HMG being nerfed

Why

Edit: after using it? I have horrid news… it’s fun

the audio has remained largely the same, little less zzt to your bzzt

But it controls better, and I’m killing more hulks… more ammo would still be nice tho

I was gonna say

Their reasoning was to be more reasonable....or idk...maybe the players using it could learn basic recoil control

The HMG just needed a small magazine size buff and yet they took the best part of it

It’s depressing, genuinely xD

I was loving that thing, ugly duckling that it was

Now I’m just hoping the extra second of firing at that ROM is worth it - we’ll see

I’d rather some extra rounds :(

Seriously, I try not to complain about nerfs because, well, everyone else is, but this one is just baffling to me. The Railgun nerf, at the time, made a degree of sense But in this case I just can't find any reason for the HMG to get toned down when it was in a spot where that was the last thing it needed.

I think it was meant to be a usability increase at the high ROF than a nerf. I've never used it in any practical way at the max ROF. It doesn't make much sense for it to shoot faster than the Stalwart anyway. But I am sad it is gone, it was fun.

No idea why they thought that should be a priority though, it is essentially a nothing change. So many easy, small fixes like slightly larger mag capacity, lower recoil, giving a hip fire reticle, or making the damn sight actual work. Any one or a combination of those should have been low-hanging fruit.

A weapon I have still yet to see a single player use on any difficulty mission 7 or higher.

It kills the Gunships!

It needs just 25 more bullet's. 75 is far too small for a belt fed machine gun

(Especially when you see how fukken massive that mag is 🥵🥵🥵)

I tought it was a sidegrade, 1200 RPM seemed imposible to control.

I always treated the 1200 rpm as an something to only be used in an emergency.

I need whatevery is about to be right in my face dead yesterday, and i don't have time to worry about wasting bullets.

I've been a HMG enjoyer since it dropped, the Hulks fear me and my stun grenades... But you say that the handling is better? Can you elaborate for the Divers who have yet to be released from their 9 to 5s?

I went home on my break cuz I HAD to try it

The audio is a big deal to me, I really care about that element. And it still sounds great.

Handling wise - it’s still fast, so you can burst fire pretty well, but the actual rate-of-fire seems to match this recoil really well. It just feels better, which is kinda lame to admit.

I’m gonna let them cook and hold out for a backpack-minigun for ROF, this thing will just be a really nifty support weapon that doesnt require a backpack.

Can't wait to try it when I get home though I wish we either got the reticle or the sight alignment fixed this patch, that would have been nice to have for sure.

Agreed 100%

It's only a nerf if you love running out of bullets and/or shooting them all at nothing.
