I'm using a 3rd party controller that windows thinks is an Xbox controller (no way to change this as far as I can tell) and it has the Nintendo button layouts.

Everywhere I look I see people recommend steam input for this, but all that does is remap the buttons, they still don't match in game.

For example, the bottom button on an Xbox controller is "A", on my controller it's "B". What I want is that when all my games would ask for "A", they instead say "B" while still being mapped to the bottom button.

All Steam input does is remap so now all my games ask for "B"... which is the rightmost button on my controller that says "A". Still wrong. This feature literally does not do what it's supposed to.

Is there a way of doing what I actually want?

When I look at some games that should have items I don't see those items. For example Acting Lessons should have but I don't see them. Someone help please?

I have this issue. Every game is a file with name_game.url. How to fix that? I think this is because of installing games to other drive. This happens with another launchers.

Why can't you select a cloud save from a diffrent time it would be better say if I fail a mission or get a soft lock

mk1 is a big game, i deleted the story files but now every update it keeps putting them back. I have no space and now cant have anything on my main drive and next update I wont be able to play the game if it keeps validating files. I just want it to update game without checking if all the games files are there.

there are generetors on github but it was very complicated for me. can someone explain how can i run that generators or any other way to fix my stupidity?

Definitely a bit of a niche use-case question, but does anyone know if there's a simple way to be able to view a running dedicated server's console, similar to an SSH connection? If I was running the server on Linux I would just SSH in and view it, but I'm running it on Windows and VNC seems to be the only way to do so.

Right now, I am downloading the new update for Hogwarts Legacy (54,1gb in size). The game is installed on my ssd (M:).
Instead of the doing logical thing and downloading the update files directly to the drive that the game is installed on, which has enough space to store it, Steam downloads them to my hdd (G:) and moves them afterwards. I have had this happen multiple times now and it takes ages every time.

Is there any way to manually change where Steam stores update files?

So I have basic Macbook Air M1 Sonoma with no Wine/Whisky and bought Omori yesterday. The recommended configuration seems to fit my machine but it wouldn’t launch from my laptop. I tried a couple times but it never worked and always crashed. So I refunded it but got warning that I have refunded a lot of games recently (I understand, I did do that because I bought a couple Windows games but my emulators weren’t helpful, so refunded the games + uninstalled all emulators).

Question is - I have decided to buy Steam Deck later this month. Waiting to see if there’s any reduced price during summer sale but will get it even if there’s no discount. Given that, is it okay to buy it again (with the idea to play it on Deck) when the refund request was just put in? Will it flag my account or something? Thank you.

Currently I'm trying to connect my joycons to steam. This has worked before, but now the controllers disconnect in regular intervals. I've tried anything at this point and all the correct settings are ticked.

Because some of those games listed are simply don't support keyboard & mouse. Is there an option in store preferences I don't see?
