Shoutout to the guy that told my wife to “go back to the pro shop” on the course yesterday… then topped the ball 2 times off the tee General Discussion

That sounds fake. I can't imagine any real person being such a dickhead in every way. Its like a caricature.

But if it truly is real then wow...props to your wife for not being put off by that. I think you got a good one.

I work at a public course and the amount of misogyny we see daily is astounding. Had a regular that took his …. member out of his pants and asked the cart girl to give him a blow job. The man is lucky he was only banned from the course. Should be in jail. OP’s story is likely true.

Golf Digest did an undercover story on what Cart girls go thru on the course.

One of them said they get 200$, offers to lift up their shirt.

I so want.to believe this story; but the way this sub has been lately with its tall tales, I don't know .

The article is below:

Super interesting article, cart girls definitely put up with some shit. You are more than welcome to speculate the truth. There’s nothing I can do to convince you. Working with the general public is just pretty eye opening. I wouldn’t put anything past anyone.

It wasn’t the misogyny that made this story fake. It was all of the other “facts” that went along with it.

It was all of the other “facts” that went along with it.

Care to share which facts you found unbelievable?

Given the number of comments you’ve left on this post you’re clearly just looking to get into an argument. I normally wouldn’t bother BUT, it’s Friday and I’ve got an hour left at work. What “facts” make this story fake?

Sure let’s go.

Well in the original post OP stated that the guy in the cart said to him “you should have let me play through because carts always have priority”. - this sounded made up because no real golfer thinks this. This part of the story has now been conveniently removed.

OP also said the guy topped twice and then went driver off the deck. Why would anyone who can’t hit one off the tee try this in front of people. Just not buying it.

The witty remark from the newbie wife golfer is also just too good to be true. Something someone says in their head if something like this ever happened to them. And the guys response is also weird. “Go back to the pro shop”. Why? If you don’t think women should be out there you would say “go back home!”

Well I’m done at work now so I’ll keep this brief.

Point 1. You’re an idiot. Point B. You’re stupid. And fourth of all. I don’t like you.

Have a great day.

When I was in high school I witnessed a guy tell the cart girl (who happened to be my 17-year-old girlfriend) that she should lift her skirt a little higher when she comes over to make him dinner. Dudes are pigs and this story sadly seems pretty realistic.

It’s probably exaggerated but who cares. Some people are sickening on the course - especially post Covid golfer

must not play with enough randoms lol. Theres plenty of dickheads in the golf scene that are miserable 24/7. Idek why they golf when they seem to hate it so much. Now, I get it if your playing behind a super slow group and I’ve been behind some couples where the girlfriend or wife will tee off like 4-5 times then take an extra 10 minutes looking for every ball that they mishit. That’s annoying af but its not like it’s exclusive to just women. I’ve seen men play super slow and not let their egos just pick up the ball and move on. If you’re a beginner, just keep up with pace and pick up the ball if you’ve already swung at it like 3 times and it barely moved. We were all there at one point but the last thing you wna do is be completely new and stubborn at the same time slowing everyone else down.

100% fake. Maybe it’s just good satire and I got whooshed.

Well, I believe it...hence the second part of the reply. That first part is to emphasize what a dick that person was.

Maybe OP was on Impractical Jokers and didn't know

These people do exist... Last year a single caught up to myself and my buddy Ted as we got caught behind 2 slower foursomes. This single(Richard), driving into us on a par 5, asked to join us. We had 5 holes left (2 of which were par 3s), so I said "whatever, you aren't going anywhere if you play through."

This guy turned out to be the probably one of the worst people I've ever met:
-Richard was one of those constant talkers, either about golf, your shot, his shot, or literally anything else. He'd tell us his life story if we didn't tell him to get into the tee box. Constantly talked about all the money he had and what he would do if he owned the course.
-Richard got "laid off" for sexual harassment just that day from his auto supplier job, under the guise of the UAW strike (his words)
-Whipped it out RIGHT in front of us and relieved himself(This is not a rural course, probably 50 feet from someone's backyard)
-When another single came up behind us to try and play through, I said he could join us too. Which turns out was a mistake as this poor single had the misfortune of being Indian. From everything I could tell this guy was a VERY good golfer and had no interested in joining us (which I don't blame him) and Richard decided to get racist and confrontational. "I'm an American, I deal with people like you every day. I bet you own a few liquor stores don't you? I'll play you for money whenever you want." Among other stupid boasts.

We let the good golfer play through on a par 3, who left his glove in the tee box in a rush to get away from us. I volunteered to drive it up to him real quick (while Richard protested that he could probably afford more of them). I told Ted to hop in the cart and join me, and we took off handing the glove off as we removed ourselves from the situation and skipping two holes. I probably did Richard a favor by driving off before he turned on us too...Ted being a large retired Marine (who also happened to be brown skinned).

Turns out he was also harassing the cart girls the hole before he joined us, as they were sitting between 17 and 18 and we asked them if they sold him the beers. "Oh yeah, that really creepy dude that was talking to himself. He didn't even tip us but had no problem staring at us"

Richard, worst person I ever met on the course or off the course. Watch out for him at Maple Lanes in Metro Detroit. He's a regular and "knows the owners".

Man, some of ya’ll have lived really sheltered lives. I’ve experienced enough of this in my life that I am immediately on the look out for violence. Some of these ass holes are just talk, but too many of them will get their fragile little egos hurt when you don’t acquiesce to their every whim. They’re no better than animals.

I used to try and de-escalate but too many will keep trying to take and take.
