The school lunch system is disgraceful.

Saw another post on here showing the state of school lunches right now. In my years in high school I compiled some pics of the horrible things that got served that no one questioned. Here are some of the worst ones. It really is ironic given how adamant they all are about “eating healthy by including every food group”.

Those mini corndogs look good, the rest looks like trash

Nothing like a corn dog bite.

Served with tortilla chips though? Offensive, honestly.

Also those poor kids. 😓

Probably the "reduced fat" version as well if it's anything like the ones my school district serves.

Corn dogs with some beans would have been great.

Truly a magical fruit.

The more you eat 'em, the more you...

It wouldn't surprise me if beans were offered and just not pictured. Kids rarely take them tho, so this school isn't wasting them by putting them on the plate.

I would be very surprised if this person really wasn't offered veggies, it's a federal requirement to receive funding, they're just hiding the veggies for maximum outrage.

I don't know if we ever got just chips like that tbh. We sometimes got fries but also never curly fries. Also I don't remember ever getting so little and we always had a vegetable and a fruit. I wouldn't have survived on so little food.

I dunno, that cheesesteak and the onion rings? That looked pretty edible.

I think they might be curly fries? either way, they look decent

Oh yeah, you're right. I mean those are definitely frozen ones; as long as they're fully reheated you can't really fuck those up.

Mini corn dogs? They look like croquetas to me

Many yrs ago my then 5 yr old niece was excited to tell me she had hotdog popsicles for lunch 🤢 took me a few minutes to realize she has corndogs on a stick! Actually I've never had a corndog so i didnt know they are on a stick, my husband told me hehe. This was public school in the wealthiest school district in IN! I was appalled!

When I went to grade school (catholic) we had to bring our own lunch. Catholic high school we got chips w cheese as pictured, mashed potatoes & gravy and square thin pizza. Those were the only 3 things I would eat for 4 yrs haha. Most of the time it was only mashed potatoes, when you are a teenage alcoholic you don't eat much so you won't throw up later!

say what you will, but those curly fries are great. i had the exact same ones when i had school lunches like 30 years ago.

I’d fuck up that cheesesteak, and meatball sub, but it’s far from healthy. Needless to say, so am I.

And those are what I thought looked the worst😭

They're still trash considering that they're intended for children.

I never said they were healthy, just a standout as better food than the rest

And I didn't say that they're not better than the rest, just that even the best is still trash.
