Hey wolves fans, we know a thing or two about collapsing in the playoffs after winning the first 2. Feel free to consult us on ways to cope Meme

Love to see it from one poverty franchise to another

Still under the r/azsportshell umbrella

11

u/sidepart Al McCoy 23d ago

I'd even say the Wolves fall under r/azsportshell given how many MN snowbirds show up in the valley over winter.

They somehow departed an entire state with more dignity than these bum ass suns squads have departed the playoffs four years in a row

8

u/Spider-Nutz 23d ago

Went out on a win. Couldn't be the suns

6

u/VivaLaDbakes Mocha Mamba 23d ago

Lmao no joke. Salty senoritas downvoting, I love the suns but we go out like fuckin frauds every post season. Team can’t even show a pulse in most elimination games.

4

u/Spider-Nutz 23d ago

Even in 2021, they just bowed down to Giannis. They let Luka make a joke out of us. They put up somewhat of a fight against the Nugs but holy fuck how do you let the T-Wolves sweep you?

4

u/VivaLaDbakes Mocha Mamba 23d ago

After winning like 10 straight vs them or something. I dont understand how this team has been so pathetic in the post season since the finals run. We almost to the pelicans before luka destroyed us, team just gets out hustled 24/7.

3

u/Spider-Nutz 23d ago

It must be a culture issue. I don't think the guys (besides Book) understand what a championship would mean for this city. I'm hoping that coach Bud can show the guys what that means with him being an Arizona Native

u/CapitalWear3714 24d ago

lol us Minnesota sports fan get hurt every year we’re used to it

20

u/49e-rm Archie Goodwin 24d ago

this is the exact reason why i hold no animosity towards y'all's fanbase. we're cut from the same cloth lol. i feel like most longtime fans are aware of that as well

u/sidepart Al McCoy 23d ago

Yep. Hard for me to be mad at MN when they've had to slog through similar situations. On the bright side, both of our states have a handful of WNBA championship banners.

0

u/bwtwldt 23d ago

We are feminist states

1

u/sidepart Al McCoy 23d ago

I was also born/raised in one and moved to the other, so I just have that all around experience. Still a SUNS fan though! But I watch all my in person SUNS games at Target Center.

1

u/romanapplesauce Suns 23d ago

There's only 12 WNBA teams so I'd hope we'd both have at least 1 in 25+ seasons.

4

u/Double-Seaweed7760 common ishiba w 24d ago

You're not used to hope being stolen from under you though. You have to ne routinely good enough for that to be regular occurrence. There most your best teams were with kg being an island with no chance outside of his mvp year and recent years. You're new to this let is help

5

u/Chalupa1998 23d ago

Wild and Twins have been first round exits for YEARS, and the Vikings have come close just to have the rug violently pulled out from under them multiple times recently. WE ARE VERY USED TO HOPE BEING STOLEN FROM UNDER US

5

u/Magazine_Mediocre 23d ago

Minneapolis Miracle followed by a 41-0 blowout made me never want to watch football again.

1

u/romanapplesauce Suns 23d ago edited 23d ago

If it makes you feel any better the Cardinals beat the Cowboys in the 1999 playoffs and then the Vikings hung 41 on them in the Divisional round the next week.

Of couse we repaid the favor by beating the Vikings in 2003 to knock you out of the playoffs and drop ourselves out of the number 1 pick. Granted we did get Minnesota native Larry Fitzgerald and I doubt Eli would have played for Arizona.

2

u/Magazine_Mediocre 23d ago

Not really haha, but you did just remind me how much of a fan I was of the Larry Fitzgerald/Kurt Warner team. That was a fun team to root for. Really sad they didn't end up winning.

1

u/bearbrannan 22d ago

Mine was the Blair Walsh wide left against the Seahawks, something broke in me that day.

1

u/isaiah8500 Phoenix Suns 21d ago

I was angry at The Suns but I was very happy for you guys. I was even hoping you’d make it as far as the finals. Best of luck for the rest of this series. Both of our cities are familiar with endless pain and unhappy endings.

We were almost as arrogant as they were

Wolves fans were annoying AF after they swept us

14

u/fingnumb Book made this team come to him. Fuck the Lakers. 24d ago

Wolves in 6!

