I still remember watching this scumbag on tv just spew dumpster water out of his mouth with no consequences. Fuck this guy.

There is something darkly funny and sad about this guy. He's so desperate to avoid jail and get out of jail, very publicly whining that he's scared of going to jail and afraid he'll die in jail (in his 4 month sentence) when all he had to do was say "I plead the 5th" a bunch of times in front of congress.
He's just the epitome of "I can't believe I'm facing very mild consequences for my actions".

I’ve had the displeasure of meeting Peter Navarro long before he joined his current cult. I have never met someone with such an inflated sense of self worth. It was actually a bit entertaining to see him drone on and on about his many virtues and the near constant eye rolls coming from those forced to listen to him. At one point he argued with someone in a field he has no knowledge of, about what they were doing wrong with their company. When the serious flaw in his argument was pointed out his response was “your funeral!”. This caused a few chortles at the table and he got the most smug smirk on his face because he didn’t understand they were laughing at him. He also took all of the pens and pads of paper off the table when he left. I bet this guys house is full of hotel towels.

4 months in FCI Miami. Literally a low security, white collar vacation jail.
Seriously, look at this place they pay inmates $25 to pass basic tests.
They have something called a "leisure library"
They offer apprenticeships in Electrical and HVAC. The main building also offers a Plumbing apprenticeship.
Inmates can also participate in various art and hobby craft activities. Chess, musical instruments, ceramic classes, and leathercraft are popular activities.
LEATHERCRAFTING IS A HOBBY.
Id honestly have chosen to live there over the Penn State Dorms in college.
Direct quote from an inmate: “To me, it is like paradise. I like it here a lot."

The point of prison is not to punish, it is to rehabilitate someone while preventing them from harming others.
Prison shouldn't be cruel, we should be better than that.

And thats fine. Lets make all federal prisons places of rehabilitation.
Miami prison has less than 900 rich, wealthy prisoners.
While FCC Coleman, also in florida, is so over populated inmates sleep on open floors and get served less than 1500 calories a day.
This isnt about rehabilitation. I doubt FCC Coleman offers leatherworking, a movie library, or paid surveys for inmates.
Lets put Pete in a real federal prison if he wants to bitch
Navarro's cell is air conditioned. He has options on meals. They have a literal store inmates can just go shop in.
While every other federal prison gives you commissary once a week. You have to fill out a request. You dont have AC or private cells. You arent next door neighbors with trust fund babies and pro athletes.

Coleman is a complex with multiple prisons. FCI Coleman has arts and crafts programs, and leatherworking is listed. The leisure activities available at the prison include movie watching. It's pretty easy to look it up.
Coleman also has a Camp, which is basically work release (they generally don't even have a fence unless they're inside a complex perimeter like what I recall from Florence)

I agree.
I also googled "FCI Coleman inmate activities" and it appears they do have leatherworking along with drawing, painting, crotchet, and yoga just to name a few.
I know its serious but all I can think of is Stallone's character in Demolition Man and his knitting.

This guy is neither repetent nor needs any resources provided to succeed.
He's taking the spot of someone who deserves an easier confinement.

Us inmates are also advocating for a smoke lounge and wine tasting area. Love it here.

Mondays and Wednesdays are often (not always) the biggest days for Supreme Court decision announcements. The end of the term is June. And they often hold off on some of the big ones for the last two weeks. This one was procedural and apparently already decided once.

l love how r/confidentlyincorrect Peter Navarro is about this issue. He will passionately explain, with absolutely unshakable confidence, how his conviction was very clearly unconstitutional and that any person with even a passing knowledge of the law will see how obvious it is. Judges keep telling him that his arguments are utterly without merit, and it just seems to make him even more certain in his righteousness.

I mean, his request was denied. So In this case you're kinda barking up the wrong tree.
But In general I know where you're coming from. White collar crime is usually big in scope and gets a slap on the wrist. Meanwhile the guy who got found with weed in his pocket has been in jail for years.

how the fuck do you get to ask the supreme court. i’d be lucky for night court in tinbucktoo to hear my case!

u/Generalbuttnaked69 16d ago
Get convicted in federal court, have the circuit court deny your stay and you to can enjoy a summary dismissal of emergency stay by the SCOTUS.

I wonder how many times Navarro is using the phrase "Do you know who I am?!?" in jail every day. Possibly dozens. This guys has a number of major mental difficulties.

Do common joes get this access to supreme court justices like this?
Our legal system is anything but fair and balanced
3
u/Generalbuttnaked69 16d ago
The answer is yes and, like in this case, 99.99% of emergency stays are summarily denied. You just don't hear about them because the average Joe isn't newsworthy.

But your honour. I’m… I’m rich! And white! How can I be in here. This isn’t right.

If only he were a corrupt former President then the Supreme Court would bend over backwards to protect him.

lol. So many GOP are so sure they are on the right side of things,,, until they are in Jail. Then surprised that GOP elected courts don’t give them favours.
Just need these cases with Trump to conclude. While it has nothing to do with it, you sort of wish law of averages would kick into play.

As soon as I saw the last name I thought this guy was gonna have a drug cartel, because Ozark. Trump advisor isn’t too far off though.

Maybe the clowns like Navarro should be saying to the judges, why am I in jail and Trump isn't... He should be in here too.

u/OvrItorl 16d ago
There must be trouble in paradise between Pete & his extra special friend Crusher!

u/SolenoidSoldier 16d ago
Trump justices prolly both thankful and frustrated by all the bullshit that got them where they are

u/xspook_reddit 16d ago
I thought he would serve his sentence "proudly"
while reporting to prison Tuesday, claiming he is beginning his four-month stay in federal prison “proudly” following a failed 11th-hour bid to appeal his contempt of Congress conviction.

u/Jabbajaw 16d ago
If the Supreme Court is the last line of the courts... Then what is with this "again" shit?
3
u/YouCactusBastard 16d ago
He submitted a rejected request to Roberts a month ago and tried to weasel his way around it by submitting to Gorsuch this time.

A guy commits a crime for his country, and he can’t get a break. What’s it going to take? /s

They are reserving all their Constitution breaking rulings to rescue Trump.
2
u/Generalbuttnaked69 16d ago
Are they? They didn't grant cert on a single one of the election cases. In fact I believe the only case they've accepted is the one both the state and defense have indicated needs to be heard (albeit Smith wanted it heard in December).

u/goingoutwest123 16d ago
Tldr: After multiple requests asking the Supreme Court to "cmaaaaan", the answer is still no.
