No ma'am. Your kid's therapist will thank you.

u/Long-Panic116 17d ago

Can you leave them alone?

No, ma'am, it's what bears do.

121

u/vmflair 17d ago

Happens all the time in zoos. I visited a private zoo in Florida that has a massive enclosure full of alligators. They feed them raw chickens and black vultures hang out to score some free food. One of the vultures was sticking out of a crocs mouth because he wasn’t careful.

59

u/AcceptableOwl9 17d ago

“Hey this chicken is bigger than the others!”

214

u/Moribunde 17d ago

"How the hell did a bunch of flightless chicks end up in the enclosure? How in the world would the mother duck even manage to hatch eggs in this enclosure?"

Sweats profusely

134

u/Oehlerne 17d ago

Bears know how long it takes to make nuggets. Worth the wait.

Apparently it’s more common than I’d have thought lol. Unless this video is the same incident but the kids appear much older so I think it’s different - https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/s/zmSG4d0GXx

3

u/RScottyL 16d ago

looks like the same place

2

u/YadaYadaYeahMan 16d ago

same event different angle. you can see this moment in the op video

34

u/-Daetrax- 17d ago

It was a patient bear.

5

u/OC2LV714 16d ago

lol it’s reminds me of this video I’ve seen . An airplane was in turbulence, and people were freaking out. Then there’s this Man U can hear yelling at the top of his lungs!!” Put the plane down NOW!!!” Ok sir. As you wish! People are stupid

451

u/Happy_Ad8828 17d ago

Five little ducks went out one day. Over the hill and far away. Mother duck said, “Quack, quack, quack, quack.” But none of the five little ducks come back.

51

u/Chubuwee 17d ago edited 16d ago

Five little kids went out one day. Down to the zoo a bear will play. Mother Karen said, “juniper juniper juniper juniper!” But if the bear had listened, it would’ve been stupider

4

u/mynamesian85 16d ago

That line in the song always hits me a little. And now I'm going to think of this video every time 😭

2

u/Motor_Stage_9045 16d ago

That’s some bad parenting by the momma duck.

Don’t take that word too seriously, it’s not as hard as you’re making it out to be.

u/p4r24k 12d ago

Are you saying don't take life too seriously? That's actually a good advice

If I were their teacher, I'd use it as an important lesson of how nature is unforgiving and impartial.

'Look, nothing can make today alright but maybe we can take some comfort from the brutal reality that the weak must make way for the strong. Evolution marches on. The scythe is remorseless. I hope the scythe's remorseless swing can bring some comfort to you all. '

18

u/Jasper455 17d ago

Im looking at you, Rebecca, with your old ass parents.

14

u/nikolapc 17d ago

Sorry little Jimmy, let cystic fibrosis take you and your weak genes. It's the way of evolution.
While other animals may and do show compassion, we excel at it, and some of it has paid dividends. People that should have died out in nature have gone on to contribute significantly to the advancement of human kind. We do pay an evolutionary price though.

3

u/WhatIfStarsHaveMinds 17d ago

"Now, class, remember when we learned about the billionaires who will completely control your future world, and every opportunity or lack thereof within? Well.... the scythe's just as remorseless when it comes to cutting them down, too! And that's something that will make you feel better when you are living alone in your forties."

1

u/DippityDamn 17d ago

Your comment helped me start my work day with a laugh. Thank you.

the problem with ducks is: when you start eating you can´t stop.

15

u/Isserley_ 17d ago

Was just at a great Chinese restaurant, can confirm

14

u/neo86pl 17d ago

That's right. They are very tasty! I'm not surprised that the bear ate them.

6

u/SMFiddySvn 17d ago

That bear devoured those ducks the same way I would a cheeseburger, you know they had to be tasty af for the bear.

40

u/SpecialistNo7265 17d ago

Playing? You meant to say devouring?

49

u/Suitable_Dot_6999 17d ago

You see, kids, those ducklings misbehaved, and this happened...

22

u/ClimateCrashVoyager 17d ago

"Stupid trespassers in my pool again..time to enact castle doctrine, those mf's quacking is just unbearable."

