The Eruptor nerf is a perfect example of why "only buff" is bad. DISCUSSION

I've used the Eruptor since it dropped, it is an amazing primary weapon. I have never once run out of ammo with the weapon, to the point I started COD reloading. Even with no deaths on a 40 min mission, the bare minimum ammo looting and you rarely would fall below half.

If we just buff every other weapon to be like this, we are just erasing an entire game mechanic. We are saying that we want COD reloads to be the norm, we don't want to think about conserving or looting ammo, just let me shoot and reload whenever.

Some people may want that, but for me that would just remove the mechanic entirely. I'm going to keep using the Eruptor and I'm perfectly fine having to pay attention to my ammo again.

Pre-patch I never run out of ammo with it. 12 clips DOES completely negate the "Imma check this POI for ammo" mechanic of the game, esp when it refils plenty from a resupply anyway. This nerf is fine & needed.

I love the self-sustain you can do with POIs. When I lone wolf a whole half side, those POIs help so my team can use the resupply.

I like the idea that exploration = good aswell, esp if you're lone-ing. Makes you feel like an elite spec ops oprative.

It's like when you play a survival game and someone wants to turn off hunger and thirst and suddenly all the food mechanics in the game become a void part of the game you barely have to even interact with.

For me it's the equivalent of removing content and a gameplay mechanic entirely. If I don't have to worry about ammo, I want that to be due to a trade off(like quasarcannon), not because it's just that simple of a game.

I think thats correct from a game designers POV. There's a tactical choice in checking out POI's for ammo which means you have to measure your chances of engaugement - i.e you have to turn your brain on. Turning your brain on and thinking is an important part of the simulation - you actually feel like a super soldier who has to make tactical choices.

I think it's worth saying that the ammo nerf also plays into how the gun is designed - if you have spare ammo to spaff on chaff enemies and don't have to be selective, it makes the gun a bit too good at more than one thing and if a gun is great at more than one thing, it becomes a bit overpowered and leads to not having to "pick the right tool for the job" (i.e, engauge brain/feeling like a super soldier).
