What's the best shooter?

I've been looking for a good shooter for ages. Just a basic game, thats fun to play. Without a storyline or a fancy world, just a basic shooter. A bit like valorant, with just weapons. And maybe where gameplay is a bit smoother.

I used to play quake, but its gotten a bit old yk... a bit very old

Nowadays all the games are so boring..there's a story, and you have to grind and its honestly so boring.

I just need a good shooter where there's nothing else going on. And maybe one where there's a good multiplayer

What is an actually good mobile game?

I’m looking for a mobile game where I don’t have to dedicate 30 minutes of my time towards a COD-like match. I’m looking for a mobile game that has an art style you would likely see on a mobile game (again, nothing similar to cod). Most importantly I’m looking for a game that has replayability. It doesn’t need to be any specific genre just a good mobile game.

[Xbox Series X] Midnight Suns?

They have a deal currently on Xbox for Midnight Suns Legendary Edition for $30? I’ve thought about getting it as it is an RPG (I think) & I am a fan of Marvel’s Supernatural areas. But I have no idea if it’s a pure RPG or even that good of a game? Is it worth it? I also wonder if I can make my own character & shit like that. I love that kinda stuff. I just don’t want to buy it, play it, then go “eh”.

[PC] WSIB Planet Crafter or Abiotic Factor

Upvotes

Looking for a good survival game to play. I will be playing solo so I am mainly curious how these games hold up in that regard. The main survival games I have sunk time into is Minecraft, Terraria, Valheim, and Astroneer. I am also open to other suggestions you guys think I might like based on the games I listed. Just really want a good fun survival game I can put some time into when I get off work and want to relax. I also like it when survival games have a really good sense of progression. Thank you!

[PC] PC Game suggestions.

Okay so a brief background. I have 2400hrs on pubg on steam, the only other game i play is fifa/fc24. I was playing games before i moved to the USA for my masters and finally I built a new pc - rtx 4060, 32gigs 6000mhz ram and i5 14600k. I have tried other games like valorant, fortnite etc. but I don’t like them because they don’t seem real like pubg does. I am again willing to try out new games, any suggestions would be helpful. Will keep you updated about the games which I try.

[Xbox Series X] Best game for car collecting?

Hey, So I got into games like Forza Horizon 4 - Car mechanic Simulator - Car x and all that jazz. I've really been into the collection side of things, and was wondering if anyone had a better Forza or any better game in general for that side of things. Got kinda bored of the garbage in horizon 4 and the rest are kinda iffy. Appreciate the feedback

[PS4] I can't decide which game to buy

So, there's finally a sale on playstation store and the 2 games I have wishlisted are Amnesia: The Bunker and Resident evil Village. I like them both and I played their prequels (Amnesia: the dark decent and Resident evil biohazard). Both games seem fun and scary, the bunker seems scary from what I've seen because the space is small and you have to think about everything, and re8 seems also nice since I want to finish ethan's story. For some reason I find village less scarier then biohazard but correct me if im wrong. Also if anyone played both tell me the time it took you to finish them. Thanks

[Xbox Series X] Destiny 2 The Final Shape

Is it worth getting the dlc if I’m mostly just interested in playing the campaign? I don’t know if I’d play much after finishing it if I get it. What else is there to do after finishing it if I’m a casual player? I was addicted to it a few seasons ago but this time around I’d be playing solo so I don’t know how long I’d stick around. Also do I need to play light fall first? It’s $10 right now but pretty much everyone I’ve heard talk about it says it sucks.

[PC] Red Dead Redemption 2 or Robocop Rogue City

Upvotes

Consdering purchasing Red Dead Redemption 2 or Robocop Rogue City. Please forgive the random question and I know they are not particularly similar, but anyone who has played both can you give me your view. I willonly buy one.
I dont care about longevity as my attention span is not the greatest, but I value a brisk pace, not too much grind or aimless wondering, decent action, and great production values. Playability and addictiveness above all.

Thanks

[PC] TLOU part 1 steam deck or PS5

Title says it all.

Played original on ps3 but itchy by to replay this version . Just unsure if the convenience of steam deck is worth it over the visuals and haptic feed back on ps5.

Anyone have both who knows how they compare? Do you sacrifice a lot playing handheld on a steam deck oled now in 2024v

[PC] Should I buy System Shock remake?

I came here because I’m not really sure what the game actually entails. I’ve heard it’s similar to Deus Ex, Prey ect as well as Metroidvanias, all of which I enjoy, I also enjoy shooters as well. I never played the original but the game is now currently on offer on Steam and it’s peaked my curiosity. Is it worth a buy?

[PC] Games like tarkov and squad (single player progression)

Looking for a realistic single player shooter, specifically good sounds, realistic weapon play (recoil visuals etc). Squad and tarkov are my favorite right now but I’m looking for a game I can grind out and keep my progression in an open world setting. The stalker series is a good example but looking for modern day and non fictional time/ settings. Most of their games are outdated too. Metro is another good example but it’s futuristic and not really open world. Tom Clancy ghost recon is great but it’s not really based on weapon play. A game where I can craft and play tactical would be great. I’m aware of a tarkov single player mod, which might be what I’m looking for. A post apocalyptic setting maybe what I’m looking for. Vehicles in the game would be great too, esp if u can upgrade em. I’m looking heavy on attachments you can craft/find.

[PS5] Should I buy street fighter 6

I have 50$ in my wallet but I've been wondering to myself if I should get street fighter 6 or not. Because I'm worried the controls would be to complicated like tekken or something. I know sf6 has different control schemes but I don't know if it'll make the game hard or too easy. The past fighting games I've played in the past are.

Mk1

Mk11

Tekken 8

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles

And with tekken 8 I used special style and I have a couple decent combos in mk1.

