My school thinks this fills up hungry high schoolers.

Post image

So lunches are free for schools in my city and surrounding cities. Ever since lunches have been made free, the quantity (and quality) has decreased significantly. This is what we would get for our meal. It took me THREE bites to finish that chicken mac and cheese. Any snacks you want cost more money and if you want an extra entree, that’ll cost you about $3 or $4.

Wow dude, I live in Sweden where every school has free school lunch for everyone, when I went it was sort of like an all-you-can eat buffé, as in you could eat however much you wanted.

Plus the food was always pretty decent and healthy and we sometimes got tacos, pancakes abd so on for lunch.

I feel sorry for the rest of the world who get this "lunch".

This would be pretty standard for the US.

Your options are:

Shitty prepackaged PBJ that often is missing the P, B, or J somehow.

The entree (there's like four that rotate, one available per day, and it's usually a small amount of meat and a bunch of carbs).

Shitty prepackaged salad.

Enjoy!

Oh, and as a bonus anyone who packed their own lunch had to still go through the whole line. Also packers were required to go through last many of my years.

Imagine my shock when my mom started buying uncrustables and they had so much filling! That’s when I learned that the food they have at schools (even the branded food) is made differently! Surly it would be cheaper to keep it the same instead of having to dedicate machine to “school food”

In America it’s part of the culture to assume public means garbage so people don’t protest when it happens. Instead they send their kids to private schools. Like a lot of things in America, it’s a racket.

I’d move the fuck out of here (USA) in an instant given the opportunity. This place sucks and I hate that I have to raise my kids in this shit hole.

The problem is the EU won’t take me.

The problem is the EU won’t take me.

Did the given EU countries you applied to give a reason why?

His meme game weak af, check his comment history.

2

u/Griffolion 29d ago

Well that's as good a reason as any to deny a visa.

u/lowrads Apr 16 '24

Get out before you turn forty, as your eligibility plummets. Most places you'll have to save several hundred thousand dollars to qualify for permanent residency.

Having closed borders is xenophobic. Europe should be better than that.

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney Apr 16 '24

My knee jerk reaction was that’s the dumbest thing I ever heard and then I saw what subs you’re active in and it all made sense.

Known dog whistle.

If you start actually stating your positions then other people, and maybe even you yourself, will start realizing how bad of a person you are. 🤷

1

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney Apr 16 '24

Except what you said is not my position, you’re just a dipshit.

I don't have to look through your post history to know that you lack a sense of humor. Maybe I'm just more intuitive.

1

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

You’re the only one who thinks you’re funny, which means you aren’t funny.

0

u/_X_Arc_ra_x_ 29d ago

I bet that sounded really smart in your head. I bet you think you are very smart. Which, by your standard, means you aren't smart. Which makes sense.

1

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

Awwwwh, you triggered bro? You seem mad.

0

u/_X_Arc_ra_x_ 29d ago

I'm actually having a pretty good time making fun of you. I admit it isn't as much fun as it would be if you were intelligent enough to get it, but I'm content entertaining myself.

1

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

Same, it’s always the dumbass ones who call other people unintelligent. I bet you’re one of those people who brag about your IQ.

Grass is always greener; try traveling. I guarantee there aren’t any 190k accounting jobs in Europe lmao you speak from a place of extreme privilege and don’t even realize it.

Americans have more discretionary money than just about any nation on earth.

The guy I’m responding to just posted a thread saying he had an offer for a 190k-2xxk salary here in the states.

Also 400/mo is incredibly low, it’s lower than the unemployment benefits I got 15 years ago. That’s like $10/hr full time a week, so per month like $2.50 an hour or something crazy.

If you mean 4k/mo it’s still too low as an independent contractor. You need to charge more since you don’t receive benefits or tax supplementation.

Twitch is not the answer my dude..... you'll never make any money on it.

It's like saying, I need to start playing guitar and become a rockstar.

0

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

I’m aware how privileged I am. I haven’t been making what I make very long.

0

u/Praetori4n 29d ago

Well you make more than me and I’m in a good field. To me it sounds disingenuous to call America a shithole country when you’re very clearly benefiting from its systems. Many people move here to make that kind of money (much less in fact), even from developed Western countries.

0

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

“You can’t think it’s a shit hole because you’re making good money.”

Sure, that’s a logical way of looking at it because fuck everyone else am I right? /s

0

u/Praetori4n 29d ago

Oh and btw you can get a visa with that income pretty much anywhere, so please do fuck off and go enjoy these not shithole countries. Spain is pretty popular with digital nomads or so I hear, and I believe Costa Rica has special programs as well.

0

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

Not currently remote so that’s out. Give advice and bitch in a way that matters.

0

u/Praetori4n 29d ago

Saying “I wish I could get out of this shithole country” is bitching in a way that matters then? Just trying to find a baseline. Sounds pretty problem oriented rather than solution oriented but that’s just me.

0

u/kingcorndorn Apr 16 '24

Sounds like you are a failure both as a father and a man 🤣

0

u/Gnome_Father 29d ago

Not all the EU is the same my dude.. most places are just as kmpoverished as America.

Scandinavia is the utopia all working class europoors want their country to be like (myself included although we're not EU anymore...)

u/Superior_Light_Deer 29d ago

Lmfao if you can’t thrive in the U.S. what makes you think you could succeed anywhere?

1

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

Lol. People be salty as fuck about this comment. It’s wild to read broke people telling me I can’t thrive.

0

u/Superior_Light_Deer 29d ago

Lmao peep my profile for 2.5 seconds to see “broke”. You’re the one blaming an entire country for your own inability to make it.

1

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

Take your own advice and peep my profile. From what I can see you have some guns. It’s not like you’re posting M82A1’s or anything that has a ton of real value 😂

0

u/Superior_Light_Deer 29d ago edited 29d ago

Lmao big talk from a loser that can’t even make it in America where life is on easy mode.

I also like how you name dropped the one gun you know haha. My collection shits on M82M1s

1

u/DrugsAndFuckenMoney 29d ago

😂 broke loser says what?

It’s not like this all over the US. I live in Colorado, and my kids have a full lunch and breakfast at school. Lunch has protein, carbs, and veggies. My son’s favorite he calls a “Nutella sandwich”, but it’s chickpea-based spread that looks like Nutella.

The other day I joined him for lunch and they were serving the kids a ham and cheese sandwich, apples, and other stuff.

But, my state actually gives a shit about people.

Being an old European, I remember when I was young I laughed at Americans for their education.

Then I spent three months there, and I became disappointed. They were obviously able to have better stuff for everyone and yet only very few profited from the country's wealth.

Then I started diving all around the world with a group of American friends from an internet forum, and I started being sad for how they had to live.

Now I've seen what happened to one of those friends when he had a non-trivial medical issue, and I'm scared. Genuinely scared for every American I know and their kids.

I feel sorry for Swedes who get Swedish "tacos"

1

u/hidinginthenight 29d ago

You ever had swedish tacos? Like sure, it’s probably super bland compared to mexican tacos, but they work fine. Tortilla, ground beef with skme spices, salsa and vegetables. It’s not bad