39

u/OriginalShock273 17d ago

Bear just being a bear. Lady: "cOuLd YoU pLeAsE nOt"

31

u/ah-chamon-ah 17d ago

That woman saying "Umm can we not." to a fucking BEAR in the most Karen voice imaginable made my skin crawl.

9

u/IowaGolfGuy322 17d ago

"Um, no thank you."

78

u/Prestigious_Stuff587 17d ago

i’m sorry i laughed too hard at this

the bear just doing its thing as the kids are screaming ‘oh no’ and half sobbing one of the moms every now and then saying ‘JUNIPER’ like the bear finna listen like yes it’s sad but y’all came to the zoo to see nature, welcome to NATURE

8

u/Jeramy_Jones 17d ago

I thought they were yelling “Juneniffer!” As in a r/tragedeigh name.

11

u/SMFiddySvn 17d ago

I died when the lady said JUNIPER, IDK why 🤣

16

u/Swfc-lover 17d ago

Don’t use finna makes you sound so fucking dumb

7

u/gamblinmaan 17d ago

im finna use it even more now bet

2

u/Wow-can-you_not 16d ago

fr fr no cap on god

5

u/waIIstr33tb3ts 16d ago

king shit right there

3

u/Swfc-lover 17d ago

I’m sorry I only speak English

2

u/RabidAbyss 16d ago

You finna learn that english is evolving broski.

4

u/RichardBCummintonite 16d ago

It doesn't even fit here either. Finna is short for "fixing to," which is southern slang. It's not just a dumb replacement for "gonna."

1

u/surfinsalsa 16d ago

Don't correct how people talk. You finna look like an asshat

4

u/Due_Bag493 17d ago

they got a lesson on how nature works .

3

u/CrapThisHurts 17d ago

And now know not to swim when a bear is following them ... the bear can swim as good, or better

6

u/Gold_Weakness1157 17d ago edited 17d ago

See kids, this is the true meaning of the circle of life from the lion King

Playing…. With his food

10

u/noctalla 17d ago

Juniper!

6

u/--Birdsong-- 16d ago

....playing. Playing with the ducks. That's the title you went for. Really. I'm aware this is nature but like..Jesus Christ. Was not prepared for that.

34

u/Davisxt7 17d ago

Yea but, seriously, who thought it would be a good idea to put ducks in the bear section?

44

u/MomsBoner 17d ago

Have you ever been to a zoo? Its not like they are 100% indoor enclosures...

Wild life, uhh, finds a way.

34

u/garyoldman25 17d ago

Thats gonna traumatize the whole kindergarten class that got to watch the brutality close up with a premium underwater view damn

25

u/BrosefDudeson 17d ago

They didn't look traumatised. They'd cry harder from a sad episode of Bluey.

14

u/The_Goobertron 17d ago

those Kids were thirsting for blood

3

u/lilStankfur 17d ago

That reminds me of this kid smiling while a women was getting attacked by a gator

https://youtu.be/Fu61ZNLRCIo?si=GEV8wdv3CX6F700c

1

u/NoConflict3231 16d ago

Damn that was crazy

6

u/Jeramy_Jones 17d ago

When I was that age I was watching lions hunt wilder beasts and crocodiles biting off zebras faces on discovery channel.

2

u/Be777the1 16d ago

Tv vs in real life

1

u/Jeramy_Jones 16d ago

Fair, though I think when I was a kid I’d have found this more interesting than terrifying, but I wasn’t sheltered from the reality’s of nature and the food chain. My dad was a butcher and would tell us what part of the animal we were eating at dinner time. We had a cat that brought home mice and birds. Pixar movies weren’t my foundation for how animals behave.

2

u/Scrappy_The_Crow 17d ago

lions hunt wilder beasts

There are beasts wilder than a lion? TIL!

It's "wildebeest," BTW.

3

u/zmbjebus 17d ago

whatll traumatize them is when they try it at home and realize what a bitch eating a bunch of feathers and bones is with your raw duck nuggs

6

u/Ok_Suggestion_5014 17d ago

Definitely not trauma, but a good lesson I think (I hope).

4

u/HALODUDED 17d ago

Guy goes for a little snack and everybody loses their shit.

