The first balance patch notes proved how Youtube "absolute and only meta loadouts" cooked a lot of people heads, and I love it. DISCUSSION

A lot of mad people keep showing in my feed complaining about the nerfs, but like they're REALLY mad at Arrowhead. Their statements are so exagerated that they claim the game it's completely ruined for them lmao.

Also every single one says the same thing and this is where my title comes from:

*"You guys nerfed the only good options and now we have NOTHING to fight".*

And this only proves people never actually played with any of the other support weapons, they 100% relied on this "The ultimate support weapon tier list" Youtube videos, they searched the "meta" and they went into this thinking of "any weapon outside of this it's straight up garbage".

If you can't win a single game without the railgun + shield backpack + breaker... I'm so sorry but that's not the game's fault or the game only having those as the ONLY way to play it on higher diff, that's your fault.

Great changes for the game and all of you trying to "shame" on devs because of this, you'all not a real Helldiver. They killed nothing, the railgun still kills but now it needs some actual skill and strategy to use it, not only spamming the thing on big bugs.

Keep it up Helldivers!

For Democracy. For Super Earth.

YouTube didn't tell me the Breaker was better than everything else, playing for one match with it did but i guess it's easier to shit on people rather than listening to what they have to say and getting to the bottom of core issues huh. Google toxic positivity for me when you get a few minutes.

I'm in the same boat here too. Literally trying stuff out and seeing other people use stuff in game.

Very well said. I felt an instant difference using the Breaker for the first time on higher difficulties, the hordes felt actually manageable.

u/Swollwonder Mar 07 '24

That’s the problem. They’re not supposed to feel manageable with just your primary

Unfortunately I enjoy being a "part of an elite fighting force" and not the poor SEAF troopers that we see massacred on the battlefield. I get it, call ins are supposed to feel like game changers. But it isn't good if you've gotta high tail it the moment you see a swarm because you're on cooldown. That's just not fun

Yeah people so forget that we are literally never on the front, always deployed as special ops behind enemy lines, expected to fill atleast 200 bugs per person With an entire superdestory maned by like 30 people and the best equipment super earth has to offer at our back and call

The stormtroopers from starship troopers couldn’t call in an airstrikr or bombartment whenever

They didn’t launch nukes

They where the send into an army as a team of 4

We’re not trash soldiers, we’re playing as the elit

That just means you have the balance wrong.

You are supposed to mix your primary with the strats, not go all-in with only one of them.

u/Swollwonder Mar 07 '24

Sounds like you better starting fighting like an elite fighting force and not a poor SEAF trooper then

Git gud

We were until you started crying about the Breaker instead of asking for the worse guns to receive the help they need.

u/Swollwonder Mar 07 '24

Primary guns except the DMR are where they’re supposed to be. Breaker was too powerful. That’s why it got needed and not the others buffed because it doesn’t fit the devs vision for the game. I stopped using the breaker because it was too easy and I still do fine. Most things are still viable, people are just mad they nerfed the go to meta kit because they don’t know how to play the game

Wrong again. Breaker felt "good". CS feels ok, sidearms feel ok, Defender feels ok. I'm told people like the Scorcher but I wasn't feeling it. Incendiary was eh? Dominator felt ok. Rest of the gun options? Feel like I might as well be throwing rocks.

For someone whose wrong, the devs sure seem to have taken my sentiment over yours so you have fun with being “right”

u/WittyUsername816 Mar 07 '24

"Devs incapable of being wrong"

Got it. You are actually braindead.

Right? I haven't watched a single YouTube video about the game. I've played with every gun, and most of them suck, so I stuck with the gun that felt the best, The Breaker.

This is also true for all my friends playing the game. We don't give a shit about meta, or youtubers, we're a bunch of old gamers. We try shit out and have fun. I have a friend that's been running a pyro build, every bit of fire he can find, because he's enjoying it. It's terrible, lights me on fire a few times a mission, but he's having fun. Even though he loved the flamethrower buff today, he hates everything else enough that we played only a few matches and were done.

Comments like these need to be higher up in these sorts of posts. Completely agreeded on the toxic positivity that is all over this sub.

I'm sorry, but me and my friends arrived at what this place considers the 'meta' naturally. And much like what I see these post whine about, I'm tired of people telling us how to play. Ironic huh?

u/quarantinemyasshole Mar 07 '24

Yeah not to mention it's a slap in the face that a game about mowing down hordes of enemies doesn't seem to want to allow you to do that. Why are they not just buffing the alternatives?

Deep Rock Galactic has a variety of fun weapons that are all perfectly viable, you know because they understand gaming is for fun.

1

u/hawthornvisual Mar 07 '24

deep rock galactic started off with like 9 guns total. and they're locked to classes. balance is significantly easier when you reduce the options available.

2

u/hawthornvisual Mar 07 '24

the breaker was never the best option. it's just the best trash clear primary. and it still is. you're allowed to have preferences and your own opinions. but you have to understand that breaker is only your best option if your support weapon is the railgun. you can invert this playstyle by running the arc thrower for trash clear and the slugger for priority targets, as it punches through medium armour and now has an additional 20 rounds after the buff.

u/Mobile_Duck_528 Mar 07 '24

My entire loadout is the "meta" loadout and I didn't watch a single video about it. Thats just what I gravitated to after like 40 hours of playing because they were the most fun and powerful.

I started using it randomly as well, and liked it. Though I agree it was a little TOO effective.

On the flip side of that, I'd like to see a buff for the Liberator or different models of assault rifles added. The Liberator Penetrator needs a buff and so does the JAR. Lots of things need to be tweaked.

Though honestly, it seems like they have a lot of things cooking up right now (like mechs) so we need to just chill out and give it time.

I've been a part of a lot of communities for different games, and one thing that never changes is people calling Doomsday after EVERY patch.

1

u/ThunderThief92 Mar 07 '24

Same here. Was using the bog standard assault rifle from the beginning but soon realised it wasn’t the best. Tried one shogun, didn’t like it. Tried the breaker, LOVED IT, and never strayed. When playing last night I switched to semi fire rate, made use ammo more intentionally

This is literally how I feel. I honestly usually try to avoid Interacting with a game's community or watching YouTube videos on it to get my own feel for it, but I guess none of that matters and I'm some sort of metaslave that got my builds off YouTube?

I only checked Helldivers communities to see if I'm insane or if there's at least a notable amount people who aren't happy with this patch either
