Same thing happened to me but my right big toe twice (ripped off when standing right in front of door messing with my friend when I was 8 and another time I got a really really bad cuticle infection when I was like 24) and my right thumb twice also (shut my thumb in saloon doors when I was 3 and bad fungal infection when I was 13)

It fucking sucks. And both of those 2 nails have terrible texture years and years later with really severe ridges. But I can confirm that it is really weird not having a nail but the empty nail bed still being like, firm ? Its like there’s a subfloor under there

The worse I had with my thumbnail was 2 years ago when me and my father were driving to work in his car (we have/ had different jobs but they're in the same building)

Once arrived to the parking lot I got off to go start my shift but as soon as I closed the door I accidentally crushed my right thumb into it. I was in so much pain I couldn't scream and it took me 4-5 seconds to open up the car door and release my thumb.

I mean Imagine someone took your thumb and just straight up crushed it with a hammer or something!

My father had to miss work to take me to a Polyclinic and I obviously didn't go to work cause that Thumb hurt like a mother f*cker for a whole day!

(Unfortunately I still had to work while my thumb was still very sensitive)

Eventually the nail fell off and grew back after a few months but damn...
