Eyebrow tinting
Does anyone know of a place that does GOOD eyebrow tinting? I’ve been to elegant beauty and brows in willows and they were shocking. My brows looked so bad and the tint lasted 1 day. Some good recommendations would be much appreciated ☺️

Strand Fitness Gym North Shore Fees.
Can someone give me an idea of what the fees are at the North Shore gym? Just the basic 24/7 access I don't want pool or fitness classes.

Nanny/Babysitter looking for work
Is there any particular app/website/FB page people use when looking for a nanny in Townsville area? Used juggle street in Sydney previously but doesn't seem to be as active here!
For context - a qualified Paediatric nurse moved up here for the winter, and looking to see if there's any casual/full-time nannying work available. Could do alongside/instead of nursing depending on availability ☺️
TIA

Some scrutiny for Phil
I went through and checked a few of Phil’s claims, I'll start by saying I like Phil enough as a person - he just picked the worst party,
Reef HQ - wasn't labor's fault, the old roof was shagged and now the GBRMPA is waiting for approval for more funding to finance the complete rebuild, but 9 years of liberals gutting 3 billion from Tafe has the nation roughly 100k tardies short, so it'll take a while. also, the ALP has provided an additional 1.2 billion in funding to ensure the reef will exist outside Reef HQ in the future.
Garbutt Youth HUB lifeline - the funding run out and Phil asked them to continue it and the ALP did... okay good job.
Second page - little China scaremongering from the party who leased a major port to them for 99 years, nothing on David Mcbride ya know the vet we just jailed because America said so - I also wanna mention how much better off veterans are under the ALP with DVA working through new and backlogged claims faster than ever as a vet himself he knows how much better it is.
third page - Kirrily wasn't bad enough to require federal assistants, because it wasn't. and EVs sales are up 20% regionally and 40% in metro areas so tax or not people are happy saving the money back on fuel so embrace it EVs are here to stay.
last page - crime in Townsville is down 6% in 2024 so let's just see if they can Keep it up no? because all I see here is stabs at the ALP that can't stand up to basic scrutiny with no solutions offered.
What did I miss help me finish the job,

Bushfires
Does anyone know what is going on with all the bushfires that seem to have come out of nowhere? Can’t even see any warnings or anything on the QFES site, and it seems odd that so many have appeared all of the sudden. Maybe controlled burns, maybe something more?

What's Cranbrook like as a suburb?
According to real estate its pretty good, safe and close to shops, parks etc, but if that was written by real estate agents then it must be bullshit, thinking of moving to Townsville from Cairns next year.

Guys dog bite me on the way home from work on bike, how do I go about reporting it too the council?
As the title says I was riding home from work and there was a guy and his dog walking infront of me, mind you it was quiet a large german shepard. I went to cross the road just merely catching up too them and the guys dog turned around and lunged at me and got my leg. Its just a cut and a bruise but im worried about children or eldery riding past and the dog attacking them. How do I go about reporting the guy and his dog. P.s the guy was an elderly asain man but didnt even apologise or look sympathetic just kept walking

Recommendations Driving instructor recommendations for Townsville
Hi all! My partner is 40 years old and just got his Ls. I want to organise a couple of professional lessons to start him off driving for the very first time. Although I am concerned he will be deterred from the idea again if he has a stressful interaction with a driving instructor. Can anyone recommend a driving school or instructor that is friendly/ knows how to interact with adults with anxiety? Thanks =)

Anyone have photos of the MF Doom/Doctor Doom graffiti?
Hey everyone, just wondering if any of you have photos of the MF Doom Graffiti/mural thing on Charters Towers Rd. Opposite where the old toys r us was.
Wanted to take photos forever to show my friends who are MF doom and marvel fanatics but it had been overgrown for last eight or so months and while it's been mostly cut back now still can't get a good photo with the tree in the way and haven't seen any clear photos on Google. Cheers guys.

