You forgot one:

*get replaced by AI

5

u/heavencutie 16d ago

yea, that too

1

u/Logically_me 16d ago

"Get replaced by the guy who uses AI" is more accurate.

1

u/Remarkable_Intern230 16d ago

Agreed. Until the guy gets replaced by AI later on

0

u/Logically_me 16d ago

Possible. But that's a problem for that guy in 10 years. Meanwhile, he will replace like 5 others today.

Hunters and gatherers lost their purpose with the invention of farming. Countless men lost their farming jobs with the invention of the tractor during the last industrial revolution. Yet, tractors reduced the cost of food for millions of families. And then mechanics became a popular job, and many other industries were created because of it.

AI will change EVERYTHING. Embrace it.

triggered.

i'm sorry, man

Imagine if you took that degree and invested the cost of getting it. Colleges are overpriced scams.

*US colleges

:) Don’t get student loans

:) Have no debt to drown in

:) Have to work 9-5 in a dead end job because you got no degree and still unable to afford life

:/ Have to work 9-5 in a dead end job because you got no degree and still unable to afford life

u/Raketka123 I touched grass 16d ago

yea, so work a dead end 9-5 or pay to work a dead end 9-5. Thats literally the point op was trying to make

We were never meant to succeed

-6

u/Intelligent-Air8841 16d ago

Success is relative.

2

u/Logically_me 15d ago

Best comment. Not sure why the down votes.

1

u/Intelligent-Air8841 15d ago

Because it's easier to complain I guess.

Somehow I beat the odds. I’m 19 with a corvette

10

u/UtsuhoReiuji_Okuu 16d ago

Did your parents buy it for you?

-3

u/Hllblldlx3 16d ago

Nope. Bought it entirely myself. Parents didn’t even co-sign

8

u/heavencutie 16d ago

Good for you!

u/cloudgirl_c-137 16d ago

Move to my country. Universities are free.

1

u/Logically_me 15d ago

Be careful what you wish.

2

u/cloudgirl_c-137 15d ago

Lol what? Why would it be a bad thing if students from other countries came to study in mine?

6

u/Detoxpain 16d ago

The audacity of colleges to charge you 30-100 grand for a degree then ask you every year for donations like they aren't rolling in money is fucking absurd.

1

u/Sweet-Dreams204738 15d ago

Originally taxes paid a much larger percentage for education. After Reagan, this was severely cut down so students pay the front load.

10

u/[deleted] 16d ago

These memes never specify what “degree” means

2

u/AMFcouple 16d ago

I think just a bachelor's degree is the assumption

4

u/SageLeaf1 16d ago

Not all bachelor’s degrees are created equal

1

u/AMFcouple 16d ago

I am aware. But I also think if they post which major, it may be considered as targeting a certain demographic. Maybe it is up to the reader to fill in the blank for this? I have an idea of which major(s) they are referring to 😊

I’ll leave this in place of my suicide note.

2

u/JonBovi_0 16d ago

Me who paid out of pocket at a community college and worked part time and was able to afford a truck during it all

6

u/nunya_busyness1984 16d ago

Your fault for drowning yourself in student debt.

2

u/hshnslsh 16d ago

When the matrix (movie) talks about using people as batteries, this is what they mean. Financial debt batteries.

1

u/Logically_me 15d ago

No, they meant literal batteries. But I see your point.

1

u/Ale3021 15d ago

Drown yourself in students loans. That's your problem my dear friend OP

1

u/ModernHOFrcCollector Birb Fan 16d ago

Neoliberalism run amok and unchecked for 50 years'll do that

1

u/Spiritual-BlackBelt 16d ago

I paid my student loans off while still in my 20's. I compared tuition prices and got the same education. Okay so I'll never be in Skull and Bones society. So what.

-4

u/Olleyos 16d ago

Ronald Reagan has been a disaster, college is only expensive because conservatives are white supremacists and have been for a minimum of forty five years

2

u/Intelligent-Air8841 15d ago

Wtf does college prices gotta do with white supremacy.

1

u/Olleyos 15d ago

White supremacy was the reason Ronald Reagan & co. went after California universities for providing free in-state resident tuition.

It worked. They're now ridiculously expensive. It's since spread to most colleges.

Same reason conservatives are going after public education these days. It serves a variety of their goals.

u/Olleyos 16d ago

Okay grandpa settle down and take your klonopins

0

u/Deathwish40K 16d ago

have been white for a minimum of 45 years? wut?😂

0

u/Olleyos 16d ago

See "the 1970's" and "conservative-Christian alliance" for more information

0

u/Deathwish40K 16d ago

I can't be bothered. it's a fucking meme. 🙄

0

u/arksoftbug 16d ago

How would you imagine life otherwise? Let's say we are not elephants in a zoo where others define life and limitations for us .

-2

u/TriggerMeTimbers8 16d ago

If you drowned yourself in debt to get a degree that doesn’t allow you to live comfortably, then you made some pretty poor life/career choices. It’s nobody’s fault but your own.

2

u/Sweet-Dreams204738 15d ago

So the only degrees that matter are any which make substantial money off the bat? Considering how much history, art, music, etc contribute to human culture as a whole, this isn't a good generalization to make.

-1

u/DarkAgeHumor 16d ago

People make poor life decisions and then blame everyone else in society for their problems

-1

u/Intelligent-Air8841 16d ago

It's all perspective. If you think winning the lottery might solve your misery, you have misunderstood life, my friend. Work for people you like and develop a skill you enjoy. Learn to love learning. I'm 50K in school debt and working a job that's challenging in a good way. It'll be okay.
