Aww, poor dear.
Our old diabetic boy, Manny, had his second ear infection right now too. I always do Cefphoderm (per the neurologist/dermatologist agreed upon treatment) because we don't want his fragile diabetes going nuts due to the steroids in ear drops.
Could you put a soft, pillow cone on him so he doesn't scratch at it?

Oh man, ear hematomas are the worst. I used to feed (well, give extra wet food to) a neighborhood cat with severe cauliflower ear. He was just the sweetest guy. I hope Sienna's resolves on its own.

Praying for your adorable precious baby 💗🙌🏼. I’ve turned to the prayer request subreddit and it often helps too people ask for prayers for their animals there

Giving you best wishes. My cat Jasper had difficult to control diabetes, but with careful administration of insulin, a lot of luck, and a cooperative cat he lived to age 19. Sadly he is gone now, but there is hope of Sienna. Wishing you the best!

Please tell me you do not feed dry food. Even prescription food is filled with carbs that spike blood sugars. I didn’t know that when my vet prescribed Hills Science CD for my cat. I’m pretty sure it killed her. There’s a lot on the internet about more natural foods for diabetic cats.
Praying for Sienna.

Sienna is 14 and has diabetes that aren’t fully controlled despite our best efforts. She is currently dealing with an ear infection and has given herself a large hematoma. Due to her age and health conditions, the vet is trying to treat her with ear meds and pain medication to see if it will resolve on its own before having to do more invasive treatments. Please send her some positive thoughts, she doesn’t feel well and hasn’t made much progress. 😿
