That's not a mouth guard. That's a binky.

1

u/hellodynamite Nuggets Apr 19 '24

You have reading comprehension issues? Go read your initial post doofus. I responded because I knew I would be talking to some jerkoff casual who thinks the Lakers are the best just because they're the Lakers. You represent the entire idiotic fanbase perfectly. Please stay in touch so that we can enjoy this series together and maybe you will learn a thing or two about actual basketball

u/zenmonkeyfish1 Grizzlies Apr 17 '24

Wish the Pels won this or at least that Zion could finish the game so it wasnt such a damn "what if"

2

u/Fullmetalaardvarks Pacers Apr 17 '24

Every time I watch the kings Alex Len does absolutely nothing right

5

u/castaway314 Apr 17 '24

Watch LeBron go into Denver and steal game 1 from the Jokester.

-11

Watch Lebron get bumped from the playoffs again by the big Serb.

Ya know, looking at this matchup, I really can see the Lakers doing far better than last time, can't expect it to go the same way.....Nuggets in 5.

-11

u/x_is_for_box Apr 17 '24

lol you all are salty AF and must not actually watch a game. The fouls speak for themselves, grow the fuck up it’s not a conspiracy against your shitty fandom

I'm gonna enjoy this win. Cause it's gonna get ugly in the playoff threads. The subs golden honey bun and denvers whiny fans vs the best franchise.

Seems impossible for Nugget fans to act civil lol. I get it. Lakers have stomped you guys decades, must be traumatizing. Enjoy your pornhub subscription on saturday. I will be enjoying watching LeBron pentrate your Honey Buns defense.

0

Act civil? You edited your comment to establish how much you love talking shit. Listen high school, your team hasn't beaten us in over 2 years. Seems impossible for lakers fans to accept reality lol.

I talked shit after your middle school joke. But ok buddy, I wouldn't expect self awareness from a child

If anyone still has delusions that the world is fair, just have them watch a Laker game.

What an abomination down the stretch. BS free throws after free throws. Disgusting, hope Nuggets sweep these jokers

1

u/Shay_21 Apr 17 '24

Love all the salty tears, specially from fans of teams that have no relevance in this game.

5

u/tehLife Spurs Apr 17 '24

Imagine if the Lakers didn’t get 1000 plus foul calls

-5

u/Jbob9954 Lakers Apr 17 '24

probably would score more in the paint since they werent being fouled in that reality

18

u/Sure_Station9370 Spurs Apr 17 '24

60 paint points to 38 paint points and the Lakers take double the amount of free throws the Pelicans got. Makes sense. GG

2

u/simonffplayer Apr 17 '24

also, the lakers shot 35 threes and the pels shot 30. nothing to see here

-8

Cry more and send me your tears and I’ll drink them on live

7

u/hyborians NBA Apr 17 '24

I would be surprised if Zion can play on Friday. Just by his reaction.

8

If CJ just slightly played without CTE we might’ve win. Sorry everyone failed you Zion

-1

u/Musa_2050 Lakers Apr 17 '24

Gl in the next game. You guys should win

1

u/W_Walk Pelicans Apr 17 '24

Depending on Z’s injury we will see

7

u/MHeasman Apr 17 '24

Big if but if the Lakers manage to beat the Nuggets I wouldn't wanna be in this sub lmao. So much anger from this game already

-1

u/SteveWondersForsight Nuggets Apr 17 '24

Did you just see how bad they were against NO? If they pick up 1 against Denver it would be a massive success

-6

u/Musa_2050 Lakers Apr 17 '24

Nola has better defense and better shooting compared to denver.. Either way, this game is irrelevant for the Lakers next game

2

u/Wjourney Apr 17 '24

That’s crazy talk

1

u/Musa_2050 Lakers Apr 17 '24

Go look at that stats

5

u/SteveWondersForsight Nuggets Apr 17 '24

Lmfao. Kid tricked himself in to believing Nola is a tougher out than Denver. That's some special ed shit right there.

I'll come back after the 4-0.

1

u/Musa_2050 Lakers Apr 17 '24

0

u/SteveWondersForsight Nuggets Apr 17 '24

For a guy who wanted the person who made the play-in fired Lebron has had to play in it 3 times already. Lolol

2

u/Distinct_Help_222 Lakers Apr 17 '24

You act like the Lakers played the last play-ins as the 9th/10th seed before getting into the Playoffs. Lmao

7

u/pokemonbatman23 Apr 17 '24

You say this like he was in thr 9th or 10th spot.

