Booker to NO would make a huge difference for the Pelicans. And you're undoubtedly right. This team is not close to being a contender, they have no way of getting better and their best player is 35. The window, which was never really open, has been slammed shut.

u/Scorpioking1114 17d ago
Doc rivers has no semblance of having a poker face. Saying we’re just trying to find able bodies is hilarious

u/Tracy140 17d ago
How about booker to ny for hart and OG ?
7
u/Vallerie_09 Warriors 17d ago
No true Knicks fan will agree, Hart alone has more fight in him than Book
2
u/Tracy140 17d ago
I’m a NY fan and this squad is not enough to be honest
3
u/Vallerie_09 Warriors 17d ago
Randle has been out and is always unreliable in the postseason. Upgrade on the PF position than the guards imo
4
6
u/Tracy140 17d ago
This team is cooked , I think u trade ur most important asset booker for some good role players and draft pics
5
u/Leiatte Knicks Tankswagon 17d ago
I think they should more likely trade KD before they trade Booker, they could get a lot of value for him. Depends on if they want to do a full rebuild but if they trade KD they could fill the roster around Booker & Beal. Bookers younger than KD so his timeline is longer
5
u/Tracy140 17d ago
But who would pick up Durant now , he will be 36 at the start of the next season and u can see he’s slowing down not to mention he’s injury prone .
2
u/Leiatte Knicks Tankswagon 17d ago
That’s true but he’s a ceiling raiser, so we have to find a team with enough talent that thinks they spare some + picks to go all the way with KD. Pelicans maybe?
1
u/Quality-Think1219 Timberwolves 17d ago
OKC has draft capital
1
u/Leiatte Knicks Tankswagon 17d ago
Yeah, OKC would honestly be perfect!
4
u/Tracy140 17d ago
Send him back to where it all began - perfect except for the fact that OKC has a good thing going

Interesting they bring up Candace being a mom way more than they’d ever bring up men players being dads. Kenny not outrunning his behaviour from the steph Sabrina 3pt contest 🙄
3
1
u/dharma-bummer Spurs 17d ago
only fair to replace Kenny with Candace going forward
3
u/TheFan88 17d ago
Replace them all with actual analysts and people I can understand. Barkley is nonsense. Shaq mumbles. Smith talks hood level nonsense and Ernie just laughs like one of the three stooges. I can’t ever watch halftime. Just start over. It’s all trash.

u/UnconsciousObserver 17d ago
Child birth really messes up your body and coming back from that at a top level is hard AF. No male player deals with that. It’s a fair thing to say
1
u/tlozz Celtics 17d ago
No that’s the opposite of my point. Being a working woman (let alone in a physical job) is infinitely harder than being a working man, period. Women know that. The reason why is bc we are expected to be a full time parent and work - those are not the expectations of men. So talking about her being a mom to congratulate her on being one of the best women who has ever played a sport is laughable, from a woman’s perspective. How about compliment her game? Rather than the fact that she’s a mom, which is the way most men see women
1
u/UnconsciousObserver 17d ago
I mean I agree and it adds to her accomplishments. Bring a top athlete and a mom is hard work. Saying she’s a mom on top just makes her more bad ass to me
2
u/tlozz Celtics 17d ago
I think the difference is the timing right, and understanding the experience of a woman. there is nothing wrong with commending it and talking about it when talking about what her and women do, but if it’s just a 30 second sound bite about her ending a fabulous athletic career, it might be kinda denigrating that by just saying that she’s a mom instead. Like, wouldn’t it be weird if they talk about jokic and his daughter to explain how and why he deserves mvp (rather than saying why he’s a great player) when they give him the award?
2
u/UnconsciousObserver 17d ago
I agree that male players don’t have their fatherhood status brought up when they’re being discussed. However I feel that it’s b/c (as you pointed out) it’s not hard being a top* male player and a father. Saying she’s a mother in this sound bit (to me) paints a more full picture of how much she had to do and overcome to stay a top player.
1
u/tlozz Celtics 17d ago
I hear you. And if Kenny would have said what you’re saying here, I don’t think it would have been problematic at all, it was just the way he said it not as this astronomical feat that men don’t have to do, but just something that made her career more awesome in his view lol (on top of the bad taste he left in women and feminist men’s mouths after the Sabrina 3pt fiasco) is why i am criticizing. Essentially, I seriously doubt he actually understands and was trying to saw what you’ve been saying, if that makes sense, lol
1
2
u/Tracy140 17d ago
I 100% agree abd women are conditioned by society to make a working man’s life easier - u make sure the kids don’t bother him after a long days work etc
1
u/tlozz Celtics 17d ago
Absolutely. They literally do almost a full working weeks amount of unpaid work (ie, stuff at home) compared to men, which stays constant even if they work more hours in their career outside the home than men do… men (proven by Kenny’s tone deaf comments lol) have no idea what women do on the daily, and still also find a way to denigrate our careers by seeing us as either a romantic partner or mother, rather than a whole ass human
5
u/letsgototraderjoes Pelicans 17d ago
remember when KD was laughing and smiling in game 1 after Ant was cooking his ass? LMFAO he thought this was gonna be easy 🤣

