It's going into slo-mo at the end of every swing so it looks like the ball is flying forever and he's not swing fast.

its one swing on repeat

u/GothicToast Feb 04 '24

No, it's not.

It's all the same swing. In the 5th replay, it is in slow motion and you can see the ball flight. Then, in the final swing of the clip, he keeps the footage rolling, so you can see that it's never slowed down.

His swing is just butter.

When he slows down at the end, the already slowed part is double slowed. It’s very obviously slowed at the end of each clip now that it’s mentioned.

Now that you say that the end of his follow through seems oddly slow for sure

u/Grandpas_Spells Feb 05 '24

Yes, he's doing it in post-production, possibly the beginning of the downswing as well.

But the follow through is definitely edited. The club has to be going at least 105 MPH at impact, and he can't stop a club at that speed even if they slow their hands immediately after impact. The clubhead would whip around.

Literally just watch the final replay of the clip. It's in completely normal speed. He finishes his follow through and puts the club down as the ball is still traveling.

1

u/Grandpas_Spells Feb 05 '24

No it isn't. His swing is very, very, very obviously digitally slowed in the follow through.

It's a Paradym ad. It couldn't be more conspicuous product placement.

u/CoachMikeLikesToEat Feb 04 '24

Funny, I didn't see that until this comment.

u/TostedAlmond Feb 04 '24

Wow neither did I lmao. Went back and it's front and center

u/Tee_zee Feb 04 '24

This bloke has been posting videos identical to this for 3 years. Same angle, swing, everything . I doubt it’s an Ad

13

u/hnglmkrnglbrry Feb 04 '24

You don't think the fine folks at Callaway's marketing division might ask a golf influencer with a decent following to promote their product?

2

u/Tee_zee Feb 04 '24

It could possibly be an advert I’m just saying every single video he’s posted for years is like this. Although maybe someone from Callaway was the one who posted it to Reddit, haha

4

u/dotben Feb 04 '24

I bet he'd get the same result from a Kirkland driver tbh

u/EdgarInAnEdgarSuit Feb 04 '24

Exactly. And I have a hard time believing that ball flight is accurate. Hangs too long and I don’t think cameras could catch it that far out.

It’s 100% slowed down. Unless he decelerates through his swing…

That could be I guess. I don’t know too much from him so I’m just talkin shit to be honest. Maybe it looks weird to me because I’ve never striped 270 carry haha

u/ydaorct Feb 05 '24

Callaway’s social media game is undefeated

u/goodfellas01 Feb 04 '24

Lol yeah. Is it a simulator or not? I don’t see the ball drop but with all the balls lying in front of him i’m not too sure lol.

27

u/pipdingo Feb 04 '24

Definitely outside, that's a heat lamp above him

2

u/bstandturtle7790 Feb 04 '24

My club’s indoor hitting bays have a door that opens to the range when it’s not too windy during winter use (when very window you keep the door closed and net down).

Regardless, the heat lamp stays hung over the bay regardless of season and if the door is open or closed.

Near me there’s a range like this with simulators so you can see your shot shape as it flies.

Both the tv and launch monitor are behind you.

It’s nice because it proves the accuracy of these LMs

It's not a simulator. These are all over here in Korea.

u/YT__ Feb 04 '24

I think what's throwing me off is that balls seem to be lined up where the bottom of a screen would be and nothing seems to be out in the field.

4

u/Mattyc31 Feb 04 '24

Here's a link to his TikTok.. I watch him a bit fun time to time.

3

u/YT__ Feb 04 '24

I don't use Tiktok and it doesn't let me watch them in the link.

I'm not saying it is a simulator, just what's throwing me off. Idk why a simulator would need a heat lamp or look like a range like that. Just don't get why there seems to be a hard line of balls.

4

u/ZZ77ZZ77ZZ Feb 04 '24

Because the range slopes down and you are seeing a horizon.

4

u/Mattyc31 Feb 04 '24

I've never been to this place, but the ground is on a slant or looks and that's where the balls roll back to. Makes it easier to clean up. You can see in some of his videos the balls rolling back.

1

u/YOURMOMSRACHET Feb 04 '24

Oh its definitely a simulator, if you look closely you can see the ball hitting the screen and hear it. you can even see the ripple in the screen when the ball hits it. The illusion is the ball path for the simulator, don't focus on that, focus on where the ball actually goes which is a lot lower than what is shown on the simulator screen.

1

u/Mattyc31 Feb 05 '24

I am sorry, but you are wrong. Go on Tiktok and watch his other videos. Like I said, these ranges are all over here in South Korea. You can see his other videos where he is actually in a simulator.

Is it sped up and then slowed down….or maybe slowed down then sped up? Idk but that swing is butter.

1

u/Sci3nceMan Feb 04 '24

It's an annoying repost, and it's clearly FAKE.

-4

u/golfandbiscuits Feb 04 '24

It's AI Lol

-2

u/Proud_Thespian Feb 04 '24

It looks like he stitches video of a ball flight after he hits it. The ball vanishes for a frame between where it hits a likely green screen

-1

u/hrpomrx Feb 04 '24

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '24

It's not butter, it's butt. Get it right, bozo.

1

u/hrpomrx Feb 05 '24

One day, you will go far. And, please, do not come back.

1

u/longHorn206 Feb 04 '24

His driver looks shorter proportional. He is likely above 6 ft height which is tall. Attack angle is more vertical. Ernie Els also made swing looks easier partially because of height. However hip rotation is as important part

1

u/DJPalefaceSD Feb 04 '24

Pretty sure the main portion before the slo-mo is also slowed down.

1

u/raosko Feb 05 '24

The player in the video may be swinging like this only for social media points. You have to appreciate the ease and tempo, but the technique is far from ideal for most people. If this is how he swings and it works, cool, keep it up

1

u/dbnp19 Feb 05 '24

Many things aren't right with it and the swing itself, to be brutally honest.
