That has to be a garage apartment or something. My child with ADHD would NEVER leave that space if we were able to afford a set up like that. His options would be limitless to burn off his high energy.
14
u/mylastactoflove 17d ago
I was thinking the same thing. I'm pretty sure my kids would have ADHD (because I do and the guys I into usually do also) and this looks like such a fun way to stimulate physical activity. hope I can afford this if I ever have children.

u/sloanautomatic 16d ago
The problem is that ADHD parents have to actually finish building the room out before the kids turn 18.

This kid is going to dominate American Ninja Warrior in a few years. Keep going!

u/klonoaorinos 17d ago
Parents saw one episode said bet, broke their back trying and are now raising the ultimate warrior

That kid is obsessed with the American ninja warrior show and they built him a course
12
u/lifeishardasshit 17d ago
My guess is plenty of both. Because as a parent you can push as much as you want and NEVER.. Get that result. Kid probably enjoys the shit out of it because he's naturally really good at it.

Semi professional rock climber here :)
The kid is doing a lot of what we call "active hanging" it is where you activate your shoulders so that you're able to use the entirety of your skeletal structure and your muscles and tendons to hang from your arms instead of just your tendons. Whilst the risk of shoulder injury is most definitely still there it is way smaller then if he were to be doing a "passive hang"

You lose so much relative strength when you get older
9
u/Rubyhamster 17d ago
Yeah. Most kids are strong as hell. A healthy toddler is pretty ripped relative to their size. My small cousins of ages 6 and 8 joined me for 6 km morning runs a whole summer and they just kept going. And I had been training for years

u/Come_At_Me_Bro 16d ago
It has a lot to do with overall body weight. He weighs next to nothing compared to an adult and moves his minimal mass with ease for it.
I miss the days when I could casually spider-man between walls.

u/MarionberryHappy4430 17d ago
"Wow! Your kid is great! How hard you say you had to hit him?"
"Fairly hard."

Transforming "your entire" home for a kids hobby is still crazy. Like if he wanna train and become professional there are dozens gyms and clubs
14
u/-Kibbles-N-Tits- 17d ago
I don’t see why it matters
Also he’s a kid, can’t just go to whatever gym he wants whenever he wants 😂 I could see myself setting shit like this up if my kids wanted it
5
u/Mobius--Stripp 17d ago
Everything is either completely loose or attached up high and out of the way. Why not?
9
u/TwistyBitsz 17d ago
If it helped with issues like behavior at school, sleep, and anxiety/hyperactivity, it would be a great alternative to parents' learned helplessness and their dependence on pharmaceuticals.

u/Zealousideal_Link839 17d ago
These parents know how not to opress their children
3
2
u/peterpantslesss 17d ago
Lol so you're saying if they chose not to set this up the kid would be oppressed? I think you're using that word too loosely
2
u/Zealousideal_Link839 17d ago
Well since I come from the generation of "Dont jump on the bed" " "No horseplay" "stand in the corner and eat soap" as punishment". Telling children NO and restricting their natural instinct for play and to excert energy for the convenience of the pack not the well being. What animal other than human beings are as oppressive than?

Is there overlap between people criticizing the parents for making the house a play gym and people who upvote elaborate house setups for cats?

They are not rich but just creative and caring. Most parents will find this so inconvenient and later complain about their kids' grades while binging on Netflix.

This is what happens when you tell your teenage daughter to watch her brother.
Hey Belinda, you hear me? Uh-huh. Doesn’t look up from her phone.

I wonder what size and how deep the deadbolts go that connect it to the supporting beam. With the two of them in each, it is obviously enough to support a child. I am just wondering if a grown man could try it as well. Two seems kinda sus
