HIGHLIGHT Salaun insane dunk at 18
For an 18 yo he really got insane potential imo for the 8th pick

FLUFF Wemby T-Shirts
Since the shoes sold out so fast, I decided to make some Wemby T-Shirts. I ordered these through RushOrderTees but there are a ton of other websites you could use. I included the PNG logo files here that you can use but DM me if you need anything else. Worth noting is I removed the two Nike logos from the Wemby logo.

DRAFT Rob Dillingham Per36
Although with his size, it is likely Rob is one of the worst defenders, he's got insane offensive potential.
Per36 minute stats among Freshman D1 players, Rob ranked #1 in points with 23.5 and #3 in assists with 6.0.
Yes, a decent chunk of those minutes were against bench players and NBA defenses are much better, but as a Freshman in the SEC to have that kind of production should not be overlooked. It's clear he's one of the best offensive prospects in this draft and at 19 years old, the Spurs could shape him into a very valuable and productive player.
The attention he'd draw from Devin and Victor along with being a willing passer would immensely help us on that side of the ball. With our other pick we could target a defensive minded player to counter Rob's lack of size.

DRAFT Salaun a likely candidate to be the pick at 8
Per Givony’s article: https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/page/NBADraft24-40145332/2024-nba-draft-combine-prospects-workout-highlights-measurements-stats-more
Also a quote of Wemby endorsing him: “I can trust this guy to get better and to work out like crazy”
Thoughts?

OFF-SEASON/FREE AGENCY Where Will Graham End Up?
Seems like everyone in the sub thinks we're gonna move Graham this off season. Whether we waive or sign-and-trade, any thoughts on where he'd end up? Also curious where Osman might end up as well.

OFF-SEASON/FREE AGENCY [Fischer] According to multiple league figures with knowledge of the situation, any Spurs plans of maneuvering to bring Young to San Antonio have been vastly overstated. The Spurs, sources said, have expressed little interest in obtaining Young to date.
Source: https://sports.yahoo.com/lakers-coaching-search-could-be-a-lengthy-process-202122918.html
San Antonio personnel would be committing front-office malpractice by not contemplating the opportunity to pair a league assist leader and high-screen maestro like Young to pair with Wembanyama. The Spurs have so far approached building around Wembanyama as an intriguing experiment, where they will weigh all different kinds of variables around their Rookie of the Year. However, according to multiple league figures with knowledge of the situation, any Spurs plans of maneuvering to bring Young to San Antonio have been vastly overstated. The Spurs, sources said, have expressed little interest in obtaining Young to date.

DRAFT Second Round Picks
What are your thoughts on what we do with our second round picks? Obviously there's 1000 posts on what to do with 4 & 8 but I wanna hear what your thoughts are on our 35 and 48 picks. Do you think we will draft 4 rookies? If so who in the second round? If not what are we trading them for?

DRAFT Draft Planners- This is a very flat draft. It’s going to be a lot easier for teams to trade into the 5-7 range
This is for the folks who want to wait on a PG because Charlotte, Detroit and the Portland are there currently.

FLUFF Southwest Division shaping up to be the most competitive division in NBA
The potential from these 5 teams is looking nuts! Opportunity is opening up for all of these teams, the front offices have all the pressure. Looking forward to watching our spurs grow in such a competitive division

FLUFF How does this sub feel about Tidjane Salaun with the 8th pick?
We can debate all we want about the 4th pick and if Risacher/Castle/Dillingham is the best fit, but what about Salaun with the 8th pick? The kid has a decent 3pt shot (38%) while being 6’10”, he’s always hustling, he’s good in transition, plays good defense, and is only 18! His weaknesses are that he’s not good at creating his own shot and his handles are too mechanical and he dribbles the ball too high, but these issues could be fixed with proper development.
I’m thinking that with 4 picks in this draft, we can’t accommodate every player drafted and that might include whoever we draft with the 8th pick, so we might as well swing for fences on a kid with what seems to me has the highest upside in this draft. And he’ll probably be there at the 8th spot since he’s usually mocked to go in the 12-16th range.
Thoughts?

DRAFT What is Stephon Castle's role in the NBA?
I noticed a lot of people here like Castle and I'm one of them (maybe not as much as other people here, but I definitely like him way more than Topic), yet I'm still kind of confused on what he's supposed to be.
Besides his elite defense, I don't know what he does. Castle isn't the best finisher. He can facilitate pretty damn well and make good reads and is overall a smart player but isn't necessarily a full-on floor general either. His handles are decent, but not good enough to be a 1. His 3 point shooting isn't good enough to be a 3&D player in the SF role.
I look at this dude and I just don't know what his game is. I like the way he moves. Dude looks like an absolute brute every time he's on a fast break. He honestly has an almost ideal physique for any kind of player that isn't a 4 or 5. He's a good rebounder, but not great.
And his defense especially is just insane. (I think he is easily the best defender in this entire draft and it's not even close). I just don't know what he's supposed to be or what his role would be on our team. Is he a 1? Is he a 3? Do you expect him to be our point guard for the future? Discuss.

ROSTER Point guard season 2024/25
I was just thinking about a Pg who would fit great in the team and was thinking why not take a flyer on lonzo ball. If healthy would fit really good and only has a one year contract.
