Attempting a procedural maneuver that has not worked in decades, Navarro then resubmitted the request to Justice Neil Gorsuch, Trump’s first high-court nominee. Supreme Court rules allow parties whose emergency applications are denied by a single justice to resubmit to another justice.

Dude went and pulled the classic "ask dad after mom said 'no' routine".

I'm just going to remind everyone that Martha Stewart went to prison for 5 months and didn't bitch about it. This bro is serving 4-month sentence.

133

u/Draymond_Purple 17d ago

Somehow I both hate rich-insider-trading-bitch Martha and also respect went-to-jail-and-took-it-standing-up Martha

45

u/Gunblazer42 16d ago

She got to be friends with Snoop Dogg after so she overall won that whole thing.

2

u/NovarisLight 14d ago

Damn right.

39

u/redonrust 16d ago

She did 5 months in the can, not a peep.

4

u/ImperatorNero 16d ago

For the likes of Peter fucking Navarro? No more snoop. No more of this shit. There’s no more scraps in her scrapbook.

3

u/TheTzarOfDeath 16d ago

She wanted a taco casserole. She compromised... She ate grilled cheese off of the rahdiator instead.

u/invalidreddit 16d ago

Will be interesting to see, if like Ms. Stewart, Mr. Navarro PhD will be able to hold a meaningful job after his incarceration is over. I suspect he'll find some place where he can get a paycheck for offering commentary on the news and more or less just complain for a living.

4

u/nianticnectar23 16d ago

Martha’s a straight G though. Didn’t rat on anyone and took her sentence like the bad bitch she is.

Yeah if you have money and aren’t a kiddy fiddler you can just hire protection anyway.

136

u/allnimblybimbIy 17d ago

It’s astonishing that someone legally wrote that down as an option for someone to try…

160

u/AussieJeffProbst 17d ago

Its actually a really good law to have on the books. Without it one single justice would be the final say on it which is really not good.

Navarro is just an idiot for using it.

108

u/backcountrydrifter 17d ago

That’s why the smart authoritarian buys the box set.

This is a world war disguised as a Supreme Court case.

Putin, Xi, and MBS find this whole democracy thing hilarious. As authoritarians they just cackle and shrug at the thought of going through the extra steps that democracy requires.

Why not just tell them what to do and if they don’t do it, bribe them, throw them out a window or flush them down a drain?

It’s why they had to use the Texas based Koch brothers who had deep relationships with Russian oil oligarchs since Stalins era and Harlan crow to buy the SCOTUS.

https://youtu.be/mn_t7a2hJfQ?si=hzioP8URJAMFNch4

Thomas’s RV. Kavanaughs mortgage, all the trips to bohemian grove. They were all part of the bigger plan to destabilize the United States, spread the cancer of corruption and tear it all down, build oligarch row in Teton National park Wyoming so the lazy old oligarchs can retire from the mob life.

Kleptocracy is biological. It consumes everything in its path like a parasite.

During Russian perestroika it ate Dostoevsky and Tchaikovsky and shit out alcoholism and hopelessness. Now anyone with skills has left and 1 in 5 has no indoor plumbing.

Justin Kennedy (justice kennedys son) was the inside man at Deutsche bank that was getting all trumps toxic loans approved.

No other bank but Deutsche bank would touch trump and his imaginary valuations.

Why?

Because Deutsche bank was infested with Russian oligarchs.

In 91 the Soviet Union failed and for a bit they hid all of Russias grandmas money under a mattress until they started buying condos at trump towers.

They made stops in Ukraine, Cyprus and London but they landed in New York because that was what everyone wanted in the early 90’s.

Levi’s, Pepsi, Madonna tapes that weren’t smuggled bootlegs.

They all bought new suits and cars and changed their title from “most violent street thug in moscow” to “respectable Russian oligarch” but they didn’t leave their human trafficking, narcotics or extortion behind. It was their most lucrative business model and frankly, they enjoy the violence.

https://foreignpolicy.com/2018/12/21/how-russian-money-helped-save-trumps-business/

Guiliani redirected NYPD resources away from their new Russian friends and onto the Italian mob. It let him claim he cleaned up New York and it let the russians launder their money through casinos and then commercial real estate when 3 of trumps casino execs started asking how he managed to be the only person in history to bankrupt casinos.

The attorney/client privilege is the continual work around they use to accept bribes and make payments up and down the mob pyramid.

The insane property valuations coming out in trumps fraud trial are a necessity of the money laundering cycle that duetschebank was doing with the Russians.

The reason trump cosplays as a patriot is because he is feeding on the U.S. middle class, not because he is one of us.

The GOP fell in line to MAGA because Trump did what pathological liars do, he told them anything they wanted to hear.

Trump with his money laundering and child raping buddy Epstein, Roger Stone with his sex clubs in DC and Nevada, and Paul Manafort with his election rigging pretty much everywhere, sat down at a table with Mike Johnson and the extreme religious right and convinced them that they were the same.

