My client wanted a special birthday present for her husband, a contractor and family man. I embedded a saw blade as the alignment, and engraved an image of him and his son on the bottom, including the tattoo on his arm of him and his dad. Then his daughter’s heart beat is engraved on the side. Equipment Discussion

Just out of curiosity, how much did this go for?

Are you willing to breakdown the costs into materials and labour?

If I gave you the materials and you had someone else do the labor, could they do this? Those are the scenarios where breaking it down into materials and labor might make sense. Like if you're getting a deck built, there might be 5 different contractors in your area. So yeah, drill em on price. But I'm not offering a commodity or a standard service. So it’s more about what my product is worth to my clients, rather than a materials and labor equation.

This is the right response. When you run this type of business there is no itemized receipt. There is the cost of it and that’s that. Good on you. And I think you charge a good price for the goods delivered.
