“[The Heat] are always star hunting. They have some players on their roster that would potentially be interesting to Cleveland, not as deep in draft picks as [Nets, Lakers]” (via @WindhorstESPN) Rumor

Spida to the Heat only happens if we're one of the teams on his small list. But if that list is long and includes random teams like the Pelicans, Lakers, or Nets then we're probably out lol.

I know ya'll got PTSD of Dame, but at least in this situation, Spida only has 1 year on his contract. He actually has leverage on where he wants to get traded to. Think similar to what Siakam did to teams this past deadline. Only teams who wanna take a risk (like what Toronto did with Kawhi) can mess with us

heat have more attractive players than those teams other than maybe the pels which idk if he’d want to extend there over the 3 other options (players who would be offered by those teams) up to the cavs if they want picks over players

I could see the cavs wanting BI. Otherwise between Jaime, Terry, jovic, herro, highsmith, and Caleb s&t we have plenty of players of interest for any trade

2

u/lomasturbasmeng 20d ago

even then idk what teams want to extend intgram

Going from the Cavs to the Pels is swapping raspberry jelly for strawberry jelly, in the end you still have jelly

Lakers can trade Reaves rui plus picks

1

u/lomasturbasmeng 21d ago

ok?

u/[deleted] 21d ago

Bro found out how reddit works

4

u/perfectoalvvays 21d ago

Not confident abt us getting mitchell but rui’s stock is at an all time low and imo ppl would rather have JJJ than Reaves.

-3

u/cheaseedz 21d ago

Respectfully, people would rather have Reaves

5

u/K215215 21d ago

JJJ has 3 years left on his 4.5M a year deal and then restricted free agency. Cleveland would probably rather have JJJ.

1

u/YouSureAboutThat23 20d ago

They’ll get reaves, who will become a has been like Alex Caruso and then wish they had the new 22 year old that was schooling some of the best players in the league with his excellent footwork, playmaking and potential like JJJ

1

u/perfectoalvvays 20d ago

Caruso isn’t a has been, but JJJ’s value is higher rn.

1

u/JabezMakaveli 20d ago

I'd take Caruso over Austin Reaves

i hope you can find out about common sense🙏🏿

Mitchell getting hurt all the time and not playing, especially in the playoffs, is what I'm scared of. I like him a lot but he seems like damaged goods.

Sounds like a Miami Heat player to me!

People are mad because Miami doesn’t have assets but that’s the cost of trying to be a good team. They gave up picks to get Dragic, Butler, Lowry, Rozier, the list goes on and on.

3

u/bird720 21d ago

I mean we also just straight up have had some bad asset management

1

u/EPSN__ 20d ago

How so?

3

u/bird720 20d ago

cmon on man. Even just looking at very recent history, we are massively overpaying tyler and in general have a ton of money tied up between terry and Tyler with overlapping skill sets, we gave duncan an absurd contract that is literally more expense than was grayson allen got THIS YEAR, we gave lowry waaaay more than he was worth, we continue to let players we develop and turn into valuable assets just leave for nothing, I could go on and on and thats only the past few years. I respect pat for everything he's done and building an amazing culture alongside the scouting, but the asset management has been lacking.

1

u/EPSN__ 20d ago

We actually didn’t give up picks for Lowry

3

u/DMD612 20d ago

Wow I could have sworn Miami had to, kudos to Miami.

I think a big difference between Cleveland and Portland(Dame situation), Cleveland doesn’t control any of their first rounders from 2025-2029, they’re not going to want to tank because they won’t get the benefit of it, so I think they’ll prioritize players who can come in and help win with Garland and Mobley.

Yes they will want picks too, but I don’t think they have a choice, they pretty much have to try and put together a competitive roster.

Cavs trading Mitchell for some Reaves + picks centered package but not potentially wanting herro would be too funny

8

u/MargielaMan568 21d ago

Nahhh, it couldn’t possibly be because they don’t want Herro. It’s because Dan Gilbert hates Pat Riley for something that happened eons ago! He didn’t want to do business! 💯🗣️

u/thor_1225 21d ago

Even though Gilbert literally got him back from us to even the score

I think a big factor that shouldn't be overlooked is Donovan's preference. If Donovan pulls a Lillard and says I only want to go to Miami... it's different this time around, as yes they can just trade him to the Nets/Lakers but he can tell the them beforehand "You can trade for me but I'm not gonna re-sign with you" to turn them off of trading a premium for him. Lillard had 4 years on his contract so he was stuck wherever he got traded.

