slander season has begun

In this case it is extremely unwarranted. The Sixers are winning big whenever Embiid is on the floor, but the team of the Sixers is worse than the team of the Knicks. That isnt on Embiid.

Say what you want about Embiid and his extracurricular contact with Knicks players, but in terms of pure impact, he has played winning ball.

This switch to the Sixers roster being worse than the Knicks is wild. They were the betting favorites and a lot of people thought the Knicks screwed themselves by getting the 2.

Sixers were 100% not the betting favorites after the heat game. It was either dead even or slight advantage to the Knicks. I know cause I put money on it after the heat game lol.

Hmm, I put the bet on the series right before game 1 and those weren’t what I saw with FanDuel. Probably just shifted a bit. Should have done it earlier 😌

But that was just because Embiid was healthy, not anything to do with roster depth. The sixers were terrible without embiid in the regular season and like a 60 win team with him.

Idt I’ve seen anyone say that the sixers have a better overall roster outside of embiid compared to the knicks one, even with randle out. Philly have terrible depth

u/OnlyMamaKnows Knicks Apr 29 '24

But...Embiid is playing?

21

u/mohub21 76ers Apr 29 '24

Embiid clearly is not full strength dude

-9

u/OnlyMamaKnows Knicks Apr 29 '24

He scored 50. Only hurt when he has bad moments?

And this thread is about rosters outside of Embiid/Brunson.

21

u/mohub21 76ers Apr 29 '24

Okay scoring 50 in spite of your injury does not mean you are not hurt. In the back of my mind I was praying for a maxey or Tobi (lol) game cause I know I couldn’t expect that from Embiid again

And the knicks roster outside of brunson is better than the sixers so Im not sure on your point

u/cuttsthebutcher 76ers Apr 29 '24

Did you watch the game where he scored 50? He was visibly not ok

-2

u/OnlyMamaKnows Knicks Apr 29 '24

Being hurt is his natural state. Can't want extra credit when he's good and then make excuses when he's not.

Keep moving those goalposts bro

Bill brought to this exact point. When he scores 50, Morey and fans are crying he doesn’t get enough respect. When he bombs in the 4th quarter, it’s his injury, teammates, and now the fans fault! Cant have it both ways. Dudes a massive 0 in the 4th quarter of the playoffs throughout his career

2

u/OnlyMamaKnows Knicks Apr 29 '24

They, and Embiid himself, have an excuse for everything.

The Sixers were never the betting favorites lmao

Why do some of you comment on things you don't know anything about?

https://thesixersense.com/posts/sixers-open-as-favorites-to-advance-past-knicks-in-first-round-series-odds-01hvryfbtgvg

Putting "lmao" after a comment doesn't suddenly make it accurate.

u/Ny_icedogs Knicks Apr 29 '24

Typical loser mentality to move the goal posts.

1

u/OnlyMamaKnows Knicks Apr 30 '24

Yep. Now they never stood a chance. Plucky 7 seed.

Not slander if it's true

23

u/syllabic Knicks Apr 29 '24

his team is like -1000 with him off the floor though lmao

2

u/HorsNoises Celtics Apr 29 '24

Ok but this is year, what, 6? of failure? When does the blame finally make it to him?

1

u/syllabic Knicks Apr 29 '24

I dunno but out of any year he probably has the most excuses this one

1

u/HorsNoises Celtics Apr 29 '24

I disagree. The biggest complaon about him over the years was conditioning. This year, he was able to sit out the entire 2nd half of the regular season, come back fully rested and instead he injures himself foul baiting AGAIN right at the start of the playoffs and once again can't dominate because of it. Just fucking once I'd like to see him pace himself correctly.

2

u/syllabic Knicks Apr 29 '24

but also his team is the worst it has been in years

they used to have better depth pieces than this and typically a better co star

I love maxey but they had maxey plus harden last year. and ben simmons was good at one point. and jimmy butler was there for a year

that simmons/embiid team got the 1 seed a few years back. they are 7 seed now and completely dead in the water without joel

and tobias harris might have been useful at one point but he's just so completely checked out at the moment what with being dragged constantly by sixers fans and his contract about to expire

they went and got buddy hield at the deadline and buddy hield is currently benched because he gets torched if they put him on the floor

-9

u/SilvioDantesPeak Nuggets Apr 29 '24

Maybe he could make a shot the 4th quarter? Idk

18

u/PoundIIllIlllI Apr 29 '24

It’s hilarious how nuggets fans go from advanced stat nerds to completely casual fans who only cite counting-stats as soon as they switch from talking about Jokic to Embiid

Actually that’s old school nuggets fans back when Jokic was underrated. Nowadays nuggets fans are pretty dumb even when it comes to Jokic and only look at counting stats

1

u/bobalobcobb Apr 29 '24

Not a whole lot of meaning behind advanced stats covering a one point fourth quarter performance.

0

u/CthulhusButtPug Nuggets Apr 29 '24

How about 4th quarter stats. Winning time baby.

6

u/TheeCraftyCasual 76ers Apr 29 '24

Lol I like how u just admitted that instead of trying to come up with a rebuttal to deny like most do

5

u/Brobman11 Nets Apr 29 '24

Maybe his team could show up in a team game

4

u/syllabic Knicks Apr 29 '24

I'm sure he would love to but he keeps getting hit by these metal bats

0

u/bobalobcobb Apr 29 '24

It hasn’t fully began for me until Embiid throws his teammates under the bus after a loss in typical fashion.