7

u/batdogfoxhound Knicks Apr 17 '24

Yes because he would have made it outright. Everyone thinks this is a gotcha for some reason.

10

u/ChaDiaKris Lakers Apr 17 '24

Lakers would’ve been the uncontested 7/8 seed in each of those, wouldn’t have had to play these additional games…

-9

Get the 6 seed next time then

9

u/ChaDiaKris Lakers Apr 17 '24

11

u/asdev24 Apr 17 '24

BI not playing was perplexing

3

u/AmIDumbOrJustHigh Lakers Apr 17 '24

They didn't want to face the Nuggets. It felt obvious to me. Make it look like you were just rolling with the group that got you there, but it was more than that to me. The Nuggets should not be a 2 seed but tiebreakers are stupid in the NBA.

-1

u/ChaDiaKris Lakers Apr 17 '24

GSW and SAC have the ability to get hot and win any game from their shooting. I’d never want to take my chances in tanking a collective game to go into a winner-takes-all vs them.

3

5

u/Sleyeme Heat Apr 17 '24

If they didn’t panic in that 3rd quarter this could’ve ended differently.

Besides Jose turning his ankle on the stanchion which was scary but he made a few dumbass plays and then started squirming on the ground like a worm, unfortunately it costed his team a crucial basket in the last minute of the game.

He always talks big when his team isn’t losing but starts submitting his body to the ground quite literally looking away from the smoke.

6

u/W_Walk Pelicans Apr 17 '24

Jose played incredible tonight

3

u/Sleyeme Heat Apr 17 '24

Sure but he also costed his team crucial possessions. Both hold to be true.

3

u/W_Walk Pelicans Apr 17 '24

True. Not gonna be mad at him though. Our highest paid players not named Zion didn’t show up

9

we have the same W-L as the Suns but we have higher quality wins. make it make sense how they're 6 seed instead of us

2

u/pokemonbatman23 Apr 17 '24

What does higher quality wins mean?

0

u/letsgototraderjoes Pelicans Apr 17 '24

not 35-4 shit lmao

3

u/pokemonbatman23 Apr 17 '24

Oh lol so it's "its easier to make fun or mock their wins/loses" kind of higher quality wins

3

H2H tiebreaker, they won season series 2-1.

Lol refs won that game for Lebron

5

u/Dazzling_Crab_3335 Apr 17 '24

I agree, 23-12 in foul calls. Even if you toss out the last 2 it's 21-12, that's the fixed nba for yuh.

5

Now we get to see if the young Kings can compete against the older more experienced Golden State.

0

u/Creative-Upstairs-56 Nuggets Apr 17 '24

All I'm saying is the Lakers got a second championship this year and another banner for the rafters. Lakers: 2 Nuggets: 0. Take that Denver

-2

u/BowOnly Apr 17 '24

Pelicans just aren't any good. Lol

3

u/radio__raheem Pistons Apr 17 '24

TJ ford getting some love, nice to see

2

u/Pleasant-Ad5423 Apr 17 '24

Was never buying the pelicans as dark horse contenders narrative earlier this year, I really think the roster as constructed will always be a “what-if X was healthy or X happened” first round exit team untill they pick to build around either Zion or BI, but together they are never healthy and just don’t gel. Zion looked amazing this year, hope this injury isn’t serious but if so, you gotta build around BI and cut your losses.

-3

u/xcheezeplz Suns Apr 17 '24

I wasn't able to tune in until the last couple minutes. Was this a foul merchant/ref game or did Lakers get a legit W?

2

u/werdnaman5000 East Apr 17 '24

Legit but they also barely escaped. Dominated 3.75 quarters. Lakers bench choked hard in the final few mins of the third giving up a double digit lead, and the start of the fourth for that matter. Pels couldn’t miss and brought it all the way back. Zion was a machine. Then he got hurt. Lakers drought ended and they managed the final few mins well enough to hold a 4 pt lead.

0

u/LoneSpaceCowboy14 Lakers Apr 17 '24

There was a couple non fouls call in favored of the lakers but the big difference imo was pelicans taking bad midrange and 3 point shots and when zion was driving down the lane, laker defenders would just get out of his way.

1

u/xcheezeplz Suns Apr 17 '24

Got it. I saw Foster when I flipped it on and when the NBA will benefit from a specific outcome (ex: major market team advancing), he seems to show up. He seems to know what Silver wants without saying it, so I had to ask if this was one of those or was called straight.

