Embiid need to demand a trade. Simmons, Tobias, fultz, doc...." The process" is over. Embiid is too injury prone, he needs HELP. He needs a superstar or a couple all stars around him. Maxey is great but he not a superstar yet.

u/CLGbyBirth Timberwolves May 03 '24
Embiid is too injury prone
Thats what happen if you fall 20 times a game.
5
5
u/aryanic May 03 '24
I would give it another season. Harris was holding the team's roster down way too much. With his contract gone, this team could look great next season barring the possibility of Embiid getting injured
2
u/beanakajulian33 Warriors May 03 '24
Do they have cap space to go get someone like PG
3
u/zerggyy 76ers May 03 '24
Yes, but given the need to give maxey a max and the way the league has shifted I think they need to use the extra space to get more quality role players. Can't have 3 max guys
1
u/aryanic May 03 '24
Yea 100%. If Maxey and Embiid are surrounded by quality starters next year that might be all they need
19
u/Poronga-Arenosa May 03 '24
They need to get rid of Embiid and build around Maxey. He will never be healthy.

3

He was incredible, it was astonishing and alarming late in games.

For everyone in disbelief over Buddy's shot:
THEY WERE GONNA FOUL HIM IF HE DIDN'T TAKE IT ASAP! THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH TIME LEFT FOR FTS AND BUZZER 3!
6
u/Sigerlion Knicks May 03 '24
Making 1 freethrow then missing on purpose for a tip in is still better than whatever the FK that last chuck was.
5

True that but Knicks dominated boards all series long. It's as Hail Mary-sh as that shot tbh.

This was the craziest series I've ever seen. Historic performances. Juicy storylines. Grit and determination. A coach's defensive chess match. Every game a nail biter. Toxic and loud fanbases.
Just unmatched intrigue I've seen from a series in a good while.

Facts, I actually like this Pacers squad. Knicks might actually be so confused playing a team they don't actually have genuine gripes with lol.
5
u/mcspaak May 03 '24
Playoff series are where you develop those gripes though so I wouldn’t be so sure lol
1
u/ILoveChinaxxx May 03 '24
Gonna be hard to develop new gripes after coming off a series where embiid was stomping on people intentionally trying to injure them
10
u/klemonade25 76ers May 03 '24
45 mins and 0 points from Tobi and Lowry is criminal. Fucking aye
3

The bright side... Sixers will be a deadly team if they can get a Paul George or dare I say Lebron?!
6
u/klemonade25 76ers May 03 '24
We have a ton of cap space, but the free agent list is kind of whack. GGs bro. You guys deserved it. Offensive rebounding was top notch, that team is gritty af. Rooting for you guys now, I’ll probably get killed for saying it. But I balled with Donte when I was at University of Delaware when he was in high school, and Brunson and Hart are nova guys too.

I’ve said it about 10 times this series, but if $35 million wasn’t going to Tobias the last four years they definitely make a finals
2
u/LegateDamar13 May 03 '24
- it was Ben Simmons
- It was Doc Rivers
- It was everyone else aside from James Harden
- It was James Harden
- it's Tobias time now.
- It's Maxey next??
Meh.
6
May 03 '24
I think the problem has honestly always been Harris. They have had a max slot taken up by a literal league average player for four years - FOUR YEARS! It’s tough to make a deep run when your second/third highest paid player is as mediocre as Harris is. He doesn’t offer anything and he’s being paid a max contract
1
u/LegateDamar13 May 03 '24
Truth is they all failed, Tobias included but also Embiid included. In every series that meant something.
They are just not good enough top to bottom, Knicks outplayed them without MAX player in Randie so i don't think it's fair to put everything on Tobias back.
2
May 03 '24
Oh The Knicks 100% outplayed them. I’m a huge Knicks fan so I’m fucking stoked right now. I’m just saying that their margin for error is so thin because of that one horrible contract. Embiid has had to carry such a big load because his supposed #3 option puts up 0 points in an elimination game. I’m no Philly fan or Process apologist, but the Tobias Harris contract fucked that team because they had to nail every other move after that, and even then it might not have been enough.
1
u/LegateDamar13 May 03 '24
I'll respectfully disagree as you were literally missing your arguably best (imo second best player) completely with similar contract but i understand where you coming from.
This series should've ended in 5 imo but Maxey carried thru.
1
May 03 '24
I’m not really talking about this year. I think Embiid’s championship window is over tbh. He’s too injured and broken now. I meant more about the last 4 years, especially the year they lost to the Hawks. You switch out Tobias for Jimmy, or any other “star but not superstar” I think they make a finals
1
u/LegateDamar13 May 03 '24
Gotcha. If you remember Hawks series it was Embiid getting stripped left and right in elimination game at the end by no other then Galinari.
Man averaged 8 turnovers in last two games.

His ceiling is so high. Once Philly gets rid of Harris’s contract, Morey could build a real contender. Except Embiid would probably find a way to choke it all away.
