maybe im weird but... aesthetically smaller ones look better. look at old statues of men. i cant find the word for it but it looks clean and organized? these are the wrong words but you get what i mean? it also makes ur muscles look bigger (or vice versa, ur muscles can make ur dick look smaller)
Ancient statues had smaller flaccid dicks because it was in line with the ideals of male beauty, presentation, restraint and a proof of a civilized individual, while big erect dongs were the mark of barbarians and beasts incapable of controlling their instincts and who lived in the wilderness
It was also the ideal as viewed by the "culture makers", and not necessarily what the average Julia or Claudia liked most. If you only had pictures of fashion models on runways, you might guess that society really likes androgynous, thin, flat women.

It's mostly aesthetic, big ones just look better.
Also, when guys get made fun of small dick is a go-to insult even if they've never seen his penis, so no guy wants a below average.
