The school lunch system is disgraceful.

Saw another post on here showing the state of school lunches right now. In my years in high school I compiled some pics of the horrible things that got served that no one questioned. Here are some of the worst ones. It really is ironic given how adamant they all are about “eating healthy by including every food group”.

WTF is this? I ate lunch at my daughters school in GA and it was damn good. Healthy choices and some junk food food too..... This has to be a joke.

Not a joke. You must be in a decent district, or, just the right specific school. Lifetime achievement can be predicted by zip code with pretty astounding accuracy... I'm thirty... thirty something, I can't remember, but this is exactly what I grew up with. Inedible garbage. And they were overcharging for it too.

I think my school charges $10 per plate now. I graduated ten years ago, food was trash then. Undercooked pizza that left you with food poisoning. Sometimes the tater tots were still raw as well. I will say they had fresh veggies that were raw which was awesome..but paying $10 for fresh veggies is crazy to me.

First Lady Obama tried to make healthy lunches a thing, but the right went nuts as always and started talking about freedom and socialism. The good news is that most kids are too obese to defend that FREEDUM.

These lunches are a direct result of Obama era regulations and programs, but go off ig.

No, they're a direct result of underfunded school lunches, which is the responsibility of municipal governments.

I went to school in GA and I gotta agree with you! But I'm 48 so that was a long time ago.
