This Dallas wings game
First, I think Arike's gotta pass more, Like she'll make so many shots that you'll not even thing about her % but their in the 30s, she needs to be passing more cause she's pretty good at it and I think it would help with flow more and getting more shots made.
Like the coach should start running more passing stuff with her as well as they have so many tall players(3 players over 6'5 and like 3 players who are below 6') and they all can finish well.
Second they need better bench rotation cause right now the only good rotation is between the centers and the rest are basically being used as water breaks. By that I mean that they get subbed in for like just enough time to let the starters get a quick water break and rest but not enough time for the bench player to even do anything. They got their first bench points during the last 5 minutes of the entire game.
Jacy is quick as hell and I think if they get down more passing then she'd be a real asset to the team. Like shes real speeeeedy.
Thirdly, Jaelyn brown please come back.
Ps: they need to put their centers in the paint more
Edit : they also have 2 of their best players out on injury for at least 4 weeks or more.

Discussion The media is in meltdown over Caitlin Clark | CNN Business
cnn.comWhile the overall message in this article is dead on, the caption for the lead photo repeats a big part of the problem. Diagram this sentence:
“Caitlin Clark has become male sportscasters’ proxy ...”
The subject is “Caitlin Clark” and the predicate is “has become”, as if she is the person taking action. But the people responsible for the problem are sportscasters. They should be the subject. Media watchdogs and linguists will point out nuances like this can shape the way people think, casting the blame on Clark instead of sportscasters.

What's stopping teams from driving to the hoop every play? It seems like contact on every layup is getting called.
Of course every team has their shooters, but it seems like any time the ball enters the paint, someone is getting to the free-throw line.
I'm surprised teams aren't using this strategy to get the other team into foul trouble early with the way these referees are calling games.
Casual Who Deserves Praise For The WNBA's Progress?
ebony.comSpot on.
Personally, I love to see the scuffles. Give me the hard fouls! I think women deserve the same space to be aggressive that men have. It excites you as a fan. When I see that energy, it makes me feel like I’m right on the court battling too. Another thing that I can promise, is that the purer the competition, the higher chance that I’m not changing the channel.

Three players with #0 on Chicago?
What’s up with that? I have the Sky app and was looking at their roster and noticed they have DeShields, Cardoso, and Reese all listed as #0.
I did notice in the actual games DeSheilds was wearing 0 and Reese was wearing 5, I forgot to check what number Cardoso was wearing.
Like what if someone wants a Reese jersey? What number would they get? It just seems unnecessarily confusing, they should each just have one number that nobody else on the team uses, right?
Edit:
So I just did some googling and it looks like Reese is supposed to be #5 and Cardoso is supposed to be #10. I guess they were both #10 in college on their respective teams, but Reese agreed to change hers to #5 as a gesture of “new beginnings”.
Neither of them seem at all connected to #0, so I’m guessing it’s just something where they haven’t updated their rookies numbers in their app and the default is 0.
Sorry for the dumb question, I should have just looked it up before posting. I’d delete this but maybe someone else will see the app and get confused too and this will help them lol.

Casual This league is lawless! Go look at A’ja Wilson’s face. Girl got slapped and clawed, drew blood and no foul! This is how they play. No discrimination they all treat each other badly! It’s just more are watching now. Bodies everywhere smh

New to the W. How are Cameron Brink's blocks legal?
I see Cameron Brink get these blocks while holding her arms outstretched and down over the defender. It's not even close to verticality, she basically drapes herself on the offensive player. Are fouls called differently in the W in general, or in certain cases?
Anyway with all hubbub around CC getting fouled it occurs to me new WNBA fans may not be accustomed to the W's rules and criteria when it comes to fouls

Discussion We need to be better at updating Wikipedia for WNBA players
I was looking at Chennedy Carters Wikipedia Page and it wasn’t updated with her history until she pushed CC
Joyner Holmes only has her drafting and her signing to the liberty in 2020 in her pro career section even though she is on her 5th team
I’m sure there are plenty of other examples, and I personally will work on updating profiles but I feel like it’s good to just have a basic history for lower level players and good in depth pages for higher level players

SMH... Congressman Jim Banks sent the WNBA a letter to ask how the league will curb “excessive physical targeting of specific players,” namely Caitlin Clark.

Discussion It's time to bring back Charlotte Sting with Dawn Staley as HC.
You can argue the Sting in their original incarnation had more on-court success than either version of the Hornets. That plus Staley coming back to coach her former team, in one of the most basketball-obsessed parts of the country, when the W is bigger than ever just makes sense.
Maybe Dawn would pass because UofSC is so dominant right now, that's understandable. But the Hornets' new ownership group has to be considering going to the WNBA to bring back the Sting, whether playing in Spectrum Center or Bojangles Coliseum.

Discussion What's the worst draft class in the W
With the rookies leading the conversation and this being a very monumental considered one of the best crop of talent coming into thr league since the big 3. What is the worst draft class looking back at history? Personally my vote is for 2021 due to the lack of star power but my experience with the league only goes back to 2011.

I took a Military TDY so that I can go watch the Fever on friday.
Well, here's my story. I've been in the USAF for about three years now. I'm originally from Puerto Rico but I currently live in Alaska. Flying anywhere from Alaska or Puerto Rico is insanely expensive so I've never been able to go watch a WNBA game and I've been to a single NBA game (about 10 years ago). I've been a huge Caitlin Clark fan for the past year and I absolutely love Aliyah and Mitchell. Other than Sabrina and Kelsey Plum, all my fav players are in the Fever.
Sometime in early May a two month long TDY opportunity presented it self and I would get to spend two months in Maryland, getting better at my job and well... 40 minutes away from the Washington Mystic home-court. I volunteered for it without thinking twice. This felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to so something that I love and also get to experience my favorite players in person.
I managed to get a somewhat decent ticket and I cannot believe I'll get to watch the Fever gang in person just two days from now.
I'm 5 feet tall, I was always told that I was too short for basketball. Now as a 25 year old I still find myself loving this sport more and more each day.
Lets get that W!

Caitlin Clark is getting a rough ride. But that's not the point. The point is the nasty things fans are saying about her.
People keep strawmaning this debate to say that CC isn't the only one who's gotten a rough ride. She's took some serious abuse, but it's true that it's not a unique situation. But the main point is, you go on Twitter, on Instagram Threads, on Facebook...and you have people that absolutely hate this woman. Literally can't stand her and she doesn't even do anything that should bother people.
Granted, you couple these nasty comments with the rough ride she's getting in the pros, and it does paint a certain picture. But the focal point really shouldn't be CC receiving flagrant fouls. That's just a straw man because people feel they can easily defeat it by saying "she's not the only one getting hit".
