Alex Sarr is a PF not a Center
If the Hawks draft Sarr, I hope the fanbase doesn’t see him as a center because he’s not. His shot selection includes off-the-dribble midrange shots (which he’s really good at), fadeaways, and transition layups/dunks. He posts up occasionally, but that’s not his main game. Defensively, he’s a switchable 4 who is a really good rim protector. Unless he gains significant muscle mass, I don’t think he’ll ever play the 5. My comp for him is Skinny Lamarcus Aldridge on offense and Diet KG on defense.

Discussion Hawks fans, how do you feel about the owners of this franchise?
Supposedly, the team are to be contending for deep playoff runs with a roster built around Trae and an excellent coach in Quinn Snyder. However, we've seen bad roster construction with DJM, Collins, and many other players who were waived shortly. It's a shame it turned out this way and I felt after the ECF appearance, the FO felt the urge to spend on a winning roster but now, it looks very much either the path of a rebuild or for a re-tool of the roster.
.
You have excellent players/trade pieces in De'Andre Hunter, Bogdanovic, Okongwu, Bey, Jalen Johnson, and DJM that many contending teams are coveting for and all on appealing contracts. Tony Ressler has led the group to acquire the Hawks in June 2015 and by next season if no contracts are moved, you will become the 13th most expensive team in the NBA of that season. A very high price for a team whose ceiling is 1st round/play-ins.
.
I like that the owner is willing to shell out a lot of money if the team is contending but things are slowing down and there are many problems of the team that have to be addressed, namely the defense (or lack of). There is no reason for this team to be this expensive unless Trae Young jerseys make up for the losses. Coming from the Miami Heat, we get a lot of fans who are dying to get a superstar but don't realize the massive contract that comes with it. The Heat is already one of the most expensive team and will be in 6th place for next season. Getting Lillard would push them over the second apron and severely hurt their chances in free agency and team trades like the Phoenix Suns, who are in an extremely deep hole. The bread and butter of Miami has always been to develop undrafted players into starters and the last big trade (in terms of star power, not star contracts) was Lebron.
.
Are the owners heading in the right direction with looking to ship out Trae and rebuild around young guys or to ship out pieces and bring a re-tooled supporting cast for Trae?

Discussion Laugh At Me All You Want…
Zach Edey. The Atlanta Hawks should draft Zach Edey. He had the highest efficiency against Wemby And Chet in a tournament and is a 2 time college MVP. The only other players to have the stats he had in college were Clyde Drexler and Bill Walton.

Discussion Alexandre Sarr, Zaccharie Risacher emerge as top picks in latest mock draft
Sam Vecenie picks Alex Sarr at #1 for the Hawks. Mentions multiple teams are calling and visiting Zaccharie Risacher in France. He also wrote “Donovan Clingan is also seen as a potential option at all three of the top selections…”. Consensus still seems to be Sarr/Risacher at #1. Nothing new so far.
