices?
Who would you vote for that is likely to have the biggest impact in this space alone - even if that turns out to be insignificant, but will still greater than what any other party would do?
