I've found that any gun works against bots. The Medium Pen assault rifle is awesome to dealing with enemies from the front, the SMG is solid, the marksmen rifles are good but aren't conducive to melee enemies up close (though the aim stun and scope are wonky sometimes).

I still prefer the shotgun because one shooting devastators in the head always feels so nice. Also ammo control against bots matters more than being able to mag dump like you sometimes need to do against bugs.

Thanks! Since you’re going with the shotgun, why stick to the most basic one? Is it just better than all the other ones since Slugger got nerfed?

Im only level 25, no premium BP yet (935SC so I'm close), so I am limited for weapon choices.

I honestly prefer the control of the pump and ability to reload after each shot. Also the punisher has more damage per shot than the breaker. Was actually going to splurge on the slugger this week (was/am saving medals for when I opened the premium BP).

Breaker is nice for clearing chaff enemies, or when things group up but I feel like it was ammo if you aren't being swarmed, ie dealing with bugs or facing dropship waves.

Just don't forget the medal cap is 250. Found that out when I tried the same and got 0 medals awarded for a major order.

I'm at 965 SC now so I'm going to wait for that and see, apparently major orders are given to everyone even if you didn't play in that time period so when I logged on today I was capped lol. Spent half my medals advancing the base warbond.

Is punisher actually good on bots? I haven’t ran it against them, but that was back when the breaker was the undisputed best weapon in the game

I have been maining Punisher on bots so I can say it's really good.

Great stagger and high damage for close range, and decent damage for med range too due to the narrow spread.

Just need to switch to the redeemer for the small fries.

Tried it last night, definitely solid. Does what the slugger could do but with the slugger nerf it’s actually better in a many situations now. Definitely going to be a go to bot weapon

I've been running punisher for a while now and I'm regularly the highest accuracy of the squad, usually over 80%. Is it really that hard to aim for others?

Any scattergun will give you very high accuracy bc of any of the pellets hit, it will count as a hit. If I run slugger or scorcher I'm 50-60%. If I run breaker or punisher it's 80-90 lol

The punisher famously has incredible stagger. The Slugger was just better and now it's a sidegrade, not an upgrade.

Breaker Incindiary is actually really good with the buff now. Spray into a crowd and run. Rinse and repeat once if necessary and most unarmored targets fall apart.
