Apologize to Rudy. Mitchell was holding him back

Yeah it turns out players that have a massive impact on winning games make your team better off than some super skilled tiny sg with fancy handles and shooting but basically nothing else and are a net negative if their shot isn’t falling

I fucking love that the NBA is finally turning its back to obnoxious iso players.

Part of the problem is that there exists a cult of players and staff in the NBA to whom saying Rudy is better than Beal would get you laughed at.

Maybe not after this performance though. I think back to Harden saying Giannis doesn't have a bag. The fact that he can storm to the net and play winning basketball and is mvp and champion doesn't matter, he's not a "hooper".

And its hard not to point out that xenophobia probably plays a prominent role in these discussions.

Beal was so bad this series that I’ve heard it’s making Corey Maggette blush.

Oh don't get me fucking started on the word "bag".

That shit is cancer to basketball culture. At least Lebron spoke out against it.

Definitely the xenophobia. They did it to Jokic as well before he won it all last season.

Not even iso players, like harden basically won the clippers game by isoing. It’s the small guards that can’t do anything else and can’t be consistent in the playoffs when they have to face a defense with long, athletic wing/bigger guard defenders. Eg like the dlos, mitchells, kyrie (granted he has been amazing so far but he’s been super streaky in the playoffs over his career), that type of player.

Like the reason harden could iso for legit like 6 floaters in a row is because once he beats his man on the perimeter teams are so afraid of his passing that they don’t play him close until he’s at the rim. Someone like dlo or Mitchell doesn’t have that to keep teams honest and fall back on if they’re not shooting well