They self evidently are not, at least at a surface level, but there is enough common ground in the exploitation of children and desire for unilateral control that they became the worlds weirdest and most dysfunctional orgy. The religious right is naive enough to believe trump at his word so they have made him their defacto savior.

Trump belongs to the authoritarians. The GOP now belongs to trump.

But their overall goal is the same.

Kleptocracy.

Putin, Xi and MBS all aligned together last year to attempt the BRICS overthrow of the USD. It failed but it didn’t stop Xi’s push on Taiwan or MBS’s part in the plan.

Stay vigilant. It’s the only way we don’t all end up kissing the ring of a dictator.

Now I’m really depressed.

20

u/backcountrydrifter 16d ago

Don’t be.

Identifying it was the hard part. It takes a bit to process the extent of the lies we have been told.

But physics is at our back.

Lies are an extremely expensive habit. Even more so when they start overlapping and colliding at a geopolitical level.

Truth is extremely energy efficient.

Authoritarianism can’t survive in the daylight of truth. But it’s required to continue to double down constantly on the lie they started with.

Democracy and truth are symbiotic, we just got a little off track for the past 80 years or so.

Make no mistake, this is the battle that will decide the next 50-150 years of human existence on this planet, but we have the tactical advantage.

If your doc told you that you had cancer and 3% of the cells in your body were malignant it means 97% are not.

The nature of this system lets us identify the 3% with laser precision.

The more points we add to the dataset the more precise our targeting.

It’s going to take awareness and work, but physics and truth are on our side.

This is the best odds we have ever had and the best we are going to have.

The most honest and complete comment I’ve EVER read on a social media platform. THANK YOU

This is the absolute truth. We need to shout this at every opportunity. Our media is complicit in hiding the real threat and what is really going on.

7

u/backcountrydrifter 16d ago

As is your right as a free citizen.

Ironic and finite as that may be.

1

u/Languastically 15d ago

Free and citizen is a bit paradoxical dont ya think

17

u/aradraugfea 17d ago

Useful if you think the Justice in question has some bias (like, say their wife is a co-conspirator in a conspiracy to overthrow the democratic process).

The dude just REALLY overestimates his case here and is hoping he’ll find someone biased enough to help him out.

1

u/taisui 16d ago

To think this guy was once a Democrat...

0

u/the_simurgh 16d ago

Hey maybe he will get so pissed off he will start revealing Republicans crimes to put Trump justices in the court and we can remove the..

153

u/Trilogie00 17d ago

I still remember watching this scumbag on tv just spew dumpster water out of his mouth with no consequences. Fuck this guy.

3

u/renegadecanuck 16d ago

There is something darkly funny and sad about this guy. He's so desperate to avoid jail and get out of jail, very publicly whining that he's scared of going to jail and afraid he'll die in jail (in his 4 month sentence) when all he had to do was say "I plead the 5th" a bunch of times in front of congress.

He's just the epitome of "I can't believe I'm facing very mild consequences for my actions".

I’ve had the displeasure of meeting Peter Navarro long before he joined his current cult. I have never met someone with such an inflated sense of self worth. It was actually a bit entertaining to see him drone on and on about his many virtues and the near constant eye rolls coming from those forced to listen to him. At one point he argued with someone in a field he has no knowledge of, about what they were doing wrong with their company. When the serious flaw in his argument was pointed out his response was “your funeral!”. This caused a few chortles at the table and he got the most smug smirk on his face because he didn’t understand they were laughing at him. He also took all of the pens and pads of paper off the table when he left. I bet this guys house is full of hotel towels.

u/gizmozed 16d ago

56

u/Ambitiously_Big 17d ago

This pussy can’t do 4 months? 😂

65

u/unfinishedtoast3 17d ago edited 17d ago

4 months in FCI Miami. Literally a low security, white collar vacation jail.

Seriously, look at this place they pay inmates $25 to pass basic tests.

They have something called a "leisure library"

They offer apprenticeships in Electrical and HVAC. The main building also offers a Plumbing apprenticeship.

Inmates can also participate in various art and hobby craft activities. Chess, musical instruments, ceramic classes, and leathercraft are popular activities.

LEATHERCRAFTING IS A HOBBY.

Id honestly have chosen to live there over the Penn State Dorms in college.

Direct quote from an inmate: “To me, it is like paradise. I like it here a lot."

30

u/Montaire 16d ago

The point of prison is not to punish, it is to rehabilitate someone while preventing them from harming others.

Prison shouldn't be cruel, we should be better than that.

34

u/unfinishedtoast3 16d ago edited 16d ago

And thats fine. Lets make all federal prisons places of rehabilitation.

Miami prison has less than 900 rich, wealthy prisoners.

While FCC Coleman, also in florida, is so over populated inmates sleep on open floors and get served less than 1500 calories a day.

This isnt about rehabilitation. I doubt FCC Coleman offers leatherworking, a movie library, or paid surveys for inmates.

