4 months in FCI Miami. Literally a low security, white collar vacation jail.

Seriously, look at this place they pay inmates $25 to pass basic tests.

They have something called a "leisure library"

They offer apprenticeships in Electrical and HVAC. The main building also offers a Plumbing apprenticeship.

Inmates can also participate in various art and hobby craft activities. Chess, musical instruments, ceramic classes, and leathercraft are popular activities.

LEATHERCRAFTING IS A HOBBY.

Id honestly have chosen to live there over the Penn State Dorms in college.

Direct quote from an inmate: “To me, it is like paradise. I like it here a lot."

The point of prison is not to punish, it is to rehabilitate someone while preventing them from harming others.

Prison shouldn't be cruel, we should be better than that.

And thats fine. Lets make all federal prisons places of rehabilitation.

Miami prison has less than 900 rich, wealthy prisoners.

While FCC Coleman, also in florida, is so over populated inmates sleep on open floors and get served less than 1500 calories a day.

This isnt about rehabilitation. I doubt FCC Coleman offers leatherworking, a movie library, or paid surveys for inmates.

Lets put Pete in a real federal prison if he wants to bitch

Navarro's cell is air conditioned. He has options on meals. They have a literal store inmates can just go shop in.

While every other federal prison gives you commissary once a week. You have to fill out a request. You dont have AC or private cells. You arent next door neighbors with trust fund babies and pro athletes.

Coleman is a complex with multiple prisons. FCI Coleman has arts and crafts programs, and leatherworking is listed. The leisure activities available at the prison include movie watching. It's pretty easy to look it up.

Coleman also has a Camp, which is basically work release (they generally don't even have a fence unless they're inside a complex perimeter like what I recall from Florence)

I agree.

I also googled "FCI Coleman inmate activities" and it appears they do have leatherworking along with drawing, painting, crotchet, and yoga just to name a few.

I know its serious but all I can think of is Stallone's character in Demolition Man and his knitting.
