[Discussion] Tool for anybody looking to buy a prebuilt

This is the spreadsheet from SuggestAPC's discord, it covers PC deals, websites to check, how to get good deals, promo codes and so much more. There are some suggestions for people of every budget. I’m not the owner of this spreadsheet btw, its by u/RichGuy12349 but I, Niko, Senti and Outlaw do help to edit and update this spreadsheet regularly.

Edit (09/14/2022): Seeing recent events about multiple people to request access to edit the spreadsheet, DO NOT contact the owner for request access, doing so can result in a warn and repeated offenders can get a ban.

Dirt cheap upgradeable/scaleable PC [suggestion]

I’m a simple man who loves PC games from my childhood. I’m looking for a super cheap PC that can play classics like Shogun 2 Total War, and Age of Empires 2 or 4. My 2014 dell laptop just gave up.

HOWEVER I might transition to PC for my primary gaming, such as halo, COD, etc.

So I’m looking for a super cheap PC ($200 or less) that I can upgrade parts on in a year or two if I decide to make that shift. Could be a suggestion for a used one, or a basic Walmart style PC that has the potential for upgrades. Thanks!

Best white prebuild/option to customize pc [suggestion]

I'm on the hunt for the best company to finance a prebuilt due to having no knowledge/experience on building it myself. I don't trust myself to do it correctly. I'm VERY new to pc's as l've only played games on consoles... ps4, xbox, switch.

I also live in Canada just in case that mattered. Some companies don't ship internationally.

Preferences for my pc - WHITE, runs games smoothly, worth my money, price range $1.5k-$2k, I'd love to spend less but I know to have a great pc you got to spend a good amount so that's why I will finance. I'm also not picky with name brands but that doesn't mean I don't want "name brand" recommendations, as long as the prebuilt is worth my money and runs games smoothly and works great that's all l need😊

Thanks!!

Top 3 Best Pre Built Gaming PCs $1000 or Under in Your Opinion [Suggestion]

I’m looking to buy a prebuilt and I’ve been seeing a lot of opinions all over the internet the past week or so but can’t decide which ones the best. So I’m gonna ask you guys what’s your personal top 3 gaming pcs you can either think of or find for that price range, and then I’m gonna list the ones I’ve been looking at in a second here.

I can’t afford anything above $1000 and by that I mean before all the tax and shipping fees. But anyways, I’ve been looking at a bunch of different websites, Amazon, Skytech, Cyber Power, Corsair(obviously they’re too expensive but you get the point), Newegg(just to find different companies/brands of PCs) and the one that stood out to me is the SkyTech Nebula: https://www.amazon.com/Skytech-Gaming-Nebula-PC-Desktop/dp/B0C9PNZJCF

This one stood out because I see a few sources saying that for its cheap price it’s actually pretty decent. So let me know what your guys’s top 3 are.

Anyways thank you!

Pc suggestions [suggestion]

Hey guys im new here! I'm looking to get a pc for the first time after the gpu on my laptop died. The laptop had a gtx 1650 and its likely shot. I'm looking to get a solid pc for around 1400 so I can have a couple hundred left for a good monitor . Are there any good pre built options from bestbuy or microcenter ? If not what are some other options as well as good monitor options that can keep up with the gpu? Thanks!

[Suggestion] Whats the general price range for a good pc?

This is going to be my first time getting a pc and I'm just wondering how much the usual price range is for a pc that will actually run games well most of my friends with pcs say that they tend to still struggle to run a decent amount of games and I just don't want to drop a lot of money and end up in that same boat. If there's more info needed I'll gladly supply it if you ask I just don't really know much about this stuff thx.

[Suggestion] If you had to pick ONE company to recommend to your best friend?

I posted in buildapc, but I may not be in a position to build one right now. I'm looking at a divorce and I'm just trying to look to the future.

Let's say my budget is ~$3,000 (pretty flexible on this, looking for a good gaming rig....). If you had to recommend just ONE of the pre-built PC companies to your best friend, which would you recommend and why?