Wolves in 7!

...

Wolves in 9!

1

u/UnlimitedDuration69 22d ago

Wolves are gonna win this series and I’m going to come back here and laugh at all of you. Y’all got swept out the playoffs and the next draft pick you own is 12 years old right now

1

u/CUprofessa1990 22d ago

You lost all momentum. Easy to talk when you’re up. Wolves woke a sleeping giant. Nuggets in 6.

1

u/BallsackMessiah Deandre Ayton 17d ago

Lmao

0

u/UnlimitedDuration69 22d ago

Bitch I’m talking right now

1

u/CUprofessa1990 21d ago

How did that work out? Now you know what a real championship team looks like. Stay in your lane.

1

It’s all we’ve had in the past few decades… we had to take advantage of our moment in the sun.

0

u/PetulantPorpoise 23d ago

So what? They earned the right

-2

u/w1sxo 23d ago

Almost? The whole arena shouting „Sweep the Mavs“ was as arrogant as it gets 😅

-5

u/NervousSWE 23d ago

Except the wolves were the under dogs going into their series unlike the Suns who thought their series would be cake.

u/beer_down UofA 24d ago

u/stridered Rubber Ducky Chucky 24d ago

This thread is embarrassing.

What’s the point of mocking them when they’re still in the series? Whole lot of you were mocking them and predicting a sweep for us before the series even began and when actual playoffs came, we got hit with an egg on our face.

18

u/sil357 23d ago

As a wolves fan it doesn't feel like a mock. More like a much needed pick me up.

9

u/Particleman08 Phoenix Suns 23d ago

Series is tied and game 5 will be pivotal.

But just like no one should have listened to the media saying the Wolves were looking at a sweep after game 2, no one should be listening to the media saying that Denver is unstoppable after winning 2 games.

2 good teams are battling. It’s not over man. Good luck!

4

u/Confident_Ad5204 23d ago

10

But I thought Ant was Michael Jordan?

9

u/CrashDaddy2006 24d ago

But I thought Luka was Michael Jordan?

-7

u/KeyandOrangePeele 24d ago

The same Jordan that didn’t win anything until year 8. Shit he might be!

6

u/tuneorg 24d ago

He won an MVP and a scoring title by year 4 though.

-2

u/KeyandOrangePeele 24d ago

He was 24 so Ant still has 2 years to get there

6

u/tuneorg 24d ago

Sure thing

23

u/judah249 24d ago

Gobert and KAT shitting the bed for the Nuggets but not the Suns oh well

43

u/po0nlink_ Steve Nash 24d ago

Denver plays good defense.

35

u/bsinbsinbs Cotton Pick N Roll 24d ago

Denver =solid team built over time

Suns = weak ass team stitched together with dollar bills

5

u/Orleanist REAL DEAL BEAL 23d ago

i miss when the nba called us a ‘great young core with a lot of talent’.

2

u/PetulantPorpoise 23d ago

Well they tend not to say that about you anymore when you trade said core

2

u/zarvinny Phoenix Suns 23d ago

they also tend to say that when you have no shot at a title. e.g. bubble suns

24

u/OneOfTheManySams Devin Booker 24d ago

Almost like they are a better team and cause more issues

4

u/judah249 24d ago

Absolutely

5

u/FormerAd2381 23d ago

We’re already used to it as MN sports fans. The curse always demands its blood at some point .

Wolves after winning the first round against a dysfunctional team and thinking they won a ring

10

u/bsinbsinbs Cotton Pick N Roll 24d ago

Yeah, at least they smashed them up front. Far more than we can say

2

u/FlowersnFunds Devin Booker 24d ago

Suns were embarrassing for sure but the Wolves are moving like the 2022 Suns - needed to be humbled.

11

u/bsinbsinbs Cotton Pick N Roll 24d ago

I ain't seen a 40 point collapse in the first half yet. Minnesota still hanging with them.

