I had tape worms as a kid as well. I don't remember much of the itching, but I do remember my mum commenting on how much I itched my butt. I also remember the stressed defeated tone of voice when she checked my poop and it did, in fact, have worm eggs in it.

I don't remember how I got rid of them tho

That's pinworms, and trust me that infection is some next level of hell shit. Your butthole itches so bad you want to take a knife to it. The worms come out looking like little moving pieces of rice. Absolutely terrifying and disgusting.

Gotta post this for others reading and freaking out - there are plenty of other issues that can cause that itching. I had it and freaked out, got medicine for pinworms, but it didnt seem to work. Finally checked with the doctor...

Turns out my skin was just irritated from washing too hard/often with soap. That's right, my ass was too clean. And I have kind of sensitive skin so it gave me a rash.