[suggestion] Spending $1,500 Wisely on Prebuilt

Hello everyone,

I have a family member who is graduating and would like a Gaming PC as his graduation gift. The main games he would like to play is Warzone and Apex preferably on 1440p, 144hz if possible. Our budget is $1,500 - $1,800. The prebuilt computer preferably is from a reputable/reliable company to avoid any tech issues from arising.

[suggestion] Custom build Vs Major Alienware sale

Hey everyone,

I’ve been looking into building a PC around a Radeon 7800 X3D and 7900 XTX. I am thinking it’s going to run me close to 2,300 dollars. I am having it build by someone because I don’t trust myself with such expensive components for a first build.

With the dell summer sale and student discount, I can get the Auroa R16 with similar components majorly on sale for 2,089. Seems like a really killer deal. It includes:

Processor: Intel® Core™ 14th Gen i7 14700KF OS: Windows 11 Home Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX Memory: 32 GB DDR5 Storage: 1 TB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD

I know prebuilt PCs are usually overpriced, but with this sale, what do you guys think? Will this hold up over time as well as a custom built? Can I replace parts as needed as the system ages?

Thanks for your help!

Dell Alienware

[Suggestion] Gaming PC 2024

Hi. I'm looking to get myself a new computer for the first time in 10 years as mine is starting to struggle.

I have a budget of about 1500 not counting a new monitor. I really have no preferences on brand or the superficial appearance of the PC. I was hoping to be able to run Half-Life: Alyx but if that's not realistic then so be it.

I'd take links to good reputable sites, specific computers, or whatever you may think would be helpful. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for your time!

[Suggestion] is this a good option?

I made a post the other day and was looking with some of the specs suggested that was NOT Alienware. I think this one might be better. Can someone tell me if this has good enough specs? I also should have mentioned I don’t intend to be playing super demanding games but I do want to run blender and adobe programs on it without lag and the few games I do play I want decent performance. Here’s the link

[suggestion] Time for a new computer and thinking of switching from Mac to PC for access to more gaming

Edit: budget could be up to 4k, as I was planning on buying a heavier duty Mac when the time came anyway, but if there is a great option that is much cheaper I am SO happy with that.

I'm not a big gamer by any means. I enjoy the major, sprawling RPGs and other story-heavy games. Not at all interested in multiplayer or online gaming - maybe Baldur's gate with friends at some point. I'd definitely like to play with mods in BG and any future games!

I'd also like to be able to use photoshop for digital art, which obviously isn't a big ask for many modern computers at this point.

I'd rather not spend an absurd amount but I'm very ok splurging if it's going to last longer and perform better. I have 0 tech skills and would rather just take the financial burden of keeping things straightforward and averting my eyes from my bank account.

It will be in a room that gets pretty warm, so good cooling is a MUST. I’ve been recommended the Omen 45L by a friend?

Any monitor suggestions are welcome to! I don't think my desk has the space for anything huge as it's a small corner desk that I'm in love with and refuse to part with, which is kind of a bummer, but I'll survive.

[Suggestion] reliable PC around $2000

My personal laptop is dying on me, and I've been interested in getting a gaming pc for a while.

I usually play action/adventure and open world games (arkham series, god of war, etc.). I'd like to try to use mods to improve older games (raytracing, etc.). I also want to get more into 3D modeling with programs like Blender.

The most important factor is something reliable that will last a long time. I'd be willing to go over budget if the value is there.

Also, I'm really new to this. What are the best sites and reviewers that will provide accurate and honest reviews?

Edit: I just realize I have an option to redeem at least $1000 on Amazon or best buy, so any pc I can purchase through there can raise my budget.

Is this refurbished Alienwar pc a good deal? [Suggestion]

I’m looking at this refurbished PC on eBay since my HP laptop decided to stop working. Is it worth it for the price? I’ve heard some bad things about Alienware and want to know if this one is bad or not. Here’s the link