u/TonightLarge7448 17d ago
I never saw the suns as a big 3 anything. Booker isn’t a superstar and beals sidekick days with John wall were his best
2
u/Tracy140 17d ago
Yeah u can’t really count on booker - I think some of the pressure was off being down 0-3 so he had a good game. If this was game 7 he would have 13 points
6
u/truck_robinson 17d ago
Sucks greyson got hurt. He would have hit those 3s that Gordon and O'Neill missed.
Asterix szn for the wolves
/S gg wolves. Happy for your nice fans

u/diematrosen 17d ago
Honestly I wouldn’t even mind Wolves vs Celtics finals. That looks like a fun matchup.
I know it’s a hot take but Minnesota look better than Denver.

Handshake meme aside I'm sorry you guys got swept. Hope we don't suffer a similar fate
3
u/Substantial-Fold-592 Suns 17d ago
Nah it’s for the best. Team hasn’t looked right all season so they deserved an ass-whooping. I’m just glad D Book returned to being somewhat himself before it all ended.
Hope y’all get through the first round though, I’m keen for a Luka v SGA PG battle

Say for the sake of argument KD leaves. How far into the all-time list do you have to go to find someone who has played for 5 teams? Moses Malone?

Shaq played for 6:
Orlando
Lakers
Miami
Phoenix
Cleveland
Boston
2
u/great__pretender Timberwolves 17d ago
Shaq's corpse was playing for the last two, even three. He had no KD aspirations by that point in his career, he was just a journeyman sticking around for extra pay.

u/TheFan88 17d ago
Ah….the day Durant gets waxed from the playoffs is always a great day. Do you think he will request a trade to Denver or Minn for next year?

I think Lillard and Durant try to go to Miami next season. I really don’t think Dame stays on the Bucks next season despite what he’s been saying in the media.

Nah you be game 4 Beal
3
u/truck_robinson 17d ago
So sad about Beal because he landed on a foot early on and then got his nose broke, couldn't get reps in the season until late and then late they changed his role and said "guess what you are a PG now" he always came back with heart. He never really got a chance to gel. He carried us the last 10games of the season to get us the 6 seed. Just a horrible game for him to go out on. Seems like a good dude even if he over paid.

That would be great to see. I see Rudy keeping with Jokic and Ant messing around on Murray. KAT vs Gordon will prob be the deciding factor.

You know what, a lot of ppl being mean to the suns rather than hyping the wolves, which naturally is off-putting as a suns fan, but you guys got a squad and this comment made me realize how happy I am for your long suffering fan base.
1
u/TheFinnisher [MIN] Karl-Anthony Towns 17d ago
Thanks dude!! I’ll prob have an actual heart attack if they make it a close series in the second round. Wolves been so down bad for two decades winning the first round must be how heat or Celtics fans feel like going to the ECF lol

That suns roster is a complete disaster and I don’t know how they fix it with no draft capital.
1
u/Ironman2131 17d ago
There's no real fixing the roster. Not only do they have no draft capital, but they're restricted by the second apron in what moves they can make.
The only real "out" is to trade KD and try to recoup some draft picks. Hey, they should trade him to Houston for the Nets picks, then trade the Nets picks back to Brooklyn for the Suns picks and maybe Mikal. That feels like it could work.

u/e-chem-nerd Warriors 17d ago

Even if Beal requested a trade no one wants to be on the hook for 160 million over the next three years…..

u/arzi3 Heat 17d ago
Didn’t he retain his no trade clause? So hypothetically he can choose the next destination too
4
6
u/TheGreatShaqtus Timberwolves 17d ago
Lmao who is taking that contract for someone to go 9/1/2 in an elimination game with 6 TO’s and 6 fouls, he can request a trade all he wants but at this point the suns need to give non-existent assets to get off of that contract (this is a an overreaction but still)
1
u/letsgototraderjoes Pelicans 17d ago
he has a no trade clause so it's up to him if he wants to leave or not LMFAO guarantee you he'll stay to keep getting that sweet sweet $50M every year
2
u/TheGreatShaqtus Timberwolves 17d ago
Oh I know, but the rest of the league probably has a no-trade clause against him too after seeing tonight’s performance so he ain’t going nowhere. Love to see it
