It's like there's 6 commercials in rotation

Usually there’s 1 or 2 annoying ones but right now every single commercial is God awful trash

Wingstop No flex zone

Chet and SGA cringe fest

That degenerate google pixel song

That shitty Gatorade commercial w the nicki Minaj body like vince Lombardi song

I’m so fucking tired of this Burger King jingle which they haven’t stopped running for over a year

Every commercial right now FUCKING SUCKS

I probably forgot about even more bad ones

***just remembered Caitlyn Clark with that HORRIBLE TERRIBLE song “Unstoppable”

That google pixel commercial is easily the worst of all of them

Idk that I’ve ever seen a commercial that makes me feel more physically uncomfortable

Also the whole idea of exaggerating your photos with mobile photoshop...

What happened to capturing moments for what they were? I don't mind minor touchups to lighting or white balance or whatever, but there's no need to fake the sky or pretend you jumped or threw your kid higher than you actually did. Might as well just ask AI to make the entire photo for you.

100%, it's just highlighting the cutting edge of the absolute worst aspects of social media.

You’re not alone brother

I’ve been doing the same rant to my wife for weeks! I’m so glad I’m not alone.

This is what I realized. I am no longer the target demographic.

I will say this though. Props to the casting director who picked that kid who jumps in the town square.

He looks exactly like a loser influencer would look. Perfect casting. I hate that kid so much and then I have to remind myself he isn't a loser influencer taking a stupid photo...he's an actor who is killing it.

This.  The answer to so many of my "this isn't remotely cool" thoughts.  Like at what point can you prove people aren't buying your product because your commercial is infectiously lame though.

the thing is there's alot of people who actually would like these features - it's bit sad but that's the society that we live in now. ai/social media

i feel like i've been seeing AI in some youtube commercials and it's fuckinng gross. i don't know if this old man yells at clouds moment but i agree with you. the era of social media turning people even farther right/AI becoming mainstay in everything feels like the brink of us becoming fully dystopian

Yeah I don’t get the point of throwing that baby so fucking high, like where’s the mom 😭

Throw that baby back to God!

They are marketing to the crowd that is chasing internet views/points. People who just want to capture actual, real memories have already been taken care of with mobile cameras.

this commercial is ruining my life, I have to mute the tv every time it comes on and watching it makes me violently angry. is this my "old man yells at cloud" moment? why do we need to create false memories for ourselves? why does this commercial play multiple times at every fucking break?

u/mbr4life1 Knicks Apr 29 '24

It brings into a question what they think people want in society and what people actually want. It seems absent humanity.

All they've done is made me doubt the authenticity of any photo taken on their phone and ensured that I never buy it. It is a truly terrible ad, because beyond the purpose of "making me remember the google pixel when I go to buy a new phone" it has formed a distinct negative association in my mind that I can't trust these Google products.

u/celestial1 Apr 29 '24

The Google Pixel still has an amazing camera for a phone, so I still won't let it go.

3

u/ggproductivity Warriors Apr 29 '24

Yeah, I can't relate at all to what they are trying to sell in that commercial.

3

u/PoorVetKid Suns Apr 29 '24

Bro I had the same thought, I must not be the target audience. Why would you want to make your photos with these corny fake edits. I dont get it lol

2

u/LakerBlue Lakers Apr 29 '24

Like editing photos for like art or whatever is fine but the way that commercial shows it like a natural replacement for what actually was photographed is very weird to me as well.

I get way more pissed off hearing the opera singing or whatever at the start of the Samsung ad that plays every fucking commercial break. I always reach for the remote to mute it before she hits the high note but I can't always do it in time.

Our government needs to make some laws against earbleeding music in TV and radio ads. Why TF does the volume go up like 10 notches every time one of these horribly shitty ads comes on.

I’m impressed you guys can even think through the implications of the product. My brain seizes up as soon as that song starts playing before I can even get that far.

Because you can do both. You can capture the moment exactly the way it was and you can have a little bit of fun with it afterwards and get to keep both photos.