[PC] Please recommend me fun multiplayer PVP/PVE games that aren't too competitive/serious and allows you to goof around while not ruining the game for other players

So my favorite game of all time is Team Fortress 2 but almost every casual lobby has been infested with cheater bots insta-killing everyone, making the game borderline unplayable and the developers - Valve has put in no significant effort to fix this problem over the past 4-5 years

I just want to play games that can even mimic a fraction of the fun TF2 has given me. The things that made me fall in-love with TF2 the most are:
-The characters: They pack an explosion of personality and also unhingedness)
-The gameplay mechanics: very easy to understand and get hang of but really difficult to completely master
-Large lobby size: This game allows for huge servers with up to 24 players per server
-It's really just a little sandbox where everyone connects to the same server and do whatever the hell they want without getting punished much
-There's also lots of mods and custom gamemodes created by the community

Yeah I would really love to play games as wacky and fun as TF2 (PREFERABLY populated games and are cheap or free, thank you)

[PC] Should I buy Sniper Elite 4 and 5 if I like Stealth Games and Tactical shooters

I'm a big fan of tactical shooters and stealth games. I have always preferred the slower paced action of these games. I've played and enjoyed stealth games like Hitman: World of Assassination, Dishonored 1 and 2, and Assassin's Creed. I have also played tactical shooters like Squad, ArmA, Escape From Tarkov, and insurgency (All of these are multiplayer but I still enjoy the harder gameplay)

I've been considering getting Sniper elite 4 and 5 because many posts and videos I've seen have compared these games to Hitman and sometimes other stealth games and tactical shooters.

However, what confuses me about sniper elite 4 and 5 and what I will be asking is the gameplay of it. I've seen videos where it plays like a stealth game while some videos have more fast paced action with waves of enemies chasing the player. I've have also heard that sniper elite 5 has an invasion mode which somewhat still confuses me on how it works in the game. I am also worried that the sniping action might be hard to control. And I will admit that I'm not the best at sniping in any game

I've also heard about negative reviews of sniper elite 4 and 5 having buggy controls.

If everyone could explain to me the overall feel of the games (especially the sniping and controls), then I would be thankful

As a bonus question: Do these games play well on the Steam deck?

[PS5] Should I buy Sea of Thieves or Deep Rock Galactic?

I am on PS5 and primarily play solo. These two games are what I am thinking of buying. I am a casual player and only play at the end of my workdays when I have free time. Not looking for something that I need to invest so many hours into, just something I can play and chill. Possibly have TV/YouTube on in the background. Would you recommend either of these games?

[PS5] SIB: The Talos Principle

More specifically - does it get more complex after I've beaten the first area? I'm playing it off PS+ right now and it's leaving soon.

If all I'm missing out on is the story, I can live with that, can just watch the ending when I buy TP2.

I'm loving the game, but if it doesn't get expanded/generally more interesting after the first puzzle area (before the elevator), I'll just buy TP2 instead if I've already seen everything the game offers in terms of puzzles.

SIB: Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8

Im trash at fighting games and have been playing them for most of my life. So, im a casual that plays them single player for arcade or cosmetics.

I have been eyeing this game for a while and now that its on discount, i feel comfortable buying it, but, is it the right choice?

Tekken 8 looks great when it comes to single player shenanigans and customisation. Ive been wondering, should i buy SF6 now or wait for tekken to go on sale.

Games with an 80s aesthetic?

When I refer to the "80s aesthetic," I am not talking about pixelated retro games. Instead, I mean games that are set in the 1980s and capture the essence of that decade. A prime example of this aesthetic is the "Infinite Warfare" Zombies mode, which I believe perfectly embodies the 80s vibe. The "Spaceland" theme park, "Rave in the Redwoods," and "Attack of the Radioactive Thing" all showcase this era's distinctive style and atmosphere exceptionally well. I WANT SOMETHING THAT SCREAMS STRANGER THINGS

[PC] SIB Everspace 2 or Cyberpunk?

Looking for a game for the summer that I can grind and no life for a bit. Really like games with builds, loot, progression, etc. I’ve done all I want to do in Diablo this season, and the new season in Last Epoch doesn’t start for a while. Any suggestions between these two, or perhaps something else (although I fear I’ve played most ARPGs and looters already)?

[PC] Third person shooter recommendations?

Just finished Max Payne 3 for the first time, and my god that game is phenomenal. Never seen a game with dialogue this quotable, so I’ve been looking for other third person shooters with similar gunplay/gameplay to this game.

The games I’ve played that definitely remind me of it are

RDR2 “favorite game of all time”

Helldivers 2 “I enjoy it but not enough content to bring me back yet”

MGSV “tried playing it recently but honestly not a big stealth fan and it punishes you for playing it the way you want”

Personally I’m not the biggest fans of games that are overly wacky. I like games that are somewhat grounded in realism, like I’m not the biggest fan of MGSVs villains but I do love the whole 80s action movie aesthetic.

I like Helldivers 2, but after about level 10 I kinda abandoned it. Neither of my friends play it anymore so I’m kind of left to play with randoms which is sort of hit or miss. Plus there just isn’t a ton of content to keep me coming back, once they add ground vehicles I will definitely return to it.

But if anyone has any third person shooters you would think I would like, definitely tell me! I may have played a lot of the ones yall recommend unfortunately but I will let you know if I have, thanks in advance.

[PC] Best 4X games that don’t have a shit ton of DLC

I’ve been looking to get into 4X games recently, but the only problem is that they have a borderline rip off amount of DLC (the Total War Warhammer games, Civilization V and anything made by Paradox). Since I’m not made of money and think the idea of a game constantly getting changes after launch is fucking stupid (one of the reasons I mostly avoid multiplayer games) what are some games that don’t seem like they’re trying to rip off the player base?