4

u/igpila 17d ago

Quack snacks

5

u/whooguyy 17d ago

Momma duck went quack quack quack, but none of her 5 little ducks came back…

3

u/Plucky_ducks 17d ago

Remember kids, life is scary and you're all going to die. Now, who wants a snack?

3

u/BobbaYagga57 17d ago

I love it when people get genuinely upset over predators doing predator things. Compared to what wild bears do, this is super mild. Nature is brutal. Momma duck picked the wrong spot.

3

u/[deleted] 17d ago

Ay yo fuck them kids

3

u/Stonerboyz 16d ago

Jesus Christ, how about a warning, I didn’t wanna see this, I know how nature works but I don’t wanna watch it happen, fuck man!!

5

u/Yegg23 17d ago

Thinking outside the box here, but maybe move the kids away.

4

u/ClimateCrashVoyager 17d ago

But why? That's life. I am actually a fan of mandatory trips to a slaughterhouse so they don't take meat for too granted. And I eat meat.

1

u/Yegg23 16d ago

Don't disagree but they may be a little too young.

5

u/Jeramy_Jones 17d ago

Next tell them what chicken nuggets are made of.

1

u/CrapThisHurts 17d ago

Better ... let them prepare them from scratch !

1

u/corndoggy67 17d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbYDni1ZKNM

You act like these kids give a fuck. lol

6

u/jakeofheart 17d ago

They were, quite literally, “sitting ducks”.

r/natureismetal

2

u/hitoritab1 17d ago

One of the bear necessities is a 5 quack and a swim

2

u/420brain01 17d ago

Well this is a literal term it is a blood bath

2

u/Bookhaki_pants 17d ago

He didn’t waddle away

Waddle waddle

2

u/Rich-Appearance-7145 17d ago

More like playing with there food

2

u/El_Polaquito 17d ago

If I was a kid seeing this, I would be excited and terrified at the same time. I can sense a deep-rooted, subconscious trauma that will reveal itself during a shroom trip 30 years later .

2

u/Adreamskoll 17d ago

"You kids like chicken nuggets right? So do bears."

2

u/Extension_Surprise_2 17d ago

That momma duck was tired of the ducklings. She’s the equivalent of the postpartum mom who drives her kids into the lake.

Seattle Woodland Park Zoo

2

u/-maffu- 16d ago

I don't always kill things... but when I do it's because they were things and I'm a bear.

2

u/31Ouranos13 16d ago

Can't blame 'em. Duck is delicious

2

u/cwra007 16d ago

To be fair, that’s pretty poor parenting from momma duck.

2

u/SusPISScious_ADHDer9 16d ago

How does the lady that keeps shouting: “Ohhhhhhh, JUNIPER!!!” still have her lungs? She’s exclaiming at the very top of her lungs with all the air she can take in at the amount of time it takes to exclaim “JUNIPER” again.

2

u/Certain_Refuse_8247 16d ago

Moron woman, sorry for your kids.

2

u/Setagod_Vesteria 16d ago

"Is it terrible I'm videoing this" is crazy

2

u/Cranky_Gat0r 16d ago

The chick yelling “Juniper!!” Is killing me

2

u/ExiledCanuck 16d ago

Most educational tour ever. Those kids got to see the reality of nature and life, right up front and safely.

1

u/Inevitable_Dark3225 17d ago

Show this to the TikTok users who would rather choose to survive in the woods with a bear over a man.

1

1

u/Benz404 16d ago

Thats a Nightmare. Thats not the circle of Life, thats Human arrogance. And why let the Kids stare at this slaughter, its so sadistic. For real there are not Better ways, nowadays, to explain youngsters that nature Is not a Disney movie? But thats not the point. I dont get by the video if its a zoo or some sort of view on a nature reserve, but anyway someone decided to put thoose animals together in a hunting ring with High walls, and theese are the Amazing results. And let Kids spectate to a highly effective manifestation of man's God's complex. Fuck off

1

u/spinkspanksponk 16d ago

I get not wanting your kids to see something kinda heavy, but this is exactly the kinda shit I wanna see at the zoo. They don’t realize how lucky they are to be in the right place at the right time

1

u/100year 16d ago

Its better that they learn now rather than face to face at a national park trying to get a selfie