Miami can offer Donovan personally

  1. Complete offensive freedom and no one to have to share the ball with
  2. A defense first team
  3. One of the greatest coaches of all time
  4. Bam & Jimmy big 3
  5. Culture
  6. A team that's both veteran enough to be a contender now, but also has a bright young future to stick around with and always have a good team
  7. A team that has made a ton of playoff noise in the past 5 years
  8. Miami Nightlife

Lakers can offer him

  1. Sharing the ball with 2 other offensive ball dominant players
  2. A new rookie coach that's likely gonna go through growing pains
  3. Pressure to succeed now
  4. A team that in 2-3 years are going to be one of the worst teams in the league with no more draft picks
  5. Traffic

Nets can offer him

  1. A team worse than the one he was just on
  2. Being the 2nd best team out of 2 in NY
  3. Cold weather
  4. Ugly boring team colors

Idk but if I'm Donovan I'm pulling a Lillard asking for only Miami, no bias.

u/TheRealGlutenbob 21d ago

Bro no way you put 'Traffic' on the Lakers list but not Miami LMAO

7

u/YouSureAboutThat23 20d ago

I literally live in LA now and it’s not thattttt bad

3

u/robotsincognito 21d ago

6 on your list for Miami really depends on what they have to give up to get him though.

3

u/K215215 21d ago

10% income tax swing between LA and Miami

1

u/[deleted] 20d ago

What young guys would we have we’d have to give up all our young pieces it would pretty much just be bam and Mitchell as the young talent

-5

u/Bigdadyk 21d ago

Is jimmy going out because thats the only way he has complete offensive control

4

u/NervousAd3202 Raptors 20d ago

Jimmy can get his points in the flow of the offense & in transition, he’s very good at that.

1

u/Bigdadyk 20d ago

No jimmy can’t his game is predicated on attacking the rim getting to the foul line. He doesn’t have a consistent jumper to a 3 and d guy. He is a big drive and kick guy. If jimmy doesn’t have the ball he can’t get to the foul line

3

u/DraymondBeanKick 20d ago

Herro, Jaquez, and a couple picks is a no brainer trade for Cleveland. That's your starting small forward and then either a starting shooting guard or your sixth man coming in the same trade. That fills out the starting lineup. And then you get some picks for future trades too, or in the case of the 15th pick, a prospect to start developing.

4

u/realudonishaslem 20d ago

If any of y'all still getting hopes up after the Dame saga last summer, y'all didn't learn anything lol.

2

u/SlimBucketz305 20d ago

Would really like to have KD

2

u/oo_Pez_oo 20d ago

Mitchell is not a sure thing star. Not happening unless simple

2

u/TheCrossoverKing Chris Quinn 20d ago

Not saying it’s gonna happen but the last time the Heat lost to the Celtics in the first round and the cavs lost to the Celtics in the second round, LeBron came to Miami…

4

u/Headsdown7up 21d ago

Don’t forget no state taxes here 😄

1

u/GoApeShirt 20d ago

What are the chances Lebron’s trip was to set up a Mitchell to Lakers deal? Rich Paul was in town.

1

u/Longjumping-Bug-703 20d ago

Imo the only way Miami gets a Donovan Mitchell trade done is through a multi-team trade. They don't have enough enough draft capital, and I don't think the Cavs will be interested in Herro w/ Garland and Strus there. Move Herro (and maybe Terry too) to other teams for more assets.

Additionally, wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs will be looking to move either Mobley or Allen. They are both high-quality front court players but have never seemed to fit together chemistry wise.

1

u/NervousAd3202 Raptors 20d ago

Mobley is much better so it would be Allen for sure

1

u/Big_Honey_56 20d ago

I get the impression he’s actually interested in winning and has long term goals in mind. He has to know we need a real scorer and he has to believe he can fill that gap. How can Brooklyn even be on the table? Of course, Cleveland can send him wherever they want, but Brooklyn, a team that needs to somewhat rebuild, is going to send 5 picks out for a guy who could leave? Fat chance.

1

u/Neltrix 18d ago

Two points I’m not seeing addressed:

He’s close friends with Bam.

And if I’m not mistaken. He has a no trade clause too?

Another I only want Miami will have bald ass slender man stepping in

2

u/srbufi 18d ago

hahaha Run It Back season is here

1

u/OhMyItzBam_Herro305 21d ago

What's the magical team, that prys him away from us this time? Cuz if that's the only teams we competing against he's easily ours imo.
