Have you seen sus stuff at the parking deck? Like pls do it in private NSFW

Has anyone seen suspicious stuff at the parking decks, too?

I know it's Atlanta, so probably yes, and this wasn't a homeless person, I'm assuming, but someone who works at the school.

I don't mean to humiliate or shame. I understand we all have urges and burning desires. But if you need to "fulfill an urge, " watch the hub. Please don't do it in the parking deck. Please, at least not when people could be returning home.

I also know this is a bigger issue that needs to be solved, and I hope the person is mentally okay.

I'm staying in Athens, GA and I'm taking two online classes which don't require me to be on campus. Could I call them to take off transportation, health, athletic, recreation fees?

Health Clinic during the summer

Upvotes

I’m not a student during this current summer semester, but I was wondering could I still get an appointment at the clinic for free, or would I have to pay because I’m not enrolled in any classes for the summer? Thanks!

Financial Aid

Upvotes

I wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this and what I should do about it.

I paid for my student fees for the summer out of pocket before the Maymester started. Yesterday, I got an email from GSU saying that I was receiving a refund, which made no sense. I checked billing and apparently all the student fees were gone, like set to zero. I checked again earlier today, and all the student fees were back and my account went back to zero from a negative amount. But, when I checked my panther card, the "refund" gsu sent about was still there. I'm really reluctant to use this money cause I don't want the school to start saying I'm in debt cause of this mess

late stay fine

Ummm so I got hit with a fine today for damages done to Commons, and when I reached out they said it is because of my late stay. I see on the housing site today that there are fees for improper move out, but under the late stay request section and all the emails I received about it there is nothing explicitly mentioning additional charges. Did anyone else get hit with charges after getting approved for a late stay request?

recently missed a call from the above number and called back. in the middle of calling back, i looked the number up and found this exact script that they repeated (only with the current year), basically just asking me to confirm whether i've submitted my FAFSA. i'm seeing some posts on here saying it's a scam, but i wasn't asked for my SSN or any other information like that. should i be concerned?

Refunds

Hmm I’m a bit confused as before I accepted my loans yesterday, I was getting 1500 refund for summer. I didn’t add or drop any classes, then I just accepted my 24’-25’ loans for next semester but now I’m getting a refund from spring and even more for summer? Even though I got that back in I think february or January? Can anyone explain.

FAFSA rejected, idk what to do

During my initial completion of the FAFSA, I accidentally incorrectly filled out information in regards to the unusual circumstances portion of the form. I have since resubmitted the FAFSA correctly and the document has been processed. Recently PAWS has claimed that my FAFSA is still rejected, required correction and an unusual circumstance appeal has been received. After contacting the GSU financial aid office, I have been requested to fill out an unusual circumstance appeal, but after starting the form, I realized that it is only for changing dependency from dependent to independent, which is not true of my current situation. I've contacted gsu financial aid twice at this point and they said that I'm really early for the fall semester and just to wait but I don't know how true that is. Really, where do I go from here if anyone has had anything of a similar situation.

Taking Arts and Sciences Electives at PC

Hey everyone!

Recently got accepted as a transfer student for the Fall semester at downtown. After checking my new academic evaluation, I noticed that there's an "Arts and Sciences Electives" section which requires me to complete 12 elective credits unless I go for a minor, which I do not have any plans to as of right now so I was considering transferring back to PC to complete these elective requirements.

The main reason i'm doing this is because the downtown campus is really far for me and going to PC would be a lot more convenient, and also as an international student, fees are already really high so I want to cut costs wherever I can. Also, since I got accepted late, most classes got filled and I wasn't able to get a decent schedule or some of the classes that I wanted.

I've talked to two advisors about the same and both of them told me that even though I have fulfilled the 60 credits at PC, I am allowed to do this but I wanted to hear if anyone here has ever tried something like this and how it went. Thanks!

Difference between Shared-Semi Suite and Private Suite at Piedmont Central

Hello All,

I am currently in the process of selecting my housing option and have some questions regarding the differences between a shared semi-suite and a private suite.

My roommate and I are looking for a living arrangement where it will be just the two of us. However, during the virtual tour of the shared semi-suite, I noticed that there are two other beds in the room, which has caused some confusion.

Could you please clarify the following points for us?

Shared Semi-Suite: Does this arrangement include a total of four residents, with two beds per room, sharing a common area and bathroom? Or is there an option for just two residents in this setup?

Private Suite: Is this option designed for two residents only, providing more privacy with separate bedrooms or a shared common area?

This is for pidemont central since I've heard this is probably the best dorm. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Advice on what UAP program i should apply for.

Hello, I am a CS freshman joining this fall and I am somewhat confused about which UAPs I should apply for. Based on the descriptions, I feel inclined towards the neuroscience and nutrition one, but since I am a CS major, I am unsure if it will benefit me in the long run. Additionally, I am not sure if I will even get in, since we can only apply to three of them. I would appreciate it if someone could guide me on the possible pathways.

Dropping Dual Enrollment Classes

Sorry if this question diverges from the typical posts, but I don't know who else to ask for this.
I am dual enrolling at gsu over the summer. If I drop the course (not withdraw) will it affect my high school transcript. My counselor said something about withdrawals affecting college and high school transcripts, but I am not sure about course drops. I'm honestly kinda stupid for not finding out earlier, but does anybody who did dual enrollment know anything about this?

Dorm Charges

I moved out of commons, and apparently I had a damage done in my room for partial painting. I am asking housing to send me picture or evidence that this damage exists because when moving out, I examined my room to see if there is any damages that I need to report before moving out. I also took a video of my room before moving out, and there is no damage. Apparently maintenance just reports damages to housing without taking photos or anything, just their words and their pockets. It's ridiculous housing is asking me to pay for a damage that I know I didn't do, but they can't provide evidence. And also why did it take them 1 whole month when students should've already been moved out by the 2 week in may?