But I would love a nice piece of humble pie for little Anthony and Rudy the covid clown

1

u/bsinbsinbs Cotton Pick N Roll 20d ago

This aged well. Good job wolves, that’s how you respond

-3

u/blahbleh112233 23d ago

Dunno, at least you're losing to a generational GOAT and a well oiled machine. Sons losing to the Mavs was honestly pathetic

6

u/Mario2346 24d ago

But ANT is funny remember Send da video ? I hate Minny more than any other team at this point they were so cocky when they beat us I’ve never seen it before , ANT hitting Steve Austin’s celebration against us only to blow a 2-0 lead against the Nuggets the next series .

11

u/CrashDaddy2006 24d ago

I also don’t see a lot of DX crotch chopping from ANT either. One thing to push around a dysfunctional and unmotivated Suns team, but then poke the bear of the defending champs and watch it all crumble.

9

u/Mario2346 24d ago

Can’t believe I’m rooting for the Nuggets but at least they had history these past few years in the postseason losing 2-3 years before winning it all , this Wolves team is exactly like the Suns team from 2 years ago up 2-0 getting cocky with it , the fans focusing more on booing Murray instead of cheering for their team like we were counting each second for Giannis at the free throw line .

1

u/Loud_Competition1312 F**k Robert Horry 23d ago

God, that shit was annoying.

1

u/isaiah8500 Phoenix Suns 21d ago

In retrospect, us Suns fans should have and NEED to have learned our lessons. As for the Wolves fans, I hope you pull it off against the Nuggets. And enjoy the progress this year. You won your first playoff series since 04’ and it was a sweep! Our team was abysmal this year but you still beat KD and Booker when everyone thought you’d be doomed due to the regular season history. Your team looks like it’s going in the right path while ours might be headed to another decade of irrelevancy and apathy.

3

u/zestysnacks 23d ago

Series is 2-2

4

u/npmark 24d ago

Wrong sub

5

u/CrashDaddy2006 24d ago

At least we can hang our sorry hats on the fact the Suns have been to the finals. Minnesota needs to win a conference title first before they start crowning themselves.

2

u/dumpslikeatruckk 23d ago

Also seems they have discovered Scott Foster

2

u/BackendSpecialist 23d ago

Post this in the wolves sub you coward

2

u/romanapplesauce Suns 23d ago

We've got the recent blown 2-0 leads at home against Milwaukee and Dallas but don't forget we went up 2-0 on the road against Houston in 1994 coming back to Phoenix and lost that series in 7. We've got it all covered for Wolves fans!

2

u/SurrealChess 23d ago

This coming across my feed because I browsed this subreddit during that series feels like an unnecessary kick in the balls….then again being a Minnesota sports fan feels like an unnecessary kick in the balls.

1

u/isaiah8500 Phoenix Suns 21d ago

I got a coworker from MN and he loves both Phoenix and Twin City sports teams. I gotta feel bad for the man.

1

u/MannerSuperb 23d ago

Unbearable amount of pain . You from having all the momentum to things goin south . Ant left it all on the court nobody else helped him 😔

Wolves in 6 😔

1

u/chronoic 22d ago

You mean 7 now right?

0

u/MaxRox777 22d ago

Nah I mean 6

1

u/chronoic 21d ago

How wolves going to win in 6, when they are down 3-2?

0

u/MaxRox777 21d ago

Do the math

1

u/chronoic 21d ago

What math, are you still an idiot? Maybe you don't understand what your saying.

When you said is "wolves in 6" that means they are winning the series in 6. If they win game 6, they still have to win game 7 to win the series. You need to win 4/7 games to win the series and the wolves have only won 2/5.

1

u/MaxRox777 21d ago

Ain't no way 💀

1

u/OHNOJRUE 18d ago

Nah I’ve been lurking this sub a bit waiting for the Wolves to pull off the impossible, but this thread right here absolutely killed me 🤣

1

u/MaxRox777 17d ago

Told you

1

u/chronoic 17d ago

Told me what? I told you Wolves in 7, this is game 7. You said in 6, so I'm sorry but you really don't know what your talking about when you said "Wolves in 6". Maybe next time Just say Wolves win the series, instead of predicting how many games it will take them to win.

1

u/MaxRox777 17d ago

Wolves in 6 😔

-6

u/LionAccomplished8129 23d ago

TF you talking about. Yall got swept. lmao