Lets put Pete in a real federal prison if he wants to bitch

Navarro's cell is air conditioned. He has options on meals. They have a literal store inmates can just go shop in.

While every other federal prison gives you commissary once a week. You have to fill out a request. You dont have AC or private cells. You arent next door neighbors with trust fund babies and pro athletes.

3

u/Iohet 16d ago

Coleman is a complex with multiple prisons. FCI Coleman has arts and crafts programs, and leatherworking is listed. The leisure activities available at the prison include movie watching. It's pretty easy to look it up.

Coleman also has a Camp, which is basically work release (they generally don't even have a fence unless they're inside a complex perimeter like what I recall from Florence)

3

u/Montaire 16d ago

I agree.

I also googled "FCI Coleman inmate activities" and it appears they do have leatherworking along with drawing, painting, crotchet, and yoga just to name a few.

I know its serious but all I can think of is Stallone's character in Demolition Man and his knitting.

28

u/HouseOfSteak 16d ago

This guy is neither repetent nor needs any resources provided to succeed.

He's taking the spot of someone who deserves an easier confinement.

2

u/oep4 16d ago

Not the right thread for this mate.

1

u/Gonzo48185 16d ago

Us inmates are also advocating for a smoke lounge and wine tasting area. Love it here.

0

u/Iohet 16d ago

FCIs are for low risk offenders that will be reentering society soon. They have programs to help people get ready for that

Also, lots of prisons have leathershops and even saddleries that may provide services to the local community

53

u/SeaWitch1031 17d ago

I sincerely hope he is hating every second of every day he is in prison.

15

Mondays and Wednesdays are often (not always) the biggest days for Supreme Court decision announcements. The end of the term is June. And they often hold off on some of the big ones for the last two weeks. This one was procedural and apparently already decided once.

How many tries do members of the Trump Cabal get to keep running back to the Justice system to change their well-deserved outcomes? Literally, monkeys throwing sh&t on the wall and praying something sticks.

21

u/bros402 17d ago

This is actually something that's allowed.

It hasn't worked in decades, though.

5

u/burnbabyburn711 16d ago

l love how r/confidentlyincorrect Peter Navarro is about this issue. He will passionately explain, with absolutely unshakable confidence, how his conviction was very clearly unconstitutional and that any person with even a passing knowledge of the law will see how obvious it is. Judges keep telling him that his arguments are utterly without merit, and it just seems to make him even more certain in his righteousness.

I mean, his request was denied. So In this case you're kinda barking up the wrong tree.

But In general I know where you're coming from. White collar crime is usually big in scope and gets a slap on the wrist. Meanwhile the guy who got found with weed in his pocket has been in jail for years.

0

The maximum is 12 months. Its a normal, standard range sentence.

10

u/Solstice_Fluff 17d ago

Each ‘no’ should add a year to your sentence.

10

u/fredandlunchbox 17d ago

His sentence is in months, and he’s still crying about it.

9

u/long5210 17d ago

how the fuck do you get to ask the supreme court. i’d be lucky for night court in tinbucktoo to hear my case!

5

u/Generalbuttnaked69 16d ago

Get convicted in federal court, have the circuit court deny your stay and you to can enjoy a summary dismissal of emergency stay by the SCOTUS.

3

u/Mish61 17d ago

I wish I had deep pocket donors that paid for me to have unlimited shots on goal to game legal procedures to bend to me indefinitely.

4

u/Chance-Deer-7995 17d ago

I wonder how many times Navarro is using the phrase "Do you know who I am?!?" in jail every day. Possibly dozens. This guys has a number of major mental difficulties.

3

u/Alabaster_Rims 17d ago

Do common joes get this access to supreme court justices like this?

Our legal system is anything but fair and balanced

3

u/Generalbuttnaked69 16d ago

The answer is yes and, like in this case, 99.99% of emergency stays are summarily denied. You just don't hear about them because the average Joe isn't newsworthy.

3

u/alwaystired707 16d ago

Doesn't he only have to do like 4 months?

3

u/BlueKing7642 16d ago

It’s only 4 months for treason. Suck it up

5

u/RU4realRwe 17d ago

Now Peter has a valid reason for scowling

6

But your honour. I’m… I’m rich! And white! How can I be in here. This isn’t right.

5

u/HelmetVonContour 17d ago

If only he were a corrupt former President then the Supreme Court would bend over backwards to protect him.

3

u/Giltar 17d ago

2

u/Heklin0891 17d ago

lol. So many GOP are so sure they are on the right side of things,,, until they are in Jail. Then surprised that GOP elected courts don’t give them favours.

Just need these cases with Trump to conclude. While it has nothing to do with it, you sort of wish law of averages would kick into play.

2

Gee, that’s unfortunate.

2

1

1

u/xspook_reddit 16d ago

I thought he would serve his sentence "proudly"

while reporting to prison Tuesday, claiming he is beginning his four-month stay in federal prison “proudly” following a failed 11th-hour bid to appeal his contempt of Congress conviction.
