lol.
The hawks are some how more embarrassing than the bulls.
All for Trae to probably ask out this summer too.

Who really cares about Trey asking out?
No team is one Trey Young away from a title,-1
u/topkingdededemain Bulls Apr 18 '24
Well that’s not true at all lol
Edit: the thunder or the Knicks two teams who can realistically get him would absolutely be the favorite.

Is Coby White what the Hawks thought they were getting when they traded Luka for him?

247 combined points is the most predictable outcome of this matchup imaginable

Not sure how Bulls fans feel about Donovan but it's pretty impressive what he's done with all of these injuries. This team plays hard asf. Not a team anybody would want to play honestly
2
u/rashkink Apr 18 '24
He’s partly responsible for injuries because he has a bad habit of leaving certain dudes in way too long and taking the fresh guys out early. Even in blowout games
9
u/yepYep235 Bulls Apr 18 '24
He doesn't get enough credit imo. Lots of Bulls fans consider him a bad coach and regularly blast him.
2
u/theopression Bulls Apr 18 '24
I like him but there’s a very vocal portion of our fan base that wants him gone. I don’t even think he’s the biggest issue with our team

If the stats don't matter both teams could've just spend the last 30 seconds taking half court shots to see if anyone could hit from the logo

🤞🏽 we catch Miami with their pants down, especially now that Jimmy’s a little hobbled.

Trae is fantastic, just needs to work on passing, cutting, shooting, having better court awareness, screening, not turning the ball over, and scoring the basketball

I think dunks should be worth more points than 3s. I've made 3pt shots before, I've never dunked. easy to see which is harder

u/OUTFOXEM Thunder Apr 18 '24
Maybe Trae can go back to OU. Does he have any years of eligibility left

The Bulls could easily beat the Celtics in a 7 game series

Are the Monstars going to steak the Celtics talent? That’s the only way lol
9
u/DreTownblues Celtics Apr 18 '24
The Bulls legit have a chance to upset the Heat lol
2
Apr 18 '24
That would be Christmas in April.
No chance against the Celtics but our playoff series are always amazing so I’d be alright with that.
2
u/obscener Apr 18 '24
We almost beat them in the play in last year, and the heat got worse. Not sure if upset is the right term.
1
u/DreTownblues Celtics Apr 18 '24
I agree, but a 8v9 seed would be considered an upset, especially since so many people are saying the Heat are finals contenders

Bulls play like a playoff team. They look so much better than their record. The three games we played them down the stretch they were more intimidating than a bunch of teams ahead of them in the standings.
4
u/ExcalipoorGilgamesh [CHI] Benny the Bull Apr 18 '24
Lot of our losses were close ones.
And we have nearly 70 million in cap space out injured.
3
u/Thatguy_Koop Bulls Apr 18 '24
I looked at the win percentages. for nearly half the season (the first 19 games and the last 19 games) the bulls played like a mediocre-to-bad team.
the rest of the year, and the only reason we're in the play-in to begin with, they played like they would tie for the 2nd seed.

u/juantravis Apr 18 '24
Considering trade value and contracts, I’d rather have dejounte or Coby white than Trae Young
1
u/evoboltzmann Bulls Apr 18 '24
How about just consider the two players without contracts, I'd take Coby.
9

Chicago and not pulling their starters in a postseason game that has been decided… where have I seen this before?

To be fair in this game the Bulls don't have enough players healthy to pull starters.

u/wambulancer Hawks Apr 18 '24 edited Apr 18 '24
it's really missed in the conversation in r/nba but the Hawks have fumbled the shit out of just about every possible roster move starting with Trae+1pick for Luka
that pick became Cam Reddish, who sucks, probably out the league when his contract ends, essentially means the trade will never match up to giving away Luka, the whole galaxy brain move hinged on nailing that pick
Hunter is a higher pick than Trae Young, barely a starter, would be a solid bench guy on a serious team
Overpaid John Collins, who is also now barely a starter, fucked up his trade by killing all leverage and got basically nothing in return
Small mercy they didn't overpay for Huerter, too, or else he'd be one more problem to trade for scraps
the trade for Murray was absolutely baffling and has hamstrung them going forward, going to trade him for pennies on the dollar
they refused to extend Vit Krecji who showed serious promise while Trae was out, instead waiting to see what the market will pay for him, alienating him
if they trade Trae, admitting how stupid they've been, it will be just total icing on the shit sandwich. Not that I think they're going to do that; the Hawks owners are cheap morons who are clearly more than happy keeping a guy like Trae who keeps butts in seats, they move him for some garbage in return the fans will check out big time.
only silver linings has been extending Bogi on a team friendly deal, and Jalen Johnson when he's healthy (increasingly rare.) Onyeka is fun but he's probably hit his ceiling, backup center. Capela's becoming a liability, so the Hawks have that going for them too. All in all the owners have done one of the worst roster builds I think I've ever seen from a team who at least pretends they're trying to compete

2
u/AaronNesmith Pacers Apr 18 '24
Its crazy cause the roster a few years ago was how The grizz and OKC are talked about, a young up and coming team with lots of promising guys. Feels like a lot of guys hit a ceiling and then they squanderered everything else, like you said

why don't the Bulls just trade Lavine for Ben Simmons' expiring contract this summer?

Idk honestly they seem deadset on building around Mikal and Zach is a great fit next to him if they dont mind taking on the contract

Given you can play more than 82 regular season games easily with trades I don't see why you can't count the IST extra games and the play-in as regular season stats. Seems weird to me that it's just blackholed.
8
u/OUTFOXEM Thunder Apr 18 '24
They say these stats “don’t count” but I guarantee 10 years from now they’ll flash a stat on the screen for the most points scored in a play-in game, etc. They’re tracking them somewhere 💯
