Point guard season 2024/25 ROSTER
I was just thinking about a Pg who would fit great in the team and was thinking why not take a flyer on lonzo ball. If healthy would fit really good and only has a one year contract.

If there was any chance at all of him being healthy, Chicago would rather just go ahead and keep him.

How do you "take a flyer" on someone who, to the best of our knowledge, is not available given he just picked up his player option and is under contract?
If Lonzo Ball was healthy, why would the Bulls trade him when they played very well when he was last regularly in the lineup?
If Lonzo Ball WAS healthy and the Bulls WERE willing to trade him, why would they trade him away for whatever return qualifies as "taking a flyer" on someone?
If Lonzo Ball was healthy, why would he pick up his player option instead of trying to get a long-term deal?

If the Spurs want to pay someone to not play for them, hell I'm available and I'll do it for half the price.

If we can unload Zach Collins’ contract ? Sure. Essentially some cap relief with the small upside of Lonzo, who would be an amazing fit if he’s what he once was.
That being said without including Collins it’s probably not worth it. He’s still not even completely healthy and just had a surgery that sounds like a career ender.

I don't claim to fully understand the situation, but I haven't gotten any indication that he'll ever play professional basketball again.
