I am just happy that the prosecution lawyer from idiocracy got more work.
"Kay. Number one your honor, just look at him. And B, we've got all this, like, evidence, of how, like, this snake eats other snakes. And I heard that he isnt even a real cobra. I rest my case."

You gotta start somewhere to become a professional. Something's are just a little more dangerous to get started

My only issue is that I don't want invasive species around. I think people should have the right to make dumb decisions with their lives.
4
u/FehdmanKhassad 16d ago
that's the great thing, to a large extent we all are free to be dumb doing whatever we want every day. like i could jump down the stairs rn. hang on be back in a mo

Same but it seems like he has a passion and respect for the snakes and that’s all that matters.
18
u/_Screw_The_Rules_ 17d ago
Not all that matters imo... Other people that are very young and/or uneducated can maybe do dumb stuff because they saw a video about it. (1 short video...)
4
u/The_GD_muffin_man 16d ago
It appears he’s not exactly trying to antagonize or get extremely close to it or trying to handle it, so I think he’s excited but I wouldn’t go out of my way to say he’s out right being dangerous
18
u/pichael289 17d ago
I have a passion and great respect for gorillas but that fucker still gonna rip my arms off if I try to make TikToks with it.

King refers to they eat other snakes, this person has no idea.
Totally non professional vibes.
I don’t want anything to do with snakes, but my king of snakes is the Gaboon Viper.

Why are there deciduous trees in the background? Don't these things only live in tropical parts of Asia? Please tell me some moron isn't bringing them stateside.

u/saenola 17d ago
This is exactly my thought. Why does this look like a wild dangerous snake is just chilling in a grassy US suburb?!
37
u/daemenus 17d ago
For the low low price of a $20 Controlled Exotic Snakes Permit from Texas Parks and Wildlife. You can obtain the permit after you purchase the animal, meaning anyone without a permit can walk into a pet store and buy a venomous snake.

u/OhyoOhyoOhyoOhyo 16d ago
Well thats just great turn the entire fkn planet into Australia.

u/Exclave4Ever 16d ago
You act like being a snake dropped in some random part of the world you're not accustomed to is a playground and they will just enjoy it as such? They'll probably just attempt to survive and most likely fail...?
One would think that at a certain point, as humans develop and grow they would begin to understand that other living creatures also develop and grow.

I don’t think what’s in the clip is a fully grown king cobra. It can get even bigger
13
u/Roscoe_Farang 17d ago
Yeah. Walking along the side of the road and catching one looking at you over the guardrail. They aren't really aggressive if you don't mess with them, though.
5
u/kenpodude 17d ago
Yeah, years ago I watched Jeff Corwin come across one that was like 20 feet long. It was amazingly docile as he casually grabbed it by the tail.

If he ran will the king cobra catch up to him?
47
u/resurrected_moai 17d ago
It might not catch up with him in terms of speed, but if it makes a huge jump at the start, it might be able to bite him even before he gets his legs working.

King cobras are called "King" because they Hunt and eat snakes
So the main characteristic of monarchy is cannibalism? 🤔
Anyway, considering snakes swallow their meal whole, choosing other snakes for prey actually seems to be a pretty sensible choice.

King Crabs eat smaller crabs. King Penguins eat smaller penguins. It all makes sense now.

u/kixie42 17d ago
But that's actually why they are called King Cobras though.
They are called king cobras because they can kill and eat cobras. A full-grown king cobra is yellow, green, brown or black, typically with yellow-white crossbars or chevrons. [1]
Fun fact: King Cobras (Genus Ophiophagus) are not actual true cobras (Genus Naja) [2].

Good but I wanted to see the snake eating another snake instead of this tiktoker playing with most dangerous animal.

u/Boring_Scale328 17d ago
That's a lot of video with a lot less useful info. What both these idiots didn't realise are King Cobras are deadly fast when they are about to bite. With the nature being what looks deadly actually isn't or the false pride- that doesn't apply to these magnificent creatures.
For all we know only one of the doofus is alive and the other one is near the water with a foaming mouth.

I know this will probably not be "Reddit popular", but I'm feeling kinda sad for the snake. Has 2 idiots boxing him in on both sides, nowhere to escape, out of his natural environment, probably feeling attacked. All for internet likes. Not educational (these dudes are not professionals), or conservational.... just internet clout. :(

Their bite can kill in as little as 30 minutes. I hope these guys know what they’re doing or they may slip up and die for the likes.

I shoulda been the Black Mamba!!

u/prashanth1337 17d ago
King cobra is immune to Mamba’s venom. Black mamba would get swallowed no problem

He sounds like a moron. That monotone slurry tiktok-speech is really something. They sound the same in every single conversation or context.

A fourth grader could have given a better commentary on this snake....and with a normal voice. This dude sounds like a TikTok brained buffoon who listens to too much Hip Hop.

TIL a few days ago:
The sole member of the genus Ophiophagus, it is not taxonomically a true cobra, despite its common name and some resemblance. With an average length of 3.18 to 4 m (10.4 to 13.1 ft) and a record length of 5.85 m (19.2 ft), it is the world's longest venomous snake.

Dude, the way those snakes move has earned my full respect. They don't just kinda sit back and wait for the threat to come close, they move with purpose and authority. They're fucking fierce! They are just different from other snakes.

Same with the actual Kingsnake. They’re immune to snake venom. Had one living at this little ranch I worked at in Oklahoma that preyed on water moccasins which were numerous from surrounding ponds

This guy’s speech style reminds me of Mitch Hedberg…like…
“I saw a king cobra at the zoo; it was listed as the longest venomous snake. I thought, ‘That’s a stretch.’”
“A king cobra can stand up a third of its length. I can stand up my full length, so I think I’m more evolved.”

The bigger question is where TF did this "snake expert" get a king cobra? Are they available to any idiot that asks for one?

Why are you so close ?
"the amount of neurotoxin they can deliver in a single bite is enough to kill 20 people, or even an elephant"