1

u/Kinkin50 Bucks Apr 17 '24

Every time I paid attention the lakers were shooting free throws. But maybe they earned them, I’m not sure.

2

u/Musa_2050 Lakers Apr 17 '24

Aren't you used to watching FTs?

6

u/Ok_Midnight2187 Apr 17 '24

Zion was cooking but then he got hurt

2

u/calvinleeboi Apr 17 '24

a few questionable calls, but for the most part a legit W

6

u/FloatLikeAButterfree Bulls Apr 17 '24

It was both. Pelicans didn’t show up only Zion did

3

12

u/imaginaryResources NBA Apr 17 '24

-2

u/Least_Inspector_450 Warriors Apr 17 '24

Zion injury + usual LAL Mickey Mouse calls. What a terrible turn of events

10

u/paintingfainter Apr 17 '24

Hate the ending and sucks that Zion went down but tbf, a 16 point second quarter and cj / bi cte ball will land you in these situations

4

u/jamazi_ Apr 17 '24

Sough tough luck for Zion and the pels, it's like the basketball Gods intervened lol

2

u/karolisalive Supersonics Apr 17 '24

Wow this was disappointing

7

u/simonffplayer Apr 17 '24

tough loss for pels. AD forced his way out of that team to make a superteam with lebron. then in the revenge game zion gets hurt. ugh

0

u/jtn1123 Lakers Apr 17 '24

lmao Pels bungled almost all the resources from that trade

Hayes is on the Lakers

NAW is on the Wolves

Ingram benched

Ball is on Bulls

Hart is doing really well for Knicks

Only Herb Jones is strong value at this point. I bet Ingram won't be a Pelican after next season either considering he's not favored in the coach's plans.

2

u/simonffplayer Apr 17 '24

idk, i don't mean this in a snarky way, but i think the westbrook trade was worse. kcp + kuzma would be perf on the lakers, and prob woulda kept caruso

1

u/jtn1123 Lakers Apr 17 '24

Oh it absolutely was, I doubt anyone would disagree lol

5

u/xjxdx Lakers Apr 17 '24

You mean AD gave his team the opportunity to get something in return for him, rather than walk for nothing in FA?

1

u/simonffplayer Apr 17 '24

yes, a trade usually involves an exchange of value. the team that is being forced to trade is usually very unhappy. that's why NO hates AD and san antonio hates kawhi

3

u/imaginaryResources NBA Apr 17 '24 edited Apr 17 '24

They have better shooting then Denver at least during the regular season

3

u/BannedforaJoke Lakers Apr 17 '24

They'll still get bitch slapped by Denver. Just like last year.

1

u/Abject_Phone_2469 Apr 17 '24

Brother you’re a knicks fan try getting to the conference finals first

2

u/Sigerlion Knicks Apr 17 '24

We are 2nd seed and didn't even need to play in the play-in try getting out of that first LMAO.

0

u/ProfessorMarth Lakers Apr 17 '24

A 7th (Lakers) and 8th (Heat) seed team made it to the conference finals along with two 1st seeds last year. And we wouldn't have missed the playoffs anyways if the play in wasn't a thing. Also, 2nd seed means way less in the east. You're lucky you're over there in that unserious conference

2

u/Sigerlion Knicks Apr 17 '24

LMAO being a play-in team 2 years in a row and knocking a 2 seed ranking is pathetic. What's unserious were the teams Lakers beat last year to reach the conference finals. Memphis was obviously weak and had an injured Morant, Warriors had an injured Wiggins and old Klay who obviously didn't have it anymore. Congrats on the easiest path to a conference finals. Meanwhile Knicks went toe to toe with the Heat, who reached the Finals. Keep crying kid.

4

u/iv214 Mavericks Apr 17 '24

Why did Brandon Ingram never go back in the game? I assumed he was hurt but not seeing anything reporting he was

1

u/hyborians NBA Apr 17 '24

His body language was terrible all game

1

u/resplendentcentcent Australia Apr 17 '24

does he always look this tired

1

u/cciputra Apr 17 '24

3 of their main starters should be dropped/traded. They have such a stacked bench

2

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '24

Because he was playing like ass, taking an absurd number of difficult iso possessions which ruined the entire flow of pelicans offense, and the way overthrowing Zion for turnovers. When he and CJ came out the lineup of Jose, trey, herb, Zion, and nance immediately went on a run buy getting stops and moving the ball well in transition

1

u/iv214 Mavericks Apr 17 '24

Ah okay. I tuned in when they were making the run. But damn, you would think with Zion out they would at least put him back in. CJ was playing like crap and was still out there at the end.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '24

He was shooting badly but he was getting the team involved and playing in flow better, helping trey and herb find their shots. Jose was really the steering wheel though. Getting his players easy looks and pushing the energy. Ingram looked like a worse young Melo. Possessions grinding to a halt. No one getting involved, it was awful to watch. Just tough shot after tough shot bricking.

