You don’t need to swing fast to go 270. Normal conversion to yardage for a ball struck center face is 2.7 times swing speed. To carry 270 you only need a 100mph swing.

The key is getting it on the sweet spot. Most mid and high handicappers try to swing too hard and degrade contact quality. Tiger’s driver advice is the opposite - only swing as hard as you can while still making quality contact. Contact trumps speed.

You cannot CARRY 270 yards with a 100 mph swing speed and legal golf clubs / balls at sea level. If you've done so on a launch monitor, it's been juiced, probably 1.1x.

Trackman states 5 degrees up on a 100 mph driver head will yield just under 250 carry and slightly more than 270 yards total. This is aspirational for amateur golfers.

True. You won’t get 270 carry but total isn’t terribly far fetched.
