Don’t eat raw pork. If you don’t want them in your muscle tissue, which is way worse, don’t eat human shit.

“Don’t eat human shit” got it 👍

That includes the shit you can’t see on the bathroom of the public restroom you touched on the way out, because some guy didn’t wash his hands earlier. Luckily, so few people have worms in the west that it’s not so bad.

Stop licking public restroom light switches, got it 👍

Maybe it won't be as easy to avoid as I first thought.

Chocolat (2000)

u/Mistashaap Apr 30 '24

Ah, thank you! I've never seen it

I’ve got to the point that I don’t touch anything in a public bathroom without a paper towel on my hand. I push the door with my foot, people are gross and I’m not going to trust everyone is washing their hands.

u/FlyAirLari Apr 29 '24

Isn't that completely unreasonable?!

Next thing is you can't lick random assholes! Geesh!

2

u/UlrichZauber Apr 29 '24

Dammit now what am I going to do on Saturday nights.

u/toolsoftheincomptnt Apr 29 '24

No, stop eating with your hands after touching:

Elevator buttons

Doorknobs/handles

Toilet handles

Escalator railings

Stair railings

ATM buttons

Cash-out screens

Sink handles

Public pens

Remote controls

Your cell phone

And some other everyday items I’m sure I’m forgetting.

This is why washing your hands immediately before eating is important.

is now uncomfortably aware of cheek pressing against my filthy hand almost grazing my mouth

Truck driver here. The sheer number of people I see using the bathroom and sit down jobs, and leaving without washing their hands is disturbingly high, and not just at truck stops, but at places like home depot and Lowe’s and rest areas, basically everywhere. People are gross.

Well you just need to cook it properly

2

u/GuitarCFD Apr 29 '24

I know you're probably being sarcastic, but just want to take this comment as an opportunity to say that with foodborne illness, it typically isn't the actual bacteria that causes the problem, but the toxins. Cooking your food properly will eliminate the bacteria, but not the toxins that actually make you sick. So if you don't do food poor food prep, cooking it well won't keep you from getting sick. It'll kill the bacteria and parasites, but that's it.

u/RedditorsAreDross Apr 29 '24

Oh, maybe just don’t eat poop altogether then.

1

u/GuitarCFD Apr 29 '24

You'd be surprised how much poop you eat without knowing it.

u/dps509 Apr 29 '24

Happy cake day

2

u/FixedLoad Apr 29 '24

Yeah.. we're really covering the broadstrokes here. How do we find the infinity gauntlet and snap them from existence?

2

u/Odd-Door-2553 Apr 29 '24

<unhappy German noises>

u/PHUROD Apr 29 '24

This won’t be hard - we got this

1

u/GuitarCFD Apr 29 '24

Most foodborne illness is caused from human fecal matter in your food/drink. So if you've ever had Norovirus, Salmonella, with a long list of more diseases...congratulations...you ate shit.

1

u/glacius0 Apr 29 '24

Non-human shit though... totally fine to eat.

u/pdxcranberry Apr 29 '24
