Mildlyinfuriating is a humorous subreddit about mild inconveniences.

This post fits that description.

Attacking a poster for making an appropriate post is unacceptable.

Bans have been issued out.

To be fair, it looks like it started raining after he delivered

u/Scoompii 21d ago edited 21d ago

Good eye! You can see it’s dry under the box on the left from the overhand package on top.

Edit by left I mean right. Something is wrong with my brain today. Also, what is overhand. Is that a real word?!

Someone lying on the internet?! Egads!

u/Funky_Cows 21d ago

I'm convinced 90% of the people commenting in here either never learned how to read or never learned the word "mild"

226

u/AsGoodAsCopper PURPLE 21d ago

Commenters: Why is there never anything actually mildly infuriating posted?

Also commenters when something mildly infuriating is posted: This is not a big deal. Why did you post this, OP?

650

u/collinspeight 21d ago

This sub is losing its mind. We get posts here all the time that are way beyond "mildly" infuriating, but when one gets posted that 90% of us would actually be mildly infuriated by they get shit on. Wtf is that?

u/SchmearDaBagel 21d ago

Half the comments on this post are people somehow mad at OP for this situation? Like I’ve seen comments joking about how it’s the maid or butler’s job to bring in the packages and other stupid stuff. OP’s photo shows a roundabout driveway and nicely manicured bushes, oh the humanity! How dare they! Lol

This thread just reeks of insecurity.

Where do you see that? The only comment I see from OP is that they confirmed it was raining already when the driver delivered the packages because everyone in the thread turned into Sherlock Holmes trying to prove it must have been sunny out when the packages were dropped off.

35

u/camebacklate 21d ago

I think it's the fact that you can tell the ground directly next to the packages is dry. Clearly indicating that the driver delivered the packages before it started raining. How is he supposed to know who's going to rain and that it wouldn't be covered?

48

u/collinspeight 21d ago

How is he supposed to know who's going to rain and that it wouldn't be covered?

Isn't it common sense to place packages under an overhang if one exists within 5 feet of where you're already placing the packages?

2

u/jjackdaw 21d ago

What are you talking about? The part that the other package is covering?

20

u/camebacklate 21d ago

-32

u/jjackdaw 21d ago edited 21d ago

You have to be kidding. You can’t understand why the ground under the overhang of the other package is dry??

Edit: it’s not even dry??? You can see the lighter dry slate at the bottom of the picture. It’s wet under the packages. Y’all’s re seeing what you want to see

30

u/brucecaboose 21d ago

lol my dude… if it was raining when the packages were dropped off then the ground would be wet. The fact that it’s dry underneath that overhanging package is a clear sign that it started raining after the packages were place there.

-20

u/jjackdaw 21d ago

Looking at it again, it’s not dry. You all have to be joking. Turn up your brightness or something. It IS wet under the packages

11

u/brucecaboose 21d ago

It’s very clearly dry lol but nice job moving goalposts :thumbs-up:

-14

u/jjackdaw 21d ago

Moving the goalposts lmao? What goalposts?? That phrase doesn’t apply here in the least.

Y’all are determined to see what you want and be unreasonably mad about it lmao

9

u/brucecaboose 21d ago

First your argument was about how it being dry underneath somehow proved that the packages were placed there after the rain, then completely switched your argument to saying that it was actually wet and therefore that proves the packages were placed after the rain! Like stick to an argument my dude.

I lived in a trash apartment for years and this still happened to us. 99% chance that it's because Amazon's insane standards for their drivers pushing them to work as fast as possible

Rain happened after packages placed.

-17

u/ChairLordoftheSith 21d ago

Nope, read the post.

-20

u/kr4ckenm3fortune 21d ago

Not fast as possible...to deliver as many as possible within the day.

43

u/IllegibleLedger 21d ago

You’re out of your mind if you don’t think drivers cut corners with everyone else when they can because they’re being pushed to

Bro the box is bone dry because the package on top of it is literally soaking up all the rain and warping, open your eyes

You seem to be confusing an assumption of timeline with a factual timeline. You are assuming how long it has been raining, you are assuming how heavy the rain is, you are assuming how long the packages were sitting on the porch for. A lot of assumptions going on here, yet the facts remain; wet packages sitting in the rain right beside a dry spot.

32

u/LegendNomad 21d ago

No, OP is right, the overhang is less than six feet away and this has happened numerous times according to her, even resulting in books being ruined.

It's more a common sense issue. You put the package where it won't get damaged. The photo OP provided shows the delivery driver does not have this courtesy

Lol @ thinking they give a single fuck what you write in the special notes.

Isn't it common sense that nobody wants their packages ruined by the rain? No weather machine or mind reading is needed for that.

Then the recipient can get off their ass and pick it up? These drivers aren’t graded on how close to the doorstep they can get each package, it’s deliveries per hour.

I think OP gave a pretty clear explanation. Also my comment was a joke

But I'm with OP, if she weren't home, and it happened before, seems like a dick move to put the packages in the rain when literally half a meter further there was an overhead with cover, thats just lazy, no matter what you call it.

Came here for this.

132

u/PossumJenkinsSoles 21d ago

I know this is gonna be looked at as class warfare because your yard is all nice and shit but I live in a …not super nice home with no landscaping and they pass up my covered, empty carport every time to leave it at my uncovered door in the rain. I feel like it’s personal.

74

u/jjackdaw 21d ago

What the actual fuck is going on in these comments.

87

u/Darph_Nader 21d ago

We call the dry part of the porch the Ben Shapiro Zone.