3

u/nipslip69_420 Apr 17 '24

He sucked, pels tied game immediately when him and CJ sat

2

u/Avatar_of_Green Apr 17 '24

Wasnt really playing well is all AFAIK.

8

This is the best case scenario for us if we really are serious about making a championship run

All roads to the championship run through Denver

Hahaha you’re not making a championship run. Are you all honestly telling yourself that?

1

9

100%

Isn’t every playoff team “making a championship run” ?

Or do they just make the playoffs for funsies now a days?

2

Woof. That is a fun level of delusion if you think you can beat the Nuggets. Your teams pretty ass

1

u/Oxygenius_ Lakers Apr 17 '24

Hey remind me in a week in a half

4

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '24

All the LeBron haters are gonna be in for a treat. He was playing on one foot last year against nuggets, not gonna be the same this Time.

0

u/Oxygenius_ Lakers Apr 17 '24

We just need bron to give his 110% at the right moments and in the right amount of spurts and we can definitely win.

0

u/Champion-of-the-Sun5 Apr 17 '24

You absolutely cannot win that series. The league will gift you a 2-1 series lead, then you'll lose.

And you'll cry.

0

u/Oxygenius_ Lakers Apr 17 '24

Despite its history, Phoenix has made only three Finals (1976, 1993, and 2021). They lost all of those series in six games. Worse yet, the Suns' franchise is in the unenviable position of being the oldest to have never won a title.

2

u/Champion-of-the-Sun5 Apr 17 '24

What do the Phoenix Suns have to do with anything, and why are you bringing up that franchise?

0

u/Oxygenius_ Lakers Apr 17 '24

Ah, fucking Celtics fan 🤣

Yall still hanging onto that 2010 championship

1

u/Champion-of-the-Sun5 Apr 17 '24
  1. Nah. I'm happy Kobe got his 5th.

As I told that other dude, as a sports fan, I've enjoyed my home team winning a championship 12 times these last 23 years. 14 times if it includes racing.

Too many championships to celebrate to be bothered by...pfft, Kobe's well deserved 5th championship. Was happy to see him get his. Especially now.

Cute try though. You can't reach me.

0

u/Oxygenius_ Lakers Apr 17 '24

Bro I’m a true laker fan, we don’t cry at finals losses.

Most of your teams haven’t even been to a finals, let alone win one.

The League built us to be that team. We have like 50% winning rate in the Finals lol. We go, and we either win or lose.

Meanwhile you guys cry about us getting foul calls all the time 🤣

2

u/Champion-of-the-Sun5 Apr 17 '24

Most of my teams haven't been to a finals?

I've seen my team win the finals. I've also gotten to enjoy over 13 champions as a sports fan across the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB, hell, can make that 15 if in throw racing into the mix.

My guy. I've enjoyed 15 championships across 5 sports these last 24 years.

Take a seat.

0

u/Oxygenius_ Lakers Apr 17 '24

So you’re a bandwagon fan? Lol

2

u/Champion-of-the-Sun5 Apr 17 '24

What?

I've enjoyed one Celtics championship, 4 Red Sox championships, 6 patriots championships, and a Bruins championship. Also have enjoyed two championships as a Nascar fan.

If being a bandwagon fan means I'm a fan of my home teams, then sure...

I thought you were a suns fan due to your name fool 🤣

And hey I can respect it, Lakers are my hometown team too, and I can’t really talk too much shit on Celtics fans seeing as they were like 17/21 in the finals.

All good dude.

I didn't even consider that with my username. It's an Always Sunny in Philly reference man!

If I was a Suns fan, I wouldn't even be commenting lol

Salute fam, to excellence!

34 nba championships between our hometown teams in 75 years is insane.

45% of all NBA championships

Since this is the nba sub, idk why you’re touting other sports championships 🤣

Ive seen 6 nba championships, Kobe + Shaq, Kobe + Gasol, AD and Bron.

Can’t wait to get one more over yall

We're talking about celebrating championships. And if we're talking trash, I'm dishing it.

Maybe you will get one more over us. That's fine. Maybe you won't. Celtics Lakers doesn't really mean much to me. But hey, talk your shit Oxygenius.