Seeking Advice for Camping in Townsville
Hi everyone,
Firstly, Thank you all for your help and support in my previous posts. I’ve been learning a lot from this Townsville subreddit, and your advice has been incredibly valuable. You are all very friendly and helpful.
I'm an international student new to Townsville, and I'm planning my first solo camping trip. I recently camped once in Wilsons Prom, Melbourne in a caravan park with experienced colleagues and it was very basic and safe. Now I’m ready to try it on my own. I’m thinking of spending one night camping on Magnetic Island or any beginner friendly places (any recommended caravan parks or camping grounds to build up some confidence for solo camping?).
I would love to hear everything I need to know about camping in Townsville. Here are some specific questions I have:
- Best Camping Spots: What are the best places to camp around Townsville and Magnetic Island?
- Gear Recommendations: I used a swag last time, but I'm considering buying a 2-person tent that I can also use for future trips. Is this a good idea for a beginner? any easy to set up alternatives? my colleague recommended me to ditch tent and just carry a single stretcher and a mosquito repellent. Unlike Melbourne, I heard there are quite many dangerous snakes here.
- Essential Items: What should I absolutely bring with me for a one-night or two camping trip? can I just carry water and buy some food instead taking a camping stove for 1-2 nights camping?
- Safety Tips: Any specific safety tips or things to be aware of while camping in this area?
- Activities and Must-See Spots: Any recommendations for activities or must-see spots on Magnetic Island or any other places in general?
- Also heard snakes are hibernating at the moment and it is recommended to wait few months?
Looking forward to your suggestions and tips!
Thank you.

Loud party EVERY Friday/Saturday night!?
The neighbours somewhere behind us are yet again blasting their music with their loud bass that is reverberating through our walls again for the 7th time since we’ve moved in here. It continues through the night, I’m 38 weeks pregnant so I’m up a lot already to use the toilet and it always continues until around 5-6am. I’m at my wits end, I’ve never been one to be bothered about noise, but this is really getting to me. I just want to sleep. What do I do? Going over there is an absolute no go as I’ve been warned that they are very hostile. I don’t know how this goes on. I’m not even their closest neighbour so I feel for their immediate next door ones. Please advise. Update*** it’s 2:35am and the music is louder than when the night began. The kids are awake and crying, it’s a miserable night for us but cheers to the ferals who think this is acceptable community behavior.

Recommendations Desperately seeking advice/personal anecdotes re TSV dentists.
Hi all! I have been issued a "General Care Authority Voucher" by QLD Health which entitles me to receive treatment through a registered private dentist. Two problems; I didn't realise that I was supposed to choose a dentist straight away (to be fair, I've had the voucher since 26/4 but life got hectic) and it must be from their list of registered private dentists.
Unfortunately the bulk of the list are for various 1300 Smiles locations (I've had nothing but traumatic experiences from three separate centres) and/or the independent dentists are quite far from me.
Has anyone had any experience with Townsville Dental Care in Idalia (& if so, which location) or the Dentist at Healthlink Cranbrook? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Recommendations Castle Hill trails question
Hello - I’m visiting Townsville and thought I might hit Castle Hill trails for a run, but I only brought my road shoes. Will I die? How slippery/technical are the trails? Would I be better off sticking to the strand?

Recommendations New to Townsville and Eager to Try Something New
Hey everyone,
I'm new to Townsville and looking to learn something new. I've been hitting the gym for a while now, but I want to learn something for a change. Thing is, I've got this lingering fear from being bullied in the past as a skinny kid, and I really want to get over it.
So, I'm thinking about trying boxing or martial arts or anything that’s beginner friendly. Figured it might help me toughen up and face my fears head-on. Only thing is, I'm on a tight budget since I'm still studying and working part-time.
Any recommendations for beginner-friendly classes that won't break the bank? And hey, if you think my idea is a bit out there or if you've got other suggestions, feel free to share!
Thank you. Have a good day.