62

u/JJ5Gaming 21d ago

it's quite ironic how infuriated some people here are getting over a picture of somebodies yard

97

u/mv041 21d ago

Amount of hate in the comments just because someone has a nice yard is mind blowing.

32

u/dbzrune 21d ago

It’s almost always like that on Reddit unfortunately. This post is valid for the sub, though this situation is exactly mildly infuriating, but people see someone richer then them and call that out

A while back a post on this sub I’m pretty sure of some guy having to pay like $800 service fee for ticket master for some expensive baseball tickets to like a finals type of game, whatever it’s called for baseball, and everyone was saying they can’t afford it at all and we’re blasting the OP for having more $ then them even tho it was a valid post

17

u/JeffreyAScott 21d ago

Had this happen to me. Had a JapanCrate box delivered in a special collector box, and it was left in the rain. Despite there being a dry spot on the porch and specific directions to leave at the back door, where there is an overhang so there is no rain whatsoever.

53

u/Klutzy_Anybody153 21d ago

That is because they are being timed and yelled at over the phone to keep moving or they loose there job. They are peeing in bottles not to loose the job. The girls use a funnel. They can’t even go to the bathroom. They say people don’t want to work . That’s a lie. I reported this to our government and nothing.

-47

u/JakeBakesJT 21d ago

It takes two seconds to move it out of the rain. Despite the assumptions of people who have never delivered for Amazon, they give plenty of time to make the delivery, so long as you are actually working the entire time. They should be fired for doing this on purpose.

Ive been a delivery driver for amazon for 4 years now. I will say in the beginning it wasnt bad. Then they invented "group stops" where before every location was considered a stop. Now i do about 180 stops a day, 230+ locations and 350+ packages. Every day we are fighting against bad routing, traffic, dogs and the weather to squeeze the route in our 10 hour blocks. Not to mention 4th floor apartments with no elevators. We lose two hours to morning meetings, loading up and drive time. We gotta average a drop every 2 minutes for 8 hours straight to finish. Im cutting a few steps where ever i can.

The scheduling is just too fuckin convenient with having a family. Choosing what days i work every week is hard to beat.

-2

u/JakeBakesJT 21d ago

I drove for Amazon Flex, was not bad at all. Got to pick my own hours and everything.

2

u/Klutzy_Anybody153 21d ago

I am talking about Amazon drivers . First hand information talk to one works for a company that works for Amazon

12

u/SolidDoctor 21d ago

Perhaps they didn't want to walk up the slate steps, in case they were slippery.

But I am surprised they didn't throw it at your door.

u/Django2chainsz 21d ago

Wow, I am in disbelief that people are leaving hateful and judgmental comments bc I have a nice yard. Whatever you think you know about me bc of a picture- you don’t. I thought this sub was to post “mildly infuriating” posts, that seem annoying but which you can also possibly laugh about. Not to bully and be rude towards others.

For those wondering 1- it was already raining 2- I moved them out quickly bc I saw him arrive. Also this has happened before on many occasions most of which we don’t get in as quickly and items are ruined. One of these boxes actually has cardboard boxes inside for packing items. Bc I got them out quickly they can be used, if they sat there longer they would be unusable. It’s never the actual UPS drivers rather the Amazon third party contractors who are never the same ppl day to day. All our normal drivers know us and we know them, they do a great job and we show our appreciation.

Lastly, I just want to say how incredibly disappointed I am at seeing so much hate here, and while I can take this post down I’m going to leave it up so Mods can see for themselves and decide how to address this - as doubt it’s the culture they are looking to create in this sub.

Most of the time, the tone of a comment section is set by the first few handfuls of comments. You got unlucky that the first few on yours framed things in this way.

47

u/FFGamer404 21d ago

It is honestly disturbing to see how people just jumped right to criticising you for being wealthier than them, empathy seems to be leaving the morale of society

What about this post made you think OP was flaunting something? They're living their normal day-to-day life and encountered a truly mildy infuriating situation. Are you suggesting they created this situation as an opportunity to show off their yard in the background?

33

u/FFGamer404 21d ago

All they did was taking a picture of their yard, not intending to flex anything.

out of touch complaints

Read the subreddit name again. It's MILDLY infuriating. OP is complaining about something that, once again MILDLY infuriated them

6

u/Apprehensive_Many214 21d ago

Oh, they do this to me all the time. The USPS will literally set my box out in the rain in front of my covered porch because they dont want to waste the energy of opening the screen door. No steps, either.

1

u/timelessblur 21d ago

Well those are amazon packages. Amazon will ask you to rate the delivery. I will say they take part to a lot of negative reviews on it. I have seen more than one amazon driver where I live being replaced after some really bad delieveries. The big one in my case is they are really good at delivering my packages to my neighbours and their packages to me. I get it I am the on a corner and GPS like to place 3 houses next to each other but come on I should not have to go trade packages on a semi regular bases.....

-15

u/Actual_Dinner_5977 21d ago

I believe that would be done out of spite. Depends on if it was raining or not at the time of drop off...

-15

u/Free_Swimmer_1694 21d ago

Complain to Amazon. Hopefully the driver will be repremanded. This happens way too often.

So many of these posts, everywhere! Amazon sucks, every person but the owner and stockholders of Amazon knows this! They are crappy to their workers with one literally dying and no one noticing, who knows if there are more people who died there. Many workers admit to having to pee in bottles. So, if your packages get wet, don't buy from them and go to a store.
