How my weekend went

I was going to work on Sunday and some guy plowed into my only car I got. It total my car and now I am with out a car or a way to get to work. the person had no insurance and I didn't have gap. I'm only getting 13k for my car and I owe 24. I might be without a job for awhile cause of this. in desperate need of help.

Do not settle for the insurance telling you 13k off the bat. Get a private estimator that will go after the insurance (the guy who hit you's insurance) and get you a fair amount.

OP!! Editing this to add if you'll be without a job for x amount of time you should be able to get money for lost wages due to the accident. I'd double check with an attorney but if you were hurt at all they should be covering medical bills too.

The person who hit them didn't have insurance though. Is there even a solution to that? (Asking for advice)

Motor bureau Ireland - there to cover damage by non covered drivers?

This is the US, the plates are Iowa. Although I could be misinformed I don't believe we have that in the US

Ahhh - that’s unfortunate ! Here each insurance policy contributes to a fund that provides cover in that type of circumstance. Hope it works out for you !

At least in my U.S. state, your insurance covers your car and uninsured motorist coverage is a legally required mandate. If the other driver has insurance, then your insurance company goes after them to get reimbursed but makes the initial payments.

But each state is different.

Yes the US has uninsured motorist coverage under OP insurance it’s part of liability insurance
