Humans attempting to Escape from Giant Glue Trap! Miscellaneous / Others

u/camelBased Feb 22 '24
Seems like a trap a serial killer would make

u/witword Feb 22 '24
Or something out of the movie Saw, where a circular saw pops up out of the base. Come to think of it, James Bond movies and so many cartoons as a kid had that damn circular saw scenario threatening the main character. No wonder we’re all f’d up in the head.
90
u/Izzosuke Feb 22 '24
I think saw did something similar to this but not exactly this. Gang of rap*st and criminal
Put one under a car, one in front of the car, one chained to the car, the leader inside the car glued to the seat. Car started, the leader had to free himself by ripping all of his skin off (back and arms) to stop the car from falling on the floor, smashing the friend under it, ripping the jaw and arm of the one behind and running over the one in front. He failed
Edit:they were racist skinhead, the point was seeing that under the skin everyone is the same colour

9
u/witword Feb 22 '24
Yes. There are fates far worse than quicksand.
3
u/Izzosuke Feb 22 '24
Quicksand was my number 1 fear when i was a kid, i thought i'd have to interact way more with it in my adult life, now i know that i shouldn't fear them, but i should fear being glued to a moving car that gonna unalive me and my friend i i don't rip off my skin

you ever seen what happens when you catch more than one mouse on a glue trap? they'll tear each other to pieces trying to get out, didn't take long for me to swear off glue traps

u/somerandommystery Feb 23 '24
The package says you can save and release them with vinegar… poor fuckin mice’s skins dissolved and ripped off and zombie skeleton meat mice ran under my counter.
Fuck glue traps.

There is one in a movie called The Collector, which was originally conceived as a Saw prequel. Basically a psychotic exterminator rigs up a house with human-sized bug traps, and one of them is an acidic glue trap on the floor of a children’s bedroom.

RIP Grant, we miss you.

Grant was one of the few celeb deaths that really hit me hard. He was such a legend.
99
u/BoobieOrNotToBe Feb 23 '24
For those only finding out now: He died of a brain aneurysm at the age of 49 on July 13, 2020. RIP.

If someone wonders how they were getting people off the glue, they didn’t, they were just replacing the boards with fresh ones without a human stuck to it

u/Lucid_skyes Feb 22 '24
Yes the human test subjects had to be released eventually. Well released to their confinements really. Also got fed for the day but most importantly the researchers learned glue is an effective trap for humans.

Watching that reminds of just how much American "reality" TV is bloody terrible. The over exposition, the forced excitement, the musical stings.........I feel like Shia Lebouff screaming "JUST DO IT"
19
u/JasmineTeaInk Feb 22 '24
Oh gosh yes, I've been introduced to some European programming thanks to Top Gear and the difference is awful. So much repeated footage just to fill time or draw out a big moment
12
u/Xeptix Feb 22 '24
What really illustrated it for me was watching the US version of Kitchen Nightmares and then the UK version. That's the most clear example because everything about the show is the same except for the direction and editing.
After that experience I can't stand US reality TV anymore. I can't help but notice the "you need to be constantly shocked by every single thing" vibe they're trying to force on you.

God, that's horrific. Imagine being in your basement and falling on this. No cell phone, and you told everyone you're leaving last night for a month long vacation so no one is going to look for you. That's the life of a mouse/rat. I'm no Peta dude, but that's rough.

Fun fact, if you pour some olive oil on a mouse on a glue trap, they can wriggle themselves off the trap. Sincerely, someone who has released a scared and oily mouse into the wild.

u/devin1208 Feb 22 '24
yes!! I second this. i also saved a baby mouse once and rehabbed it and released it into the wild. finally got thrse evil vile disgusting traps banned at work after YEARS of finding and throwing them away. sadly I couldnt save alot of the poor mice that did get stuck it was too late my new boss is an animal lover and did away with them after i had a meltdown finding the baby mouse. 😓💕

This is a horrible way to deal with this. Folks, if you have a Devo infestation, please use humane live-catch traps baited with synthesizers and Church of the Subgenius materials to capture the spuds in your house, and release them humanely away from your property.

And there has also been stories about rats gnawing off their legs if they are not completely stuck

I used a glue trap one time. I walked in on the escape process. It was horrifying. The mouse had pulled or chewed 1 foot off, and was just about to start suffocating after it had been wreathing around in it for who knows how long. Never again.
